Chapter 371: Chapter 368: Surgery

”Did I... not hold you back this time?”

Yu Ningxue’s originally beautiful face was covered in blood, yet her gaze was full of tenderness.

Tears welled up in Xiao Tian’s eyes. He hastily shook his head.

Even though with his cultivation, it was not difficult for him to withstand bullets, a human body is not made of steel, and being hit by a bullet unprepared is dangerous. Even he could not guarantee surviving!

”To die in your arms... it’s so good...” Yu Ningxue said softly, as if she saw that moment from the summer festival in Japan again, fireworks filling the sky, the two of them kissing under the moon.

Xiao Tian held Yu Ningxue close, murmuring, ”Don’t worry, you’ll be okay. You will definitely be okay!”

Less than five minutes later, police cars from the station slowly arrived, followed by ambulances from the city hospital.

Xiao Tian completely ignored the police cars, his eyes only for Yu Ningxue. Holding her, he stepped over the cars and flew to the ambulance, shouting, ”Send her to the hospital immediately, right now!”

”Oh... okay!” The accompanying doctor originally intended to ask something, but seeing Xiao Tian’s imposing manner, he was too scared to say anything and directly got into the car.

----

”Oh my god... is that a human or a ghost?”

”He took bullets head-on and took down so many people in an instant...”

”Pinch me, am I dreaming??? I must be dreaming!!”

After Xiao Tian and his group left, several punks emerged from a bush outside the lumberyard. They had been following Xiao Tian since that day at the restaurant when they suffered losses, and now every expression was breathtakingly varied. Some faint-hearted ones were so scared by the pile of scarlet that they wet their pants.

Having harbored resentment ever since Xiao Tian sorted them out at the restaurant, they had been staking out the area intending revenge. But now they were completely frightened.

”Boss, shall we follow?” The utterly shocked punks watched Xiao Tian leaving in the ambulance and asked tentatively.

Slap!

Their boss turned around and hit them on the head angrily, ”Are you insane? Do you want to die? Get out of here, quickly!”

They finally understood that even if a hundred people came, they’d be slaughtered effortlessly. The several punks glanced at each other fearfully and left the lumberyard cautiously, not wanting to see this terrifying Xiao Tian ever again!

Shanghai Central Hospital. Intensive Care Unit.

A group of doctors stood at the door of the ICU.

Upon knowing Yu Ningxue was injured, Bai Tao immediately called renowned surgical experts from home and abroad, expressing that whoever could save Yu Ningxue could take part of the three million ransom as a reward.

Numerous renowned domestic and foreign doctors gathered at the ICU, holding discussions. They looked at the X-ray film repeatedly, yet none dared to operate.

At this moment, Xiao Tian and Bai Tao rushed over after completing formalities. Yu Ningxue was like a daughter to Bai Tao, so his face was filled with anxiety.

Because of Bai Tao’s influence, the hospital paid enough attention this time, and both the dean and vice-dean along with various department heads were present.

”How’s the situation?” Bai Tao asked urgently, Xiao Tian following behind him.

Seeing Bai Tao, Dean Lian Qingshan hurried over and said, ”The patient has a bullet in her neck, with fragments remaining on her face.”

”Then why not operate?” Bai Tao asked, puzzled.

”Alas.” Lian Qingshan sighed, glancing at a group of top doctors, ”The bullet is very close to the carotid artery. Any slight mistake could be fatal, and face fragments need removal, which might leave scars. No one dares operate!”

Lian Qingshan’s tone was filled with helplessness. He’s famed in Huaxia’s medical world for his surgical skills, yet he was clueless before Yu Ningxue.

One foreign doctor, Smith, also shook his head, ”Judging by the bullet’s location, extracting it is nearly impossible. I suggest giving up to minimize the patient’s suffering!”

”What did you say?” Hearing Smith’s words, Xiao Tian instantly got furious, walked over swiftly, and grabbed his collar.

Smith was unfazed, wearing a proud expression, ”She only has hope in the United States for treatment!”

”Hmph.” Xiao Tian snorted coldly, unwilling to waste time arguing. He pushed Smith aside, grabbed a nearby surgical cart, put on gloves, and said, ”I’m operating!”

”This...” Lian Qingshan thought Xiao Tian was venting, but Bai Tao surprisingly nodded.

”Let him do it.” Bai Tao exclaimed, having heard of Xiao Tian’s medical skills. Now, he trusts Xiao Tian entirely.

”This...” Lian Qingshan hesitated, but under Bai Tao’s insistence, he agreed, ”Alright, transfer the patient to the operating room.”

However, Lian Qingshan was unsure, considering Xiao Tian as merely a police escort, wondering if he could truly perform surgery.

Meanwhile, Smith looked at Xiao Tian with disdain, clearly doubting his ability to pull off such a challenging surgery, inwardly mocking, ”Foolish Huaxia People. Your stupidity will embarrass your doctors!”

Xiao Tian pushed the equipment cart past Lian Qingshan, saying directly, ”Dean Lian, please prepare some items for me, I’ve already listed them.”

Pulling out a note from his pocket, Xiao Tian handed it to Lian Qingshan, then proceeded into the surgical room.

Looking at the note, Lian Qingshan was puzzled, ”Bear blood? Fats? Some herbs... what’s he going to do with these?”

-----

Inside the operating room. Xiao Tian focused intently, holding a scalpel.

Xiao Tian’s hand moved slowly, the scalpel precisely and swiftly making a small incision on Yu Ningxue’s face, so fast that no blood stained the blade.

Meanwhile, his hands started different tasks.

One hand administered anesthetic, while the other picked up tweezers to deal with the bullet fragments on Yu Ningxue’s face, so quickly that all fragments were extracted within a minute. Xiao Tian then started stitching adeptly, threading and sewing seamlessly without any delays.

Xiao Tian’s actions stunned those outside. Each decision was made with accuracy and speed, especially his precision with the scalpel, impressing even Dean Lian Qingshan.

Even Smith who mocked Xiao Tian was unimpressed and scoffed, ”Hmph, let’s see how you remove the bullet from the carotid artery!”
