Chapter 112: Chapter 112: A Thank-You Gift for You

In Yanhuang Academy, there was a saying: ”Four levels, each a world apart.”

This saying directly reflected the disparity in treatment among the four student levels. It wasn’t just about their benefits; even their living and cultivation environments were worlds apart.

The entire Yanhuang Academy was enclosed by four concentric walls. The innermost circle naturally housed the academy’s upper management and the disciples of the Genius Class. The second circle was for the Elite Class students, the third for the Small Class students, and as for the Large Class, they could only reside in the outermost ring.

To put it in perspective, Genius Class students could go anywhere in the academy. Elite Class students could enter the Small and Large Class areas. As for the Large Class, they were restricted to their own zone.

”Alright, everyone, use the numbered tokens in your hands to find your assigned rooms. These will be your residences at the academy from now on,” a teacher at the Qi Sea Realm shouted as they arrived before rows of rooms.

It was a massive complex of buildings. Although each room was small and plain, the sight of over a thousand of them connected together was still quite spectacular.

He glanced at the token in his hand. Written on it was the number ninety-three.

Lin Yun quickly found his room, but three Large Class disciples were already standing at the entrance. They were senior students who had been demoted from the Small Class.

Every time new students entered the academy, there was a major shake-up. Small Class students would challenge for a spot in the Elite Class, and Large Class students would challenge for the Small Class. Since each level had a fixed number of students, if a student from a lower level successfully challenged you, you would be demoted.

Simply put, if a Large Class student successfully challenged someone from the Small Class, the challenger would be promoted while the original Small Class student would be demoted to the Large Class. The same principle applied to the Elite Class.

”You must be Lin Shan?” one of the students, who was at the Ninth Layer of the Opening Realm, asked as he watched Lin Yun approach.

Looking at the three of them, Lin Yun gave a helpless internal smile. ’Tang Wushuang must know my strength. Does he really think sending three Opening Realm cultivators is enough to take care of me? Isn’t that a bit of a joke?’

’Or is he trying to use the academy’s rules against me? Fighting is strictly forbidden everywhere on campus except for a few designated areas.’

He smiled faintly, but the coldness in his eyes was unmistakable. Looking at the three, Lin Yun said coolly, ”Gentlemen. You’re blocking my door. Is there something I can help you with?”

”Hmph. Kid, you’ve pissed off someone you can’t afford to. If you know what’s good for you, get the hell out of the academy on your own. Otherwise, the three of us will beat you up every single day until you’re gone for good,” one of them snorted.

Hearing this, Lin Yun couldn’t help a wry smile. ’Looks like Tang Wushuang didn’t tell these three idiots the details about me.’

’These three don’t even have the self-awareness to realize they’re just cannon fodder.’ In that instant, a plan formed in Lin Yun’s mind. ’I don’t even have to guess; there must be an academy teacher hiding nearby. The moment I make a move, they’ll show up.’

”Seniors, I’m not sure who I might have offended, but I’m truly grateful that the three of you came to warn me. Please, come into my room for a chat. I have a small token of my appreciation I’d like to give you,” Lin Yun said, his expression unreadable.

Hearing this, the trio assumed Lin Yun was terrified and immediately grew even more arrogant. ”Hmph. So you do know what’s good for you.”

Lin Yun used his token to open the door and stepped inside first. The three of them naturally followed, quite pleased at the prospect of receiving a gift from him.

Watching all four enter Lin Yun’s room, the Qi Sea Realm teacher hidden in the shadows frowned. ’Those three idiots. Why did they go into the room?’

This teacher had been arranged by Tang Wushuang. According to Tang Wushuang’s plan, they were to first drive Lin Yun out of the academy. Once he was outside, Tang Wushuang could simply send two Qi Sea Realm Martial Artists from the Prince Manor to kill him. There was no need for a life-and-death battle.

Once inside the room, the three of them immediately demanded, ”Alright, out with the gift. Don’t even think about trying to fool us.”

”Seniors, I trust my gift will not disappoint you,” Lin Yun said, a sly grin spreading across his face.

The words had barely left his mouth when, before the trio could react, Lin Yun’s figure blurred. He appeared before them in an instant and unleashed a furious barrage of attacks.

It was a completely one-sided thrashing. These three, who couldn’t even hold their place in the Small Class, had Combat Power that wasn’t even in the same league as Lin Yun’s.

They didn’t have the slightest chance to fight back as Lin Yun’s fists rained down on their bodies.

Lin Yun controlled his strength perfectly. The three only suffered superficial pain without any lasting injury, but even that was enough to make them scream incessantly.

”We were wrong! We were wrong! Junior Brother Lin Shan, stop hitting us! We don’t want the gift anymore! We don’t want it!” the three begged for mercy. Lin Yun could hear the verge of tears in their voices.

”Oh, don’t be like that, Seniors. If you don’t accept my gift, how could I not be embarrassed?” Lin Yun didn’t stop. His fists flew faster and faster until, finally, he had literally beaten them to tears.

Looking at the three of them, a complete mess of snot and tears, Lin Yun was utterly speechless. ’These guys are really something else... To think that grown men would just burst into tears like that.’

”Stop crying!” Lin Yun roared, annoyed by the pathetic sight.

At his furious command, the three of them instantly choked back their sobs, though fresh tears still welled in their eyes.

”Alright, talk. Who sent you?” Lin Yun asked, casually sitting down in a chair and looking at them.

”It was... it was... Young Master Yue,” the three of them stammered.

”Yue Xiuchuan?” Lin Yun frowned. As his gaze fell upon them, the three looked like they were about to start crying again and scrambled to explain.

”Junior Brother Lin Shan... No, no, Brother Lin Shan, it’s true! We’re not lying! Young Master Yue found us and gave each of us ten Low Grade Primordial Stones. He just told us to come to your door and mock you. He didn’t say anything else!” Terror was written all over their faces, terrified that Lin Yun would start beating them again.

’Just as I thought,’ Lin Yun sneered internally. ’Yue Xiuchuan, it seems you really are Tang Wushuang’s dog. Fine. Since you’ve served yourself up on a platter, I’ll just have to deal with you first and collect some interest.’

Now Lin Yun understood the whole situation, and it was just as he had suspected. ’It’s a good thing I didn’t attack them outside. Otherwise, I would have fallen right into Yue Xiuchuan’s trap.’

’Those two cowards don’t want a direct confrontation. They’ll only resort to these underhanded schemes. It seems I’ll have to be more careful from now on. If I fall into their trap, getting expelled from the academy would be the least of my worries. If my real identity is exposed, my life will be on the line.’

While Lin Yun was lost in thought, in a room within the Elite Class area of the academy, Tang Wushuang pushed open the door and walked in.

”How did it go?”

Hearing Tang Wushuang’s question, Yue Xiuchuan replied with a cold sneer, ”Rest assured, Young Master Tang. Even if he gets away with it today, I will make sure he’s driven out of Yanhuang Academy within a month.”

”Excellent,” Tang Wushuang said with a smile.
