Eternal Thief

“No, impossible!” The Young Marquis of the Abyssal Bone Clan was the first to react as his complexion went ghastly pale with terror.

After all, if that mysterious guy really had such a close connection with the Dread Duchess, then he was in a lot of trouble. Furthermore, the Hall Proprietor throwing him out of Room 1 for that mysterious guy also made sense at this moment.

Not only the Young Marquis, but the woman who had been appointed to keep an eye on the Young Marquis also trembled in horror as the gravity of the situation dawned on her.

They could offend anyone but the Dread Duchess, and someone close to her, but the fool of the Abyssal Bone Clan just has to offend someone who could even get his hands on Ebon Vein Nectar.

Furthermore, the Young Marquis had also sent a message back to the Abyssal Bone Marquis, and knowing the latter’s personality, he was most likely on his way here. The woman became even more afraid, and without hesitation, she ran out of the room to inform the Abyssal Bone Marquis about the gravity of the situation.

Although the Young Marquis had offended that person, he still didn’t go too far, and the situation was still salvageable.

On the other hand, the other guests in the VIP rooms were also flabbergasted, and a chill ran down their spines when they thought about the person sitting within Room 1. Some of them even thought it was the Dread Duchess herself!

At that moment, Lucy quickly composed herself and announced with a charming smile, “The esteemed guest in Room 1 has just made the first bid for tonight’s final auction item!”

She then glanced meaningfully towards Room 1 before scanning the other rooms.

“Now, if there’s no one else who can counter this bid, the Ancient Abyssal Permit will be sold to the VVIP in the Room!”

At that moment, the Hall Proprietor, who was standing behind the stage, was sweating buckets as he never thought the mysterious person, followed by the Vaultkeeper, would be closer to the Dread Duchess to such an extent.

“We aren’t taking any more bids, wrap it up!” He instantly sent a spirit transmission to Lucy as he didn’t want to agitate the guest in the VIP room 1 anymore.

Lucy didn’t refute as she had the same trail of thoughts as the Hall Proprietor, and announced, “The Ancient Abyssal Permit is sold to VVIP in Room 1!

“And with this, today’s auction has come to an end. Please leave in an orderly manner, and the servants will guide you out. As for those who have won items, please wait in your respective seats and rooms. Someone will approach you soon with your items and collect the payment.

“Oh, and one more thing, if problems occurred during transition, like if someone couldn’t pay for the item, the Obsidian Spirit Hall can take drastic measures…” Behind Lucy’s charming smile was a blunt threat as she swept her gaze to those who were sitting in the lower seats, “But I know such a thing won’t happen, since everyone here is a distinguished guest with status. Now, I won’t take your time. Thank you for participating in today’s auction!”

With that, Lucy quickly left the stage, and the guests who hadn’t won anything started to make their way towards the exit.

Within Room 1, Ace stayed like everyone else, and the Vaultkeeper was standing behind him quietly like a loyal follower.

Ace was still excited about acquiring the Ancient Abyssal Permit. Still, he was also worried since the Dread Duchess proposed a condition before she agreed to let him trade with the Ebon Vein Nectar for the permit.

However, at that moment, Ace had something else he needed to take care of, so he couldn’t be distracted. As the guests in the lower seats were leaving, Ace was closely looking at each of them like a hawk.

At that moment, Ace’s eyes locked on a tall, slim figure hidden under a long mantle, and he was mixed within the crowd of the retreating guests, no one paying attention.

Suddenly, within the depth of his pupils’ silvery light surfaced before the glyphs around his sockets vibrated. He focused his gaze directly on the mantle-wearing figure.

Not even the Vaultkeeper noticed the activation of the Grand Mirror Phantom scripture!

The moment Ace activated the force art, the Mirror Embryo within his knowledge sea came alive. For an instant, Ace’s target trembled violently—as though it felt something dreadful gazing back at it.

But before he could react, a translucent silver ripple burst from Ace’s eyes, piercing into the target’s soul!

The target soul quivered while his body outside suddenly became stunned, and it all happened instantly before his soul distorted and was dragged by an invisible force into the Mirror Embryo!

However, only Ace himself could see the translucent soul being dragged towards him, and he was astounded as he felt his soul force envelop the target’s soul like an unbreakable seal, while the soul struggled and filled with terror.

At that moment, the victim’s soul finally drifted into the Mirror Embryo, though as it was absorbed within his apex crown, it fell like a falling star into the embryonic mirror heart!

Ace observed everything as the liquid surface of the embryonic mirror opened silently, swallowing the soul fragment.

At that moment, the floating shards within the mirror embryo suddenly stirred, and the next moment, one of the shards pounced on the soul as it warped around the soul, and started to reshape!

No matter how the soul struggled, it couldn’t break free from his inevitable fate, and Ace could feel the soul belonged to an Abyssal Guardian!

Furthermore, as the shard devoured the soul, its memories began to enter Ace’s knowledge sea, but the process wasn’t chaotic. It was very gentle, and it was without any refinement process, as if they were Ace’s memoirs to begin with.

Not only that, but those memories have no effect on Ace’s personality at all, and they seem to be under his complete control. At that moment, Ace even felt that he could annihilate those memories at will, making him astounded!

Within three seconds, the soul was devoured entirely, and now it reflected the appearance, soul aura, and everything of that soul’s owner, and the shard now looked just like the victim.

However, it wasn’t a living soul anymore, but it had become a mirrored persona, ready to be worn by Ace at his behest!
