Chapter 353: Chapter 351: Deeper into the Jungle

After leaving the bar, Xiao Tian took out his phone to check the map. The elder had just mentioned that following the dry river to the north of the town would lead to the entrance of the Primitive Jungle. Finding Liu Hanyan’s whereabouts was of utmost importance now, so Xiao Tian did not hesitate at all and headed directly towards the north of the town after getting the information.

He hadn’t walked far when he noticed Melinda was still following him.

Melinda ran up to him with a bright smile and asked, ”Where are you going?”

Xiao Tian remained silent, not responding. Seeing this, Melinda snorted coldly and pouted her cute lips, ”What a stingy guy. I just used you as a shield for a bit, didn’t I?”

Melinda shrugged, ”Alright, alright. I know quite a lot about this forest. Consider it compensation for earlier, okay?”

At this point, Xiao Tian finally turned his gaze towards her. Melinda, walking behind Xiao Tian, continued, ”I once observed that Primitive Jungle. There’s a dense white fog swirling inside, and I can sense a very dangerous aura within it. According to local lore, that fog affects people’s sanity. Those who’ve ventured into the jungle either went missing or went crazy.”

”White fog?”

Upon hearing this from Melinda, Xiao Tian pondered. No wonder even the genius Ghost Face couldn’t accurately locate the forest with his developed detector; it seems the fog is to blame!

Soon after, Xiao Tian increased his pace. Melinda, seeing this, exclaimed in surprise, ”Aren’t you afraid of dying?”

Xiao Tian shook his head, ”I need to go deep into this jungle. There’s something very important I must do.”

At this moment, Xiao Tian looked back and saw Melinda still following him. Frowning, he asked, ”Why are you coming along?”

Melinda chuckled, ”I want to come along and see as well. You’re so strong; I’m sure I won’t get hurt!”

Seeing Melinda’s persistence, Xiao Tian stopped speaking. He knew well that Melinda was not an ordinary person, so even if he refused, she would still follow. Compared to letting her trail behind, it was better to have her by his side; it’s better than having her lurk in the shadows.

Subsequently, the two of them passed through an entrance to the north of the town and entered the Primitive Jungle.

----

In the afternoon, at an estate in the eastern part of Halam Town, the sky was clear and blue. The estate was vast, with dense vegetation and scenic beauty.

In front of the swimming pool, a man soaked in the pool, embraced by two beauties, sipping drinks and enjoying the delightful sensations brought by the two women.

Around the man, many armed guards stood watch, vigilantly observing the surroundings, and watchtowers could be seen surrounding the estate, indicating the man was of high status.

Upon careful observation, one could see a Wild Wolf tattoo on the man’s chest.

This was a symbol of his identity, akin to a local tyrant in Halam Town. The leader of the Wolf Hunting Gang, Colin! In Halam Town, he was more commonly known as ”Wild Wolf,” ruling his territory with a strong hand, no one daring to provoke him.

Colin drank fine red wine and smoked cigars bought in the city, his hands fondling the women on both sides, causing their breath to shorten, ”Haha, not bad, not bad.”

The two seductive beauties blushed, their breath fragrant like orchids, ”Colin darling, we can’t wait any longer!”

”Alright, alright, I’ll take good care of you both, hehe!” Colin laughed, ready to carry the two beauties indoors. Suddenly, the door to the courtyard was pushed open.

A blood-drenched man limped in, kneeling before Colin, wailing, ”Boss! Trouble!”

This man was the thuggish leader Jackal, whose fingers were broken by Xiao Tian earlier.

Seeing Jackal in this state, Colin glared and asked, ”What happened to you?”

”Boss.....” Jackal’s voice trembled, his tone unsteady, his face filled with fear, ”Beaten by some outsider!”

”Useless!” Colin snapped angrily, ”So why aren’t you sending people to take care of him? Why even bother telling me?”

”Boss, listen to me!” Jackal’s tone grew more terrified, accompanied by the intense pain in his hand, his face pale, ”I brought over twenty brothers, and they were all taken down by that man!”

”What did you say?” Colin’s rage exploded upon hearing twenty of his men were defeated, and he jumped out of the pool, grabbing Jackal’s collar, furious, ”He took down more than twenty of my men??”

Jackal explained in fear, ”Boss...that man is obviously skilled, like a ghost. In an instant, all of us were rendered helpless!”

”He’s seeking death!!” Colin roared, ”How much do I spend every year feeding those twenty men? Now they’re all taken down. If I don’t avenge this, how will I maintain my reputation in town? Where is he now?”

Jackal quickly replied, ”He escaped to the Primitive Jungle!”

”Primitive Jungle?”

Upon hearing these four words, Colin’s rage quieted down somewhat.

As a local, he had heard the rumors about the Primitive Jungle. It’s an exceedingly dangerous place, with beasts lurking, and any carelessness could mean becoming a beast’s next meal.

At this moment, Colin hesitated. Clearly, even someone as ruthless as him had significant apprehensions about such a ghostly place.

But with so many of his men taken down, he couldn’t swallow this anger. After a moment of silence, he finally growled with low anger, ”Hmph, we have guns, what’s there to fear! I can’t swallow this grievance; today, he must die by my gun. I want to hang his head at the town entrance!”

After speaking, Colin ordered his men to grab weapons, fully arm themselves, and a group of them boarded two Jeeps, heading grandly towards the Primitive Forest.

------

The two Jeep vehicles carried about ten people. After entering the forest, they drove for another half an hour. Soon, the surrounding area became enveloped in a white fog.

”Damn it, with such a thick fog, we can’t see a damn thing, not even an elephant!” After advancing for a while and noticing the extreme lack of visibility around, Colin couldn’t help but curse.

Screech.

At this moment, both Jeep vehicles simultaneously came to a halt.

”Why stop?” Colin shouted angrily.

”Boss...the car broke down....” The driver, covered in sweat, stared at the dashboard in front of him, where the needles darted crazily like a fan.

The driver of the other vehicle also spoke with a trembling voice, ”Boss, our car is the same...”
