Eternal Thief

It’s been a week since Zaria had joined the Thief House, while three weeks passed in the thief’s house because of the time multiplier.

Zaria was sitting at the shop counter, which was quite an unusual sight, but she seemed to be deep in thought as if she were contemplating something while she fiddled with the steaming tobacco pipe.

‘The Thief’s House is really a treasure capable of time manipulation, and it even expands. Although the Perverted Leader hadn’t told me how this expansion worked, the moment the place expanded, the spirit of Qi seemed to have grown even further.

‘But I can’t ask since that shitty bastard has closed himself somewhere, and I can’t even use my law sense to probe any of those private chambers except my own. He even dared to use me as a guard and didn’t even pay his dues…’ Zaria clenched her teeth with indignation as she glared towards the wall, which was actually the entrance of the thief’s house.

As a member of Thief’s House, only she can see and feel it, while others have to be looking for it, and only then can they find it.

Then Zaria clicked her tongue as she shook her head, ‘Whatever, since now he can guarantee Leah’s safety with this Thief’s House, and I can grow without limit according to him, it’s a good chance to leave this shitty place behind. At least I won’t have to see that old pervert’s insufferable face.

‘Besides, the little brat seemed to like it very much in there, and she even shifted all her stuff to my cultivation chamber while I haven’t even placed a single thing, and she refused to leave…’ Zaria pursed her lips when she thought about Leah’s amusing behavior but deep down she was relieved and happy for Leah.

Her biggest concern was Leah’s acceptance, but the little girl didn’t even seem to care as long as she got to live in the thief’s house.

At this moment, Zaria’s thoughts were disrupted when the bell at the entrance door chimed, which was rare, as she looked towards the reckless newcomer with a hint of amusement.

A curvaceous woman in a veil walked in, and despite the veil, one could tell she was a beauty with striking golden hair and eyes.

Zaria was surprised not because of this woman’s appearance since she didn’t lack anything and even surpassed her in some areas; she was surprised because this woman was wearing white robes and there was an emblem of the black anvil on her chest.

‘A Disciple of King’s Anvil Tower? What is she doing in this part of the city?’ Zaria wondered, and from the fierce look in this woman’s eyes, Zaria could feel hostility, which made her wonder if she had extorted someone this woman knew.

But Zaria wasn’t worried because she was a Disciple of the King’s Anvil Tower. Although the King’s Anvil was part of the Runic King Palace and only outer palace disciples or higher-ranked palace members could gain entry there, the King’s Anvil Tower also served as a recruitment ground to select disciples.

Furthermore, to gain entry there, one needs a certificate and to pass a test. This would just open the door to the palace because these required members to show their talent further and pass many trials before they could be official disciples and gain entry to the Runic King Palace.

If they failed, they’d be mercilessly kicked out, and typically, only the people outside the Great Crown Domain were required to go through these trials. Those certificates were hard to come by since the elders of the palace left them in locations for fortuitous ones.

This is one of the customs of the Runic King Palace, and since the woman had successfully become King’s Anvil Tower Disciple, this means she was not only lucky but also a talented forger.

However, for some reason, Zaria found this woman quite familiar, as if she had seen her somewhere, but she clearly remembered never encountering her before.

At this moment, when Zaria was curiously looking at the woman, the woman was also glaring at Zaria, and her beautiful eyes narrowed dangerously as she stomped toward Zaria.

“Where is he?!” She bluntly questioned in tone.

“Who?” Zaria had no idea what she was talking about.

The woman slammed her hand on the desk and furiously berated, “My Servant that you have detained willfully!”

“Servant? Detained?” Zaria muttered in confusion before her eyes widened ever so slightly. She instantly remembered why she had found this woman familiar and that she had only detained a single person in her life.

‘This is Eleanor! I’ve seen her in the memories he had given him using that star slip!’ Realization dawned on Zaria, but she didn’t reveal it as she knew Ace’s plan and Eleanor’s possible identity as a member of the Nightfall Ravenhood with the codename, ‘Ravenmind!’

But with a thug-like personality and arrogance, Zaria became furious since this Eleanor was simply too overbearing and seemed to think little of hers. Furthermore, she knew Ace’s secret; now, he was her leader, so it irked her when Eleanor called him her Servant.

Although she knew Ace was merely acting, she still had to accept the ways of thieves.

Zaria snorted as her spiritual pressure suddenly weighed down on Eleanor, making the latter alarmed since she could instantly tell that Zaria was far stronger than hers and the rumors about her strength weren’t baseless.

But Eleanor wouldn’t be here if she was afraid. She was worried about Ace but too busy in becoming the disciple of the King’s Anvil and couldn’t leave since it was a very important part of their mission.

However, the moment she achieved her goal, she instantly sought out Raven and discovered that Ace was ‘eliminated,’ she felt her heart stop for a moment and couldn’t believe it.

So, despite Raven’s warnings, she decided to investigate, and because of her new status, she soon discovered that Ace had never been to the Trinity Lord Workshop. After poking around a bit, she found that the scourge of the Runic Forge City had seemed to capture an innocent man and made her a shopkeeper about the same time when Ace left their meeting place to go to the western district.

Zaria had no idea how infamous she was, and those who were afraid or interested in her because of her peculiar tendencies and Falcon’s status all secretly kept an eye on her, especially those shops around her.

It wasn’t because they wanted to harm her; no one would dare to because of Falcon, but they wanted to make sure they weren’t her next target.

So, despite Zaria’s reputation, Eleanor quickly came here to see whether this ‘prisoner’ was Ace or not.

After all, Eleanor knew about Ace’s secret, which was his bloodline and cloning abilities. At least, that is what Ace made her believe. But for her, he was too important to be just discarded like that.

“Little girl, if you don’t want a beating, I suggest you leave right now while I’m being nice.” Zaria coldly uttered.

Eleanor’s eyes flashed with a hint of killing intent as she was also a prideful woman, but she knew this fight was a lost cause from the start since not even Raven could go against this woman.

But she endured the urge to punch Zaria’s face and said, “I want Ace back. He’s under Law Contract regulations. So, state your price!”

Eleanor knew Zaria loved money, so she decided to use this approach since it might not work against her.

“Price, huh?” Zaria was annoyed since she knew Ace was no longer under her control; she even wondered if there was anything that could control that scoundrel conman.

She could tell Eleanor was completely under Ace’s control without even realizing it, which was quite dreadful when she thought about it.

But Zaria still found Eleanor quite annoying and was about to teach this reckless girl a lesson when she found that Eleanor wasn’t looking at her; instead, she was looking right beside and her eyes widened as if she had seen a ghost.

Zaria’s expression turned strange, and she looked beside her, and what she saw almost frightened her.

Next to her was sitting an Immortal like man with perfect features as he wore a gentle smile that could charm anyone, it was Ace, who had appeared right beside her without even her realizing it!
