God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 391: Chapter 388: Offense and Defense

”Protect the artifacts? What’s your plan?” Xiao Tian asked.

War Tiger thought for a moment and said, ”Because this time the British side has informed us. During the exhibition, the safety of the artifacts must be ensured. A lot of big forces from both domestic and abroad are coming, with countless experts under them. Each artifact is worth millions, and these guys obviously can’t sit still... Hmph. Our Huaxia’s cultural heritage, how can we let them take it as they please?”

At this point, War Tiger also smiled, ”We can ensure the safety of the artifacts during the exhibition, but as for afterwards...”

War Tiger didn’t continue, but the meaning was quite obvious: Huaxia had made up its mind this time and was prepared to secretly reclaim these artifacts!

Now the Wild Wolf Squad has been dispatched, which is enough to show how much Huaxia values these artifacts.

Xiao Tian nodded, ”I understand. When it’s time for action, I’ll help you.”

”Thank you, Chief!” War Tiger said and saluted before driving away.

There was only one day left until the exhibition started. They still had many things to discuss.

Due to Wang Meng being injured, Xiao Tian took over Wang Meng’s duties this time, responsible for leading the Shanghai police to ensure the artifacts’ safety.

In the evening, Xiao Tian specifically went to the temporary office building rented by the British side to attend a meeting and plan the protection strategy for the next day.

Xiao Tian led Zhang Xuan and others into the conference room of the office building. The British agents were already seated, with a floor plan of the exhibition venue displayed on the big screen.

Xiao Tian and others took their seats, and the meeting officially began.

Since Xiao Tian had just incapacitated several British agents, including Kings, in the morning, many of the surrounding British personnel were wary of him, their gazes cautious.

To this, Xiao Tian just smiled faintly and chose to ignore it.

The meeting was chaired by the British team leader John Tang. Seeing that everyone was present, John Tang lightly coughed and looked at the floor plan on the big screen, saying, ”The entire exhibition venue is vast, divided into internal and external areas, so we must allocate personnel reasonably to ensure the safety of the artifacts.”

Xiao Tian thought for a moment and then said, ”How about this? We have more people in the Shanghai police, and support is more convenient, so we’ll be responsible for guarding the internal part of the exhibition. The Nate Group and British agents can handle the external area and patrols.”

”Heh, I don’t think that’s necessary!” Suddenly, Jerry, sitting on the other side of the conference table, said coldly, ”Our Nate Group and the agent team will guard the internal area of the exhibition hall together. You Shanghai police only need to handle the external area.”

Jerry’s tone was very clear. He evidently didn’t trust the strength of the Shanghai police and was afraid of them embezzling the artifacts, so all the internal defense had their own people involved.

Hearing this, the meeting’s host, John Tang, also nodded, ”I agree with Jerry’s idea.”

Xiao Tian could naturally hear the suspicion and mistrust in the British side’s words. He didn’t say much, and after another half hour of idle talk, the meeting concluded.

The final result was that the Shanghai police led by Xiao Tian were responsible for external security, while the British side took charge of internal security.

----

The next day, as the sun slowly rose, bathing everything in sunlight, the air in Shanghai was exceptionally good due to the recent showers.

The ”Nate Group Cultural Artifact Exhibition,” which attracted attention from all over Huaxia, officially began. For a moment, artifact collectors from both domestic and abroad flocked to the charming city of Shanghai.

Not only artifact enthusiasts but also all major artifact magazines and media personnel were indispensable, all arriving on the scene.

Besides that, there was a surge of hidden forces spying on those practically priceless artifacts.

Some articles stated that any artifact brought to Shanghai this time could easily fetch at least thirty million US dollars at an overseas auction.

With such monetary temptation, dark forces worldwide naturally couldn’t resist taking action.

Fully aware of this, the Shanghai police put in their maximum effort for this exhibition, with a police car parked roughly every ten meters outside the venue. Many officers patrolled with guns, ready to arrest any criminals intending to steal artifacts.

Inside the building, Xiao Tian, Zhang Xuan, and a group of West Bureau policemen were responsible for the external security of the venue, watching their surroundings with vigilance.

This cultural artifact exhibition was more crowded than Xiao Tian and others had anticipated. In such spacious corridors, it was almost full of people. The ticket sellers were numerous, and the crowd was dense, like ants extending to the end.

Even though it was daytime, Xiao Tian and others dared not let their guard down in the slightest, moving cautiously among the crowd, searching for possible suspicious individuals.

An offense and defense battle was about to begin.

This bustling visit continued until it gradually subsided after dark.

In the following three days, Xiao Tian and others couldn’t leave the venue at all, so they slept on the floor at night. However, Xiao Tian’s nerves were tense.

He understood very well that night was the time for those people to act.

At night, eleven o’clock.

Only a few lights remained in the venue, dimly lit. Suddenly, a few figures appeared at the end of the corridor.

Their movements were swift, as fast as leopards. It wasn’t clear where they came from, but they quickly moved towards the inner exhibition hall.

The hall was filled with a dazzling array of artifacts, their primary target this time.

A few figures swiftly approached the interior of the venue, heading straight for a central display in the exhibition hall, where numerous ancient ceramics, bronze inscriptions, and paintings were kept, each worth a fortune.

These thieves were part of some foreign Dark organizations, seasoned experts in violence, with extremely brutal and swift methods.

”Who are you?”

At this moment, the patrolling British agents and Nate Group’s security noticed something amiss inside the venue. A group of them quickly gathered, only to see that the hall was now filled with many thieves.

”Thieves!! Hit the alarm!” Upon seeing the thieves, the British agents urgently shouted. One of them quickly pulled the alarm switch, and the sound of it reverberated throughout the venue.

A few thieves showed no fear and rushed directly towards the artifacts. Facing the obstruction of the British agents, these ruthless thieves immediately swung their knives, swiftly killing four or five British agents in an instant. Then, they shattered the glass cases with a punch and began to snatch the artifacts.

”Stop them!!”

With the alarm sounding, John Tang quickly led his team over, ordering his men to stop the thieves on the scene.

However, the thieves who came to Shanghai this time were all incredibly skilled. After several attempts to block them, the British side suffered heavy casualties.
