Chapter 376: Chapter 373: Gentleman Thief

In the past few days, Xiao Tian has become busy again.

Recently, Shanghai has encountered a series of very ”strange” thefts. It’s said to be strange because the victims are all pretentious hypocrites, corrupt officials, and wealthy tycoons making dirty money. They are often referred to as ”modern-day Robin Hoods” due to their consistent targets. Soon, the police discovered these thefts were the work of one team.

The word ”Robin” highlights the difference of these thieves. All the money and valuable items they stole were distributed to some slum areas in the city, helping some orphaned or unfortunate families.

It’s said that one morning an old lady woke up to find 20,000 yuan mysteriously left in her yard.

In just under a month, multiple thefts occurred. The theft team displayed exceptional skills, finding perfect escape routes even in the heavily surveilled Shanghai. Despite numerous heists, Shanghai police found no clues.

No matter the use of the stolen funds, theft has crossed legal boundaries, so the Shanghai police can’t turn a blind eye.

Lately, with some free time, Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue have started visiting and investigating daily. Xiao Tian also gets to flirt a little, which he enjoys quite a bit.

This particular noon, Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue were surveying as usual.

They were in a street in the western suburbs of Shanghai, where a theft recently occurred.

Xiao Tian sat in the car while Yu Ningxue drove. Feeling a bit bored in the passenger seat, Xiao Tian’s hands started to stray.

Yu Ningxue, who was pondering the recent thefts, felt Xiao Tian’s mischievous hand and blushed slightly, giving him a glare, but didn’t stop him.

As of today, she’s become accustomed to Xiao Tian’s little antics. As long as he doesn’t go too far, she generally doesn’t stop him.

However, they are on duty right now, and Yu Ningxue’s face couldn’t help but show a bit of embarrassment, ”There are people around!”

”Hehe.” Xiao Tian chuckled, glancing at Yu Ningxue in her police uniform. Her perfect figure was on display, making Xiao Tian itch with desire.

”Beautiful officer, it’s your fault for tempting me with that uniform!”

Yu Ningxue glared fiercely at Xiao Tian, ”You wish, you blockhead!”

”Hehe.” Xiao Tian chuckled and withdrew his hand, stopping the teasing. At that moment, at the intersection ahead, many middle-aged women were gathered together, discussing something.

Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue got out of the car, and Xiao Tian walked over, smiling at a plump middle-aged woman, ”Excuse me, beautiful lady, do you know anything about the recent thefts?”

”Oh, hahaha!” The plump woman burst into laughter when Xiao Tian called her beautiful, eager to spill everything she knew, ”Of course! It’s been all over lately. Just the other day, a boss from around here was robbed!”

At this point, the woman’s tone turned sour, ”Hmph, he deserved it. That boss owed workers’ wages, and the workers can’t even afford treatment. He’s a notorious stingy boss in the area, yet he’s off gambling abroad with loads of cash!”

”Exactly,” another woman chimed in, ”I think these thieves are kind-hearted. They give everything they steal to those in need!”

”Isn’t this robbing the rich to help the poor?!”

Afterward, Xiao Tian asked other people on the street. Most responses were similar, praising the thieves and despising the greedy bosses.

Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue walked down the street, and Yu Ningxue pondered, ”I can’t believe there are people like this in modern society. It sounds unbelievable, but honestly, I kind of admire them!”

Xiao Tian nodded, ”Even if their intentions are good, society naturally has a series of aid measures for those in need. Theft is ultimately too extreme and breaks the law. However, if we catch this gang in the future, we could consider showing leniency, and I believe the citizens of Shanghai would agree.”

”Hmm.”

While Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue were conversing, they suddenly heard a roaring engine close by.

Following it came a man’s scream, ”Ah... my car!!!”

”What’s happened?” Xiao Tian quickly stepped forward upon hearing this, arriving at the intersection. There, a convoy of illegally modified, brightly painted cars had taken over the entire street.

The convoy sped fiercely, clearly treating this street as their racetrack. Passing vehicles had their paint scraped off at best, and the worst hit were left completely deformed.

Due to the large number of vehicles in the convoy, the car owners who were hit could only grit their teeth in anger, without daring to speak up.

”Are these people insane?? What if they hit someone?” Yu Ningxue, witnessing the scene, looked angry and pulled out her phone, ”I’m calling Director Bai, to get some people over here!”

Just then, Xiao Tian noticed a motorcycle nearby. He hurried over and asked, ”Can I borrow your bike?”

”Oh... sure.”

The owner, seeing the convoy ahead, was dumbfounded and readily agreed to let Xiao Tian borrow the bike.

Xiao Tian got on the motorcycle without hesitation, revved it, and the motorcycle shot forward with a fierce roar, heading toward the convoy.

At the front of the convoy, Wu Xing, who was enjoying the ”street racing,” was the first to spot Xiao Tian approaching on the bike. Wu Xing’s expression turned awkward, and he spoke, ”Jerry, there’s a kid who seems to want to spoil your fun.”

The British man sitting next to Wu Xing was named Jerry. He was the president of the UK’s ”Nate Group.” He had come to Huaxia for a business exhibition. Nate Company was in business with Wu Xing’s media company, so naturally, the hosting duties fell to Wu Xing, the media company manager.

Knowing Jerry enjoyed car racing and thrills, Wu Xing had specially arranged this street racing scene today.

Jerry, in the passenger seat, glanced at Xiao Tian approaching on the motorcycle, a cold glint flashing in his eyes, ”He’s going the wrong way! Teach him a lesson!”

”Hehe.” Wu Xing chuckled maliciously and swerved the steering wheel, clearly not planning to give Xiao Tian a chance to pass, instead intending to crash directly into him.

At that moment, as Xiao Tian approached head-on, he grinned, revealing his gleaming white teeth. He drew a dagger and skillfully flung it forward.

Swoosh!

The dagger flew at a blinding speed, piercing the wheel of the luxury modified car Wu Xing and Jerry were in. Xiao Tian had infused the dagger with a touch of inner Qi, causing the wheel to burst instantly.

The car wobbled unsteadily from side to side and finally crashed into the roadside.
