Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Double Happiness

Wangcai was incredibly worried. It was unheard of for a normal person to take a whole week to break through to the Qi Sea Realm. But despite his worry, he didn’t dare enter and disturb Lin Yun. He could only sigh at the door and quietly take his leave.

Meanwhile, as Lin Yun sat cross-legged on his bed, his two Qi Seas had nearly finished forming. At that exact moment, however, his body underwent a sudden change.

This unexpected development made Lin Yun smile wryly. He didn’t know what to make of it. It was certainly a good thing, as his two Cultivation Techniques had started to operate on their own—a sign of an impending breakthrough.

But on the other hand, he was at the final, critical stage of his breakthrough to the Qi Sea Realm. With his two Cultivation Techniques also on the verge of advancing, Lin Yun would have to divide his attention. One wrong move could cause the breakthrough to fail, rendering all his previous efforts useless.

’To hell with it. If they’re going to break through, then let’s have them all break through at once!’ A heroic ambition surged within him. Lin Yun divided his focus, guiding the final formation of his Qi Seas with one part of his mind while consciously circulating his two Cultivation Techniques to initiate their own breakthroughs with the other.

To break through to the Second Layer of the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique, he had to circulate both techniques to their absolute limits. In addition, he had to further refine the Elemental Power of both techniques, making it even purer.

The condensation of his Qi Seas had reached its final step, so Lin Yun focused his attention there first. He could only safely attempt to break through to the Second Layer of his two Cultivation Techniques after his Qi Seas were completely stabilized.

They grew increasingly stable, and the Golden Light and blood-red glow shone with ever greater brilliance. Lin Yun didn’t dare to relax in the slightest. A full hour passed before the two Qi Seas finally, and completely, took form.

With his Qi Seas fully formed, Lin Yun breathed a small sigh of relief. With no time to rest, he refocused his mind and began to concentrate on the breakthrough of his two Cultivation Techniques.

As he circulated the two Cultivation Techniques, already operating at their limits, their respective Elemental Powers grew increasingly pure.

The Demon Emperor Technique’s crimson Elemental Power now reeked of blood, while the War God Technique’s golden Elemental Power carried a piercing quality, like a keen blade that could shatter anything it touched.

The first step of any Cultivation Technique breakthrough is refinement. This process purifies the Elemental Power within the body, making the naturally attributeless Heaven and Earth Primordial Power more compatible with the technique.

Driven by the two Cultivation Techniques, the Elemental Power began its refinement. Because the two techniques were completely different—even diametrically opposed—the refinement process was naturally fraught with difficulty.

Another full seven days passed, and the Elemental Power in Lin Yun’s body had still not completed its refinement. By this time, Wangcai and his father could no longer sit still. The two of them sat in the main hall, where Wang Tianwen voiced his concern. ”Lin Yun has been in seclusion for half a month now. Could something have gone wrong?”

”I... I don’t think so,” Wangcai replied, hearing the worry in his father’s voice. He wasn’t so sure himself anymore. The time Lin Yun had been in there was several times longer than a normal person’s breakthrough should take.

”Why don’t we go in and have a look?” Wang Tianwen suggested.

After agonizing over it for a while, Wangcai ultimately refused. When Lin Yun had begun his breakthrough, he had explicitly warned them not to disturb him. Wangcai didn’t dare barge into Lin Yun’s room.

”Are we just going to wait out here forever? What if something has really gone wrong?”

Wang Tianwen had a point. After much deliberation, the two finally decided they would wait another seven days. If Lin Yun still hadn’t emerged from his seclusion by then, they would go in.

Inside the room, Lin Yun was, of course, unaware of the father and son’s worries. At this point, the refinement of his two Cultivation Techniques was finally complete. Two diametrically opposed auras emanated from his body: one of shining Golden Light, and another a surging, blood-red aura.

Even the Little Ape, which had been at Lin Yun’s side, backed away in terror at the sight. It too was a product of both the Divine and Demon Realms—a Demon Beast rejected by heaven and earth—though it was unaware of its own nature.

For one person to simultaneously erupt with the auras of both the Divine and Demon Realms was a truly shocking sight.

After refining his Elemental Power, the next step was to open his meridians. Each breakthrough to a new layer of a Cultivation Technique opens new meridians. Generally speaking, a Yellow Level Technique cultivated to its peak could open ten meridians. However, if one cultivated such a technique and never switched to a better one, their lifetime achievements would be extremely limited.

After all, the number of meridians one opens determines how widely their Elemental Power can circulate throughout their body. The fewer the meridians, the lower one’s potential achievements.

The human body has a total of ninety-nine meridians. The War God Technique and Demon Emperor Technique that Lin Yun cultivated were both top-tier Divine Skill Techniques; the First Layer alone had opened ten meridians.

To break through to the Second Layer, Lin Yun had to open another ten meridians.

Following the circulation path for the Second Layer of the two Cultivation Techniques, Lin Yun began to open the ten meridians.

The first took one hour, the second took two hours... By the time he reached the tenth meridian, he had already spent half a day.

He carefully controlled his Elemental Power. Opening meridians was a delicate task. If one used too much force, the meridians, which had not yet been tempered by Elemental Power, could easily rupture. But if one used too little, they would lack the strength to break through.

Striking the right balance of force was the key to successfully opening the meridians.

Furthermore, the task was several times more difficult for Lin Yun than for an ordinary person. This was because as he opened each meridian, he also had to split it in two, allowing the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique to circulate within them without interfering with each other.

It took a full three days, but Lin Yun finally opened all ten meridians. With them open, the circulation for the Second Layer of both Cultivation Techniques became smooth and unobstructed.

In an instant, Lin Yun felt the circulation of Elemental Power within his body become effortlessly smooth and extremely fast. At the same time, the speed at which he absorbed the surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Power skyrocketed by several times.

’So this is the Second Layer of the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique?’ Lin Yun carefully savored the benefits brought by the Second Layer of the two techniques.

He wasn’t particularly surprised by the advance of the War God Technique. The golden Elemental Power became as sharp as a blade’s edge. It could be said that the quality of his Elemental Power was now on par with that of a Martial Artist at the Late Stage of the Qi Sea Realm.

At the same time, because of the War God Technique, it became much easier for him to comprehend Battle Intent. In fact, just by breaking through to the Second Layer, his Battle Intent had naturally reached the cusp of Great Perfection.

The War God Technique had grown much stronger, and so had the Demon Emperor Technique. Its crimson Elemental Power now contained a dense Evil Qi. This aura alone was enough to make one’s blood run cold. ’Imagine an opponent in battle having to face such a potent Evil Qi. They would be under immense psychological pressure before the fight even began.’

’The Blood Man...’ Seeing the Blood Man in his Qi Sea, Lin Yun couldn’t wait to have it execute Inch Step.

Previously, at Tier One, the Demon Emperor Technique’s Blood Man could only manifest the True Intent of Profound Level Martial Skills. Now that he had broken through to Tier Two, Lin Yun was eager to see if it could manifest the True Intent of an Earth Level Martial Skill.

His heart leaped with joy. From the Blood Man, Lin Yun was stunned to see the Inch Step performed with True Intent...

With True Intent, the Inch Step manifested by the Blood Man was more than three times stronger than the one Lin Yun could currently perform. The speed left even him breathless with admiration.

’An Earth Level Martial Skill with comprehended True Intent is truly something else. With this speed, I could even keep up with an expert at the Early Stage of the Primordial Ocean Realm...’ Lin Yun mused.
