Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Slaying Yue Xiuchuan Again

Hearing the death row inmate’s shout, Yue Xiuchuan, who had been hiding in the shadows, cursed under his breath, ”This idiot.”

Sure enough, in that instant, Yue Xiuchuan felt an extreme killing intent shoot toward him. Lin Yun was staring him down, his gaze like that of a peerless, ferocious beast.

”Yue Xiuchuan, so you really were here. Today, I’ll start by killing you and collecting a little interest,” Lin Yun said, his voice dripping with killing intent.

With that, Lin Yun turned to the death row inmate. The moment the inmate saw Lin Yun’s gaze fall upon him, he shuddered and immediately dropped the long blade in his hand to the ground.

”Stay right here. If I come back and you’re gone, you know the consequences,” Lin Yun warned.

Hearing this, the death row inmate nodded frantically, as if swearing a solemn oath. To him, Lin Yun was now a Death God—a Death God who held his very life and death in his hands.

Lin Yun was likely the only person in the Academy who could frighten a death row inmate to this extent. After all, these prisoners were heinous criminals who had stopped at nothing.

Seeing he had scared the inmate witless, Lin Yun turned directly toward Yue Xiuchuan. Faced with Lin Yun’s killing intent, Yue Xiuchuan’s first instinct was to run.

In that moment, he completely forgot that he was also a genius—at least in Yunlu County. Unable to muster the slightest will to resist, Yue Xiuchuan scrambled desperately out of the Battle Arena.

However, Yue Xiuchuan had only taken two steps before Lin Yun blocked his path. Possessing the Qingfeng Body Technique, few could match Lin Yun in a chase.

”Yue Xiuchuan, you’ve tried to have me killed time and time again. Today, I’ll be the one to send you on your way,” Lin Yun said, his voice cold and detached.

Staring Lin Yun in the face, and having just witnessed him slay a death row inmate at the Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm, the shock was too much. Yue Xiuchuan found himself completely unable to muster the will to fight back.

”Lin Shan, it wasn’t my idea! Tang Wushuang forced me to do it! I had no choice!” Yue Xiuchuan wailed.

Yue Xiuchuan was a thorough scoundrel, even more pathetic than Tang Wushuang. At least Tang Wushuang had his pride. Yue Xiuchuan, on the other hand, was nothing but a lackey. To save his own skin, he would kneel at Lin Yun’s command without a moment’s hesitation.

Grabbing Yue Xiuchuan, Lin Yun returned to the death row inmate in a few quick leaps. He tossed Yue Xiuchuan aside and asked the prisoner, ”Last chance. Who gave you the Blood Burning Pill? Who wants me dead?”

It was the same question, but this time, the inmate showed none of his earlier defiance. He quickly spilled the entire story.

”It was him,” the inmate said, pointing at Yue Xiuchuan.

”Last night, he found the two of us and gave us two Blood Burning Pills. He promised that if we could kill you, he’d find a way for us to regain our freedom,” the inmate said.

After hearing the inmate’s confession, Lin Yun’s gaze shifted to Yue Xiuchuan. Yue Xiuchuan, in turn, roared, ”What are you talking about? When did I ever meet you people? Lin Shan, he’s framing me! I didn’t do it!”

Yue Xiuchuan protested frantically. He could feel the overwhelming killing intent radiating from Lin Yun, and in that instant, he had no doubt that Lin Yun was going to kill him.

Lin Yun remained silent throughout Yue Xiuchuan’s denials. Finally, he spoke. ”It doesn’t matter if you did it or not. You are going to die today.”

With those words, all room for negotiation was gone. Backed into a corner, a crazed look appeared on Yue Xiuchuan’s face. ”Lin Shan, do you really think I, Yue Xiuchuan, am afraid of you? You think you can just do whatever you want with me?”

As he spoke, the Elemental Power around his body began to surge violently, and a look of grim resolve settled on his face.

’As long as I can stall him,’ Yue Xiuchuan thought, ’an expert from the Academy is bound to intervene. Then, even if he wants to kill me, it will be impossible.’

”Very good. This is how one of the four great geniuses of Yunlu County should act,” Lin Yun said with a faint smile. His Overlord Spear instantly shot forward, striking fiercely toward Yue Xiuchuan.

Faced with the sudden thrust, Yue Xiuchuan dodged on instinct, immediately trying to create distance between them. His only thought was to stall until an expert from the Academy arrived.

”You think anyone can save you today? Even if Tang Wushuang himself were here, you would still die,” Lin Yun said coldly.

After being set up and ambushed by them time and again, even a saint would lose their temper, let alone Lin Yun. Today, even if it meant risking expulsion from the Academy, Lin Yun was determined to kill Yue Xiuchuan.

Radiating killing intent, Lin Yun’s assault never faltered. By using Inch Step, he ensured Yue Xiuchuan couldn’t pull away. Instead, it was Yue Xiuchuan who was left terrified by the ferocity of Lin Yun’s attacks.

”Lin Shan, you dare to kill me? If you do, you’ll be expelled from the Academy! And my Yang City Yue Family will never let you go!” Yue Xiuchuan threatened.

Lin Yun paid Yue Xiuchuan’s threats no mind. The blows from his spear grew faster and fiercer with each passing moment.

Finally, as Yue Xiuchuan barely managed to dodge another spear thrust, Lin Yun saw his opening. He unleashed a punch, and his Black Steel Tyrant Fist slammed squarely into Yue Xiuchuan’s chest.

Taking the full brunt of the blow, Yue Xiuchuan spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and was sent flying dozens of meters before crashing heavily to the ground.

Heavily injured, Yue Xiuchuan no longer had any strength to fight. As he watched Lin Yun approach step by step, his face was a mask of pure terror.

In truth, given Yue Xiuchuan’s actual strength, he shouldn’t have been defeated so easily. The blame lay in the fact that he had been crippled by fear before the battle had even begun.

With his heart full of dread, he could only bring out seventy or eighty percent of his true strength. Meanwhile, the ruthless Lin Yun made every strike a killing blow. As one’s power waned and the other’s waxed, Yue Xiuchuan’s Combat Power was naturally diminished.

”Lin Shan, if you dare kill me, you won’t live to see another day! You’ll have nowhere to hide in the entire Yanhuang Country! The Yue Family will hunt you to the ends of the earth!” Yue Xiuchuan roared, his voice cracking with desperation.

It was too late for begging now. Yue Xiuchuan’s only hope was to intimidate Lin Yun with his family’s name.

”I told you,” Lin Yun said calmly, ”even if Tang Wushuang himself were here, you would still die.” With that, he thrust his Overlord Spear toward Yue Xiuchuan.

”Stop!” Just as the tip of Lin Yun’s spear was about to pierce Yue Xiuchuan’s chest, a thunderous roar echoed from the sky, and the figure of an old man slowly materialized.

Hearing the voice, a flicker of joy crossed Yue Xiuchuan’s face. ’It’s Tang Wushuang’s master! I’m saved!’ But before a smile could fully form on his lips, an excruciating pain erupted from his chest.

He looked down to see that Lin Yun’s Overlord Spear had already run him through.

Even in death, Yue Xiuchuan couldn’t believe it. Lin Yun had actually dared to kill him right in front of a Primordial Ocean Realm expert.

”You... you...” He never managed to get the last words out. Yue Xiuchuan’s pupils dilated, and the life faded from his eyes.
