Feather Firestorm was an offensive Divine Ability. Even if it was just a Minor Divine Ability, its power surpassed the imagination of ordinary people.

The temperature it generated was so terrifyingly high that even the air itself distorted. Each flame feather left a long trail of fire behind them, burning the very air.

And right at that very moment…

*Squish…* Accompanied by a sound akin to a cloth getting torn, a flame feather fell on the body of the giant Octopus. It was painful, extremely painful.

The terrifying temperature effortlessly tore through the giant Octopus’s proud defense.

Being a soft-bodied creature, its body was immune to physical force, and could easily disregard ordinary attacks. However, these flame-like feathers effortlessly tore through its defense and penetrated its body.

Yet, the true horror lay elsewhere.

The truly terrifying part was the moment the flame feather entered its body,

With a thunderous boom, and a pillar of flame soared into the sky.

*Shriek…* A painful shriek instantly filled the air. Even a creature as powerful as the giant Octopus couldn’t help but scream.

However, this was just the beginning.

*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…”

Like raindrops, numerous flame feathers descended.

The Octopus’s massive body was a living target, catching 70-80% of the flame feathers.

*Boom, boom, boom…*

One after another, pillars of flame, several meters high, continuously rose from the giant Octopus’s body. The terrifying temperature even melted the glacier.

From a distance, the giant Octopus looked like a huge ball of fire.

…

*Squeal, squeal, squeal…* The giant Octopus let out mournful cries in succession as its body began to tremble. At the same time, its tentacles entwining Yu Zi Yu’s roots started to retract.

However, all of this had long been expected by Yu Zi Yu.

A giant Octopus with just over a million Spiritual Energy was not worth Yu Zi Yu going all out. The only thing Yu Zi Yu was worried about was the giant Octopus escaping.

Now that its eight tentacles were all entwined with Yu Zi Yu’s roots, it would be strange if it managed to escape from Yu Zi Yu’s hold.

“Crystallization,” Yu Zi Yu shouted aloud, no longer suppressing himself.

In an instant, Yu Zi Yu’s eight secondary roots shone with a dazzling diamond-like brilliance with a speed visible to the naked eye.

Minor Divine Ability – Crystallization, not only could greatly enhance Yu Zi Yu’s defense, but it could also boost the strength of Yu Zi Yu’s roots. And now, the eight massive and towering roots, after turning crystallic, pulled fiercely.

The very next moment, with a deafening crash, the giant Octopus, as colossal as a city, stumbled and flew toward the island.

Right at that very moment…

*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…”

The thousands of branches swaying in the air suddenly turned red.

Elemental Attachment – Flame:Attaching Fire Element to the branch can greatly enhance the lethality of the branches.

“Hello there.” A cold smile flashed on Yu Zi Yu’s lips as his thousands of branches pierced through the snowstorm, one after another.

One became ten, ten became hundred…

In an instant, Yu Zi Yu’s branches filled the sky, shooting straight toward the giant Octopus like raindrops.

However, just at this moment, Yu Zi Yu’s pupils slightly contracted, as if discovering something.

Suddenly, Yu Zi Yu discovered that the giant Octopus, which had been reduced into a ball of flames, had its lantern-like crimson eyes flickering with madness.

At the same time, its mouth slowly opened.

*Roar…*

A deafening cry escaped from its mouth as a dark color, like jet-black ink, began to shimmer in its mouth.

In an instant, with a thunderous crash, a thick pillar of jet-black water spurted out of its mouth, shooting straight toward the island where Yu Zi Yu was.

“What’s that!?” Subconsciously, warning bells started ringing in Yu Zi Yu’s mind. He promptly pulled his branches, switching from offense to defense, continuously weaving them together until they formed layer upon layer of a large net.

However, just in the next moment, much to Yu Zi Yu’s astonishment, the thick pillar of jet black black water effortlessly tore through his resilient branches.

It was highly corrosive, unimaginably so.

Even Yu Zi Yu’s branches, upgraded to Level 4, could not withstand it.

Fortunately, Yu Zi Yu had quite a lot of branches stacked layer upon layer, and they managed to effectively block this jet black spurt of water.

However, as a consequence, most of Yu Zi Yu’s branches had disappeared.

“Tch, how terrifying. If it were an ordinary Mutant Beast, it would probably be wiped out instantly,” admiring in his mind, Yu Zi Yu also realized that those who could advance to the Tier-3 were not easy to deal with.

And that was also why he managed to save himself at the expense of his branches. After all, with his Innate Talent – Super Regeneration, he could have as many branches as he wanted.

The loss was only in terms of Spiritual Energy.

…

While Yu Zi Yu might have managed to survive, the same could not be said for the island he was rooted on. It was riddled with thousands of holes, each one an extremely deep pit.

And where that jet-black pillar of water passed through, it left behind an abyssal trench. The entire island seemed to be torn apart by this jet-black spurt.

Unique Abilities: Black Pillar— It can shoot a jet of ink that resembles much like a beam of energy, which is terrifyingly corrosive and melts through everything. What is even more frightening is that its corrosion can only be endured, not resisted.

“Can only endure, not resist?” muttering to himself, Yu Zi Yu stared at the terrifying trench that tore through more than half of the island, realizing vaguely what it meant.

[It should mean that no matter how formidable one’s defenses were, the jet-black water pillar would corrode through them. Just like how a drop of jet-black water melted the ground and left a thumb-sized and ten-meter-deep hole before the corrosive power of the drop of black water was finally exhausted.]

“Haaa…” Yu Zi Yu’s eyes widened in amazement before the corner of his lips rose into a smile.

[Tier-3 Transcendents indeed could not be underestimated. Nonetheless, I still have the upper hand.] Thinking this, countless branches shot from Yu Zi Yu once again.

*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…”

Like raindrops, the branches struck the body of the giant Octopus one by one.

The next moment, accompanied by consecutive deafening explosions, blazing flames surged once again.

*Squeal…* Amidst mournful cries, the entire frozen sea shook incessantly.

At this moment, the Mutant Octopus’s tentacles in the air, entwined with Yu Zi Yu’s roots, could not help but tremble as if attempting to retract.

However, would Yu Zi Yu give it that opportunity?

Smirking, Yu Zi Yu’s Spiritual Energy surged once again.

The next moment…

Countless branches, covered in blazing flames, suddenly turned white as a thin layer of frost covered them.

Simultaneously, a chilling aura surged along the branches, heading continuously toward the Mutant Octopus.

Elemental Attachment – Extreme Cold: Attaching Ice Element to the branch, the branches can freeze anything they touch.

Under the power of this Extreme Cold, the colossal and terrifying Octopus, the size of a city, gradually started to freeze. And not just from the surface, but, more frighteningly, even the blood pumping inside it began to freeze.

And this was the current strength Yu Zi Yu possessed. By proficiently manipulating Spiritual Energy, alternating between hot and cold, he effortlessly subdued this Tier-3 Transcendent Mutant Octopus.

Yes, suppress, not annihilate.

Compared to killing, capturing it alive was the true challenging task.
