Eternal Thief

Ravencrown appeared outside Eleanor’s workshop and gave the closed door a meaningful glare before she started walking towards the tower floor entrance.

When the guards saw Ravencrown, they quickly bowed in respect; they clearly knew her status. Ravencrown didn’t give them a second look and walked past them before she headed toward the upper floor of the tower.

The King’s Anvil has 99 floors, and each floor is filled with different facilities for forgers to hone their craft, except for the 99th floor, which was actually the place where the tower master, the Count Anvil, lived and oversaw all the tower. He was also the lord of the Runic Forge City while a higher-up of the Runic King Crown Palace!

Ravencrown took a floating platform and appeared on the 98th floor, which was actually where the three marquises of the tower lived, and they were high elder-level figures of the Runic King Crown Palace!

Zaria was closely following Ravencrown, for she had ditched Eleanor. After all, Ravencrown clearly has a higher status in Nightfall Ravenhood than Eleanor, and Zaria is afraid that if she stuck with Eleanor, she might end up committing murder!

But Zaria was astounded when she found Ravencrown’s destination was the 98th floor because she knew the three marquises here were almost on the same realm as her, if not stronger, so her chances of being found out were relatively high.

Nonetheless, this also made her curious about how deep the Ravencrown had infiltrated the King’s Anvil and what the Nightfall Ravenhood was up to.

But her sneaky footsteps halted when she noticed Ravencrown was walking in the direction where the Cloud Marquis lived, and her cat eyes flickered with a hint of shock.

‘I can’t go any further, or that annoying guy will probably detect me… what should I do? Should I go back and report this finding or start investigating Ravencrown’s identity?

‘Furthermore, she told that lying bitch to look for the location of Count Anvil’s son. How was this secret information exposed? Only Count rank elders know about his existence, but Count Anvil has hidden him somewhere for some reason.

‘What did these guys want with him? Could it be they want to take him as a hostage and threaten the Count? But for what exactly? I only knew about his existence because Old Goat couldn’t keep his mouth shut, and he even seemed to have a hand in hiding him.

‘Furthermore, he may have mentioned the reason, but I wasn’t paying attention back then… how infuriating!’ Zaria was extremely frustrated as she laminated at her bad luck.

In the end, she decides to remain hidden for a while before she starts investigating Ravencrown. After all, she didn’t want to give Ace any reason to cut her house points.

After a while, just when Zaria was convinced that Ravencrown was probably a disciple of Cloud Marquis, her furry ears twitched as she picked up on incoming footsteps, and from the familiar pattern, she instantly knew it was most likely Ravencrown!

Just as she suspected, Ravencrown appeared again as she gracefully walked towards the exit again, which confused Zaria, but she followed nevertheless.

This time, Ravencrown descended the tower and appeared on the first floor. Her destination was the teleportation hall of the tower, which connected the tower, the Runic King Crown Palace, and the other two sect cities.

Zaria was shocked, as she knew she could no longer follow Ravencrown without knowing where she was heading. If she revealed herself, she would alert the elders of the teleportation hall since they knew who she was, which would be very troublesome.

In the end, she can only watch Ravencrown disappearing with frustration; she has lost her only lead to figure out the Nightfall Ravenhood plans.

Sighing helplessly, she left the tower and decided to return to her shop. She could’ve observed Eleanor, but she knew it was useless since she would be coming here soon to tell Ace what Ravencrown instructed her.

She must report it first and trick Ace into giving her the reward since if Ace gets the news from Eleanor; it won’t count as her merits anymore.

Zaria didn’t reveal her true self while going back since she was on guard against the ravens now because she thought they might be keeping an eye on her shop, and she wanted to try to pinpoint the watcher if it existed, that is.

After all, this could be another lead, and she could claim her reward with her head held high. With such thoughts, she became determined and quickly spread her law sense when she was close to her shop, making sure not to alert anyone.

Zaria knew she was the strongest in this place and even in the entire city; only the marquises and count could detect her. So, there was very little chance of someone else finding her.

As Zaria spreads her law sense, she quickly detects the people in various shops and some passersby. But she didn’t find anything suspicious. However, she didn’t give up so quickly as she kept observing while slowly spreading her law sense further.

Once her law sense was spread over a hundred-mile radius, her eyes narrowed ever so slightly because she detected something unusual.

‘Why would an ordinary Qi light pole be emitting spirit Qi with law traces?’ Zaria’s eyes shone with a peculiar glint as the more she focused on this strange light pole, the more she felt it was out of place.

She instantly decided to investigate and sneakily headed in the light pole’s direction; she made sure to completely hide herself in darkness.

Zaria finally appeared a few meters away from the suspicious light pole, and with her terrifying eyesight, she observed it. At this moment, she used an optical spell, and the light pole’s entire structure and everything within became visible.

Everything was the same except for one thing: Zaria found a black runic mark hidden within the pole’s head, and this black mark was shaped like an eye. Furthermore, she saw an ethereal black thread connected with this eye mark, which even her law sense could detect, and only with her cultivation base and spell could someone see that thread.

Zaria’s eyes shimmered with a hint of coldness as she knew she had found her next target, ‘These bastards dare to spy on my shop? What if they had hurt Leah? They’re all courting death!’
