Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: You’re My Big Brother

Having been tormented nearly to death on their journey, Wangcai and Li Ji harbored a twisted, vicious hatred. Hearing Lin Yun’s words now, the two of them were overcome with vindictive glee.

With sinister smiles, they advanced on the trio. Moments later, at the hands of Wangcai and Li Ji, the three let out bloodcurdling screams like pigs being slaughtered. The sounds were utterly wretched.

Ignoring them, Lin Yun turned his gaze to the Anti-Aging Grass. There were six stalks in total. If exchanged for Low Grade Primordial Stones, they would be worth at least ten thousand.

Lin Yun didn’t know the exact demand for Anti-Aging Grass among the noblewomen of the Capital City, but he was certain that no woman would turn it down.

The pig-like screams echoed endlessly. A full hour passed before Wangcai and Li Ji finally stopped. By the time they were done, the three students from the lesser class were completely disfigured.

Just as Lin Yun had said, aside from not being dead or crippled, the three of them barely looked human anymore. It was a testament to how ruthless Wangcai and Li Ji had been.

During that time, Lin Yun had already collected the Anti-Aging Grass. Only after the two had vented all their anger and returned to him did Lin Yun smile and ask, ”How was that? Feeling better?”

Hearing this, they both spoke to Lin Yun with grave sincerity. ”Young Master Lin, from now on, you’re our boss. We’ll follow your every command.”

Wangcai and Li Ji were no fools. With a Tier Three Demon Beast for protection, Lin Yun’s standing in Yanhuang Country was arguably no less than that of a Disciple from an ordinary Noble Family.

Moreover, his talent and Combat Power were immense. Barring an untimely death, a person like him was definitely someone worth befriending and winning over.

On top of that, Lin Yun had saved their lives. For all these reasons, their desire to follow him was sincere.

Looking at the two of them, Lin Yun’s expression was calm as he said evenly, ”We’re friends. Here, these two are for you.”

As he spoke, Lin Yun handed the stalks of Anti-Aging Grass to Wangcai and Li Ji.

Holding the Anti-Aging Grass, both felt a wave of gratitude wash over them. Realistically, even if Lin Yun had kept all the stalks for himself, they wouldn’t have said a word.

But now, for Lin Yun to actually give two stalks to them... to say they weren’t moved would be an absolute lie.

After giving two stalks to Wangcai and Li Ji, Lin Yun also gave one to Chen Xin. Faced with his gift of the Anti-Aging Grass, Chen Xin accepted it without hesitation.

Cradling the Anti-Aging Grass carefully, Chen Xin’s heart filled with a sweet warmth. The stalk from Lin Yun felt incomparably precious, and the meaning behind the gift far surpassed the value of the grass itself.

With that done, it was time for the real business. Lin Yun had, of course, spared the lives of these three students from the lesser class for a reason.

”So, what do you think? Should I kill you?” Lin Yun asked lightly, a smile playing on his lips as he looked at the trio.

”We... Young Master Lin... we were... wrong.” Hearing his question, all three of them slurred, terrified that Lin Yun would fly into a rage and execute them on the spot.

”’Wrong?’ I nearly died at your hands. Do you think a simple ’we were wrong’ resolves anything?”

’In truth, I already have a plan for these three,’ Lin Yun thought. ’It’s better to make them do something for me than to just kill them. There are no more than four hundred students at the Late Stage of the Qi Sea Realm in the entire Academy.’

’Even though they’re just from a lesser class, their strength is undeniable. After all, the Academy assigns classes based on individual talent and aptitude, not on one’s Cultivation.’

”Do you know what this is?” Done beating around the bush, Lin Yun directly produced his Identity Token.

The moment they saw Lin Yun’s Identity Token, their expressions went blank. They recognized it instantly—it was a Token for the Genius Class. When they saw the two words ”Lin Shan” inscribed on it, their jaws dropped in astonishment.

”You’re... Lin Shan... the Vice-Principal’s Disciple...” one of the students stammered in horror.

Hearing this, it wasn’t just the three students who were shocked; Chen Xin and the other two at her side were just as surprised. The Vice-Principal of the Academy? That was a figure so prominent that even the Royal Family had to show him deference.

Chen Xin and the others had never imagined that someone they had randomly met in the Imperial City Mountain Range would turn out to be the Vice-Principal’s Disciple.

”That’s right. I’m surprised you know of me.” Lin Yun wasn’t the least bit surprised they could recognize him. ’My repeated brawls with Tang Wushuang have already made us infamous figures at the Academy. Even if they’ve never seen me, they’ve surely heard my name.’

”Since you know who I am, you must have heard of Tang Wushuang, correct?” Lin Yun continued.

At his words, the three students nodded in unison. As a member of a branch of the Royal Family who had repeatedly clashed with Lin Yun, Tang Wushuang’s reputation was as great as Lin Yun’s, if not greater.

The three nodded. Now it was time for the main event, the very reason Lin Yun had kept them alive.

Lin Yun’s plan was to have the three of them return to the Academy, find out where Tang Wushuang went for his experiential training, and then follow him. While he was training, they were to constantly create trouble for him, preventing him from training in peace.

The reason Lin Yun didn’t order them to kill Tang Wushuang outright was entirely for strategic reasons. First, it was uncertain whether the three would even dare to make a move against Tang Wushuang, who was, after all, a member of the Royal Family.

Forcing them to do something they were too terrified to attempt could backfire, an outcome Lin Yun wished to avoid.

Besides, Lin Yun’s goal was simply to make Tang Wushuang miserable. As long as Tang Wushuang was miserable, Lin Yun would be delighted.

When they heard Lin Yun’s order to cause trouble for Tang Wushuang, the three immediately hesitated. It wasn’t because of Tang Wushuang’s strength, but because of his status.

Lin Yun, of course, noticed their expressions. With a faint smile, he said unhurriedly, ”You have only two choices now: either do as I say, or die.”

”This task isn’t actually that difficult. A Genius Class Disciple’s training trip lasts two years at most. During those two years, I don’t need you to kill Tang Wushuang, just make trouble for him. You don’t even have to let him see your faces, or even do the dirty work yourselves. Understand?”

Lin Yun prompted them. Sure enough, after hearing his explanation, the fear in their hearts lessened considerably.

’That’s right,’ they thought. ’He’s not asking us to kill Tang Wushuang, just to make trouble. We can just wear masks or get other people to do it.’

After hesitating for a long moment, the three finally agreed. If they wanted to live, they had no other choice.

”Very good. But as a precaution, I have three pills here. Swallow them. Once you’ve fulfilled your part of the agreement, I will naturally give you the antidote.” As he spoke, Lin Yun took out three black pills.

Zhong Lin had given these three pills to Lin Yun before he set out on his training. Anyone who swallowed one would need a specific counter-agent every month to suppress the poison. To completely remove the poison’s effects, one would need the unique Antitoxic Pill.
