Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Arriving at the Academy

The treasure Li Tian had mentioned for suppressing the Ghost Lizards was none other than Little Ape. According to him, although he couldn’t see through Little Ape, his intuition told him that the ape could perfectly overpower the Ghost Lizards.

Hearing this, Lin Yun skeptically woke Little Ape and explained the situation. After listening, Little Ape confidently patted its chest, as if to say, ’Leave it to me.’

Transforming into a streak of black light, Little Ape charged directly into the pack of Ghost Lizards. Watching the direction in which the ape had disappeared, Qin Feng asked worriedly, ”Nothing will happen to Little Ape, will it?”

However, just as Qin Feng finished speaking, they heard wails erupt from the pack of Ghost Lizards surrounding them. The sound was strange; why would the Ghost Lizards be letting out such miserable cries?

”Let’s cultivate. Little Ape should be fine. We’ll leave at dawn,” Lin Yun said.

The night passed in silence. Aside from Lin Yun and his two companions, everyone else remained on high alert. Strangely, though, ever since Little Ape had charged into the pack of Ghost Lizards, there had not been a single attack.

Early the next morning, Lin Yun slowly opened his eyes. After a night of cultivation, he felt no fatigue at all; his stamina had been restored to its peak.

Little Ape had already returned to his arms and was sleeping soundly. However, when Lin Yun looked at their surroundings, he was both shocked and exasperated.

The dismembered corpses of over a thousand Ghost Lizards lay before his eyes. So, Little Ape had slaughtered all of them in a single night...

”Holy crap, that’s insane! Did Little Ape really do all this alone?” Qin Feng shouted dramatically upon seeing the scene.

What they didn’t know was that in addition to slaughtering the Ghost Lizards, Little Ape had also drained them of their blood. The blood of over a thousand Ghost Lizards would be immensely helpful for its advancement.

With the Ghost Lizards no longer blocking their path, Lin Yun’s group of three continued toward the Academy.

They traveled across the plains for a full half-month. During this time, Ghost Lizards would occasionally attack the trio, but with Little Ape around, they had nothing to worry about. Having drunk the blood of so many Ghost Lizards, Little Ape had finally reached the verge of advancing.

”It has fallen into a deep slumber. When it awakens, it should reach the realm of a Tier Two Demon Beast,” Li Tian explained to Lin Yun.

After leaving the plains, a main road appeared before them. Based on what they had gathered, this marked the end of the Trial Road.

”How come there’s no one on this road?” After walking for a week without seeing a single soul, Qin Feng muttered.

”Very few people travel this road. It has no cities or villages along the way; it only leads to Yanhuang Academy. On top of that, the road is infested with robbers, so naturally, no one uses it,” Li Tian explained.

Meeting neither travelers nor robbers, Lin Yun’s group of three naturally focused on hurrying along.

For several days straight, the trio did nothing but travel. Little Ape remained in its deep slumber, showing no signs of waking.

After several days of travel, Lin Yun and his companions finally encountered a band of robbers. The leader was a Martial Artist at the Second Layer of Qi Sea Realm, and upon seeing the trio, his gang appeared quite confident.

But as soon as they clashed, Lin Yun’s strength shocked the robber chieftain to his core. Someone at the Fifth Layer of Opening Realm was actually able to suppress him.

’Damn it. Looks like I’ve run into a tough one,’ the robber chieftain thought with a cold snort, and decided to stop holding back.

Wielding a large saber, the robber chieftain slashed down at Lin Yun. Faced with the heavy, powerful strike, Lin Yun didn’t even think of dodging. The chieftain’s saber was merely a Mortal Soldier.

Executing the Black Steel Tyrant Fist, Lin Yun slammed his fist into the saber. The immense force instantly shattered the blade.

His own body had shattered his saber, and he was only at the Fifth Layer of Opening Realm. The robber chieftain was completely dumbfounded. ’Is he really a Trial Taker? He’s way stronger than the students at Yanhuang Academy!’

”Kid, I’ll let you pass...” Watching Lin Yun, the robber chieftain had already lost all his Battle Intent. ’This guy is a monster.’

A small smile played on Lin Yun’s lips as he replied calmly, ”Thanks for the offer, but I think I’d rather kill you all before we go.”

Lin Yun showed the robbers no mercy. Working together with Li Tian and Qin Feng, they finished off the entire gang in a flash.

In the days that followed, a new rule spread among the robbers on that road: if you saw Lin Yun’s group of three, you were to scatter and flee immediately. It was as if the trio were the real robbers.

”This is so boring. These guys just run the moment they see us,” Qin Feng complained.

While Lin Yun’s group brazenly traveled the road with their overwhelming strength, the other Trial Takers were in a much more miserable state. Of the original thousand-plus people, only about three hundred remained, and many of them were injured. It seemed that in the end, perhaps only a little over one hundred would make it to the Academy.

Almost three months had passed since they left Yunlu County City, and now, Lin Yun and his companions were only seven days away from Yanhuang Academy.

Over the course of these three months, Lin Yun had successfully broken through to the Sixth Layer of Opening Realm three days prior. His strength had increased considerably with this advancement.

”We’re finally here.” After a grueling three-month journey on the Trial Road, the trio had at last arrived at Yanhuang Academy.

Ancient, towering walls perfectly showcased the profound and unadorned history of Yanhuang Academy. Gazing up at the four massive, glittering golden characters that formed its name, Lin Yun could viscerally feel the Academy’s power.

”Heh, not bad, you three. You’re the first to complete the Trial Road.” Just as the trio arrived at the Academy, a figure descended from the sky.

Lin Yun’s eyes narrowed. The figure was the beautiful woman who had once hunted him. He never thought the first person he would encounter at Yanhuang Academy would be her.

The beautiful woman’s gaze swept over the trio. Seeing that she didn’t seem to recognize him, Lin Yun relaxed. As long as his identity wasn’t exposed, he had nothing to fear.

”You won’t be able to formally enter the Academy until all the Trial Takers have finished the Trial Road. In the meantime, you must rest in the rooms assigned to you. Don’t wander off, or you risk being disqualified, you hear?”

After giving the trio this reminder, the beautiful woman left. An older student then led them to a courtyard in a remote corner of the Academy.

Looking at the somewhat dilapidated courtyard, the three of them each took a room and settled in.

As time went on, Trial Takers began to arrive at the Academy in a steady stream each day, and all who arrived early were placed in this same courtyard.

Seeing the smiles on their faces, Lin Yun knew how happy they were just to have made it into the Academy.

”Hmph, celebrating already? If they don’t make it into the Elite Class, they’ll just get kicked out by the Academy anyway,” some of the older students sneered, looking down on the newcomers’ smiling faces.
