Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Sinister Master and Disciple

The arrival of the Yue Family caused no stir among the Academy’s experts. In their eyes, a minor family like the Yue, which didn’t even have a Primordial Ocean Realm expert, was utterly insignificant.

That night, Zhong Lin informed Lin Yun about the Yue Family and the life-and-death match with their Martial Artist scheduled for the next day.

”Master, don’t worry,” Lin Yun replied confidently after hearing Zhong Lin out.

”I know what you’re capable of, but you must be careful. With the Yue Family showing up like this, it’s clear someone is backing them,” Zhong Lin said.

’Someone behind them?’ Lin Yun didn’t even have to think. ’If the Yue Family has backing, it must be Tang Wushuang and his master. Who else could it be?’

The Yue Family was lodged in a courtyard on the Academy’s outskirts, a place reserved for visiting guests. While not luxurious, it was decent enough.

”Young Master Tang, we have no confidence in tomorrow’s life-and-death match. That brat Lin Yun’s combat power is plain for all to see. An ordinary Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm martial artist doesn’t stand a chance,” Yue Xiuchuan’s father said to Tang Wushuang inside the room.

This was all Tang Wushuang’s plan, so it was only natural for him to come to the Yue Family to confer.

Upon hearing Yue Xiuchuan’s father, Tang Wushuang gave a cold smile. He had already anticipated this and had even gone to his master to request a special elixir.

”Swallow this elixir before the match tomorrow. It will guarantee you kill Lin Yun.” As he spoke, Tang Wushuang retrieved a brocade box from his Space Ring. Inside rested a blood-red elixir.

Seeing the elixir, Yue Xiuchuan’s father was stunned for a few seconds before exclaiming in shock, ”The Blood Burst Pill...”

The Blood Burst Pill, an Earth Level Four-Stars elixir, was considered a Forbidden Elixir by Martial Artists. Its power was immense; by consuming it, a Martial Artist could increase their strength severalfold for a full hour.

However, its side effects were just as potent. After the hour was up, the Martial Artist who had taken the pill would die from their body exploding—an unavoidable fate. In other words, taking a Blood Burst Pill meant embracing mutual destruction.

Ignoring the Yue Family members’ terrified and conflicted expressions, Tang Wushuang said indifferently, ”That’s right. Swallow the Blood Burst Pill before the match tomorrow. Once you’ve killed Lin Yun, I guarantee I’ll make the Yue Family the number one family in Yunlu County.”

Tang Wushuang knew that using the Blood Burst Pill meant sacrificing a Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist. Without giving the Yue Family a promise, they would never commit to such a path.

Sure enough, after receiving Tang Wushuang’s promise, the expressions on the Yue Family members eased, and a hint of determination appeared in their eyes.

To gain the full support of Yunlu County’s Young Prince, sacrificing a Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist was not an unacceptable price. Besides, it was to kill Lin Yun, which made it a worthwhile trade.

With their decision made, the Yue Family had no more worries. With the Blood Burst Pill, Lin Yun’s death was certain, and on top of that, they had Tang Wushuang’s promise.

’Lin Yun, let’s see you survive tomorrow,’ Tang Wushuang sneered inwardly.

The night passed in silence. The next day at noon, Lin Yun left the Bamboo Courtyard alone and headed for the Academy’s Martial Arts Arena.

The life-and-death match between Lin Yun and the Yue Family was no longer a secret among the disciples of the Genius Class. As noon arrived, Lu Bingning, Lan Xi, Qin Feng, and Li Tian all made their way to the Martial Arts Arena.

Seeing Lin Yun approach, Qin Feng was the first to speak. ”Brother Lin, go kill that son of a bitch! These guys don’t know what’s good for them.”

”Be careful,” Lu Bingning said.

”This isn’t so simple. Don’t let your guard down,” Li Tian warned.

The group took turns cautioning Lin Yun. When it was her turn, Lan Xi, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke. ”Tang Wushuang went to see the Yue Family last night.”

Faced with their warnings, a smile appeared on Lin Yun’s face. He motioned for them not to worry, that he could handle it.

No Academy experts came to watch the affair between Lin Yun and the Yue Family. Even if they had, they likely wouldn’t have shown themselves.

At that moment, high up in the sky, two figures stood in the air: Zhong Lin and Elder Bai. Looking down at Lin Yun, Elder Bai asked with some confusion, ”You clearly know that Tang Wushuang’s master gave the Yue Family a Blood Burst Pill. Why did you still let Lin Yun come?”

Hearing this, Zhong Lin gave a faint smile. ”You think a single Blood Burst Pill is enough to kill my student? Rest assured. This time, I’m going to make that master and disciple suffer a double loss.”

Lin Yun calmly walked onto the Martial Arts Arena. Looking at the Yue Family Martial Artist before him, he said evenly, ”Let’s begin.”

At his words, the Yue Family Martial Artist wasted no time and immediately launched an attack. Having swallowed the Blood Burst Pill, his time was precious; he only had one hour.

Though originally only at the Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm, under the effects of the Blood Burst Pill, the Yue Family Martial Artist now unleashed power on par with a Fifth Layer Qi Sea Realm Martial Artist.

Wielding such combat power, the Yue Family Martial Artist launched a ferocious assault from the very beginning, completely suppressing Lin Yun.

As an Earth Level Four-Stars elixir, the Blood Burst Pill’s effects were terrifying. Lin Yun knew at once that his opponent must have consumed some sort of elixir to unleash such combat power.

Instead of clashing head-on, Lin Yun relied on his Body Technique, constantly dodging and occasionally launching counterattacks.

”Kill him, quickly!” As time ticked by, Yue Xiuchuan’s father grew increasingly anxious. Once an hour passed, forget about killing Lin Yun—their own Yue Family Martial Artist would explode and die.

Lin Yun’s superb Body Technique left the Yue Family Martial Artist with immense brute force but no way to use it. This scene not only made the Yue Family anxious, but also Tang Wushuang and his master, who were hiding in the shadows.

”What a useless piece of trash! He’s this pathetic even with a Blood Burst Pill.” Cursing furiously, Tang Wushuang stared daggers at Lin Yun.

Beside him, Tang Wushuang’s master wore a grim expression. He had secretly given this Blood Burst Pill to the Yue Family. The Academy could not find out about this, or he would surely face punishment.

And now, the Yue Family’s failure to kill Lin Yun made Tang Wushuang’s master grow impatient. If this dragged on, all his previous efforts would come to nothing.

’What a bunch of good-for-nothings,’ Tang Wushuang thought, agitated. He felt the urge to intervene himself, wishing he could rush out and help the Yue Family Martial Artist kill Lin Yun.

”Forget it. I’ll bear a lifetime of infamy and kill this boy myself,” Tang Wushuang’s master sighed, his brow furrowed. Then, he released his Divine Thought, scanning the surroundings for any Academy experts.

”Finally can’t hold it in anymore? Old Bai, you’re up,” Zhong Lin said with a smile to Elder Bai beside him, sensing the movement from Tang Wushuang’s master.

”You, you really are a sly old fox, roping both Tang Wushuang and his master into your scheme,” Elder Bai replied with a laugh. Immediately after, Elemental Power flared from his body, tightly enveloping the two of them. Under the shroud of Elder Bai’s Elemental Power, their auras were completely sealed, as if they had vanished into thin air.
