Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”...”

Che Huan looked up at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan raised his hand and turned off the light. ”We need to get up early tomorrow, and I have to take you out.”

Going out tomorrow?

Why didn’t she know about it?

Not used to the sudden darkness, Che Huan couldn’t see Huo Jinnan but moved closer to him by feeling. ”Just the two of us?”

”It wasn’t originally, but since you want it to be just the two of us, then that’s what it will be.”

The next day, as soon as they arrived at the place, Che Huan’s heartbeat was a bit irregular. She looked at Huo Jinnan beside her. ”What are we doing here... what are we doing?”

Huo Jinnan looked down at Che Huan. ”You ask too many questions.”

He held her hand, fingers intertwined.

Che Huan took a deep breath, looked down at his large palm, the white sleeves, his wheat-colored skin—

It filled her vision.

Looking up, she gazed at him and the surrounding landscape, picturesque and beautiful. Then she looked at the white church nestled in the painting-like setting, sacred and beautiful, as if bathed in holy light, stunningly gorgeous.

The man beside her had the morning light fall on his shoulder, as if gilded with a layer of gold, like he had stepped out of a painting—

Huo Jinnan watched Che Huan for a while. ”Do you like it?”

”Mmm.”

Che Huan moved closer and kissed the spot over his heart.

Huo Jinnan looked down.

Che Huan saw a bright red lip print on his white shirt, her ears reddening a bit, and her voice lowered quite a lot. ”I forgot to put on lipstick this morning.”

Huo Jinnan didn’t say a word, looking down at the red lip print on the white shirt, right over the heart, a kind of indescribable beauty.

He gripped Che Huan’s hand tightly and stepped into the church, where four nuns approached them.

Huo Jinnan spoke softly, ”Take her to change clothes.”

”Yes, Mr. Huo.”

Two of the nuns glanced at Huo Jinnan and led Che Huan to change clothes.

The remaining two nuns held a custom-made suit for a man. ”Mr. Huo...”

Huo Jinnan looked down at the lip print on his shirt. ”I’ll stay in this, no need to change.”

He sat on a bench to the side, quietly watching the place from where Che Huan had left.

About an hour later, the nun brought Che Huan toward Huo Jinnan.

Hearing the sound of high heels, Huo Jinnan looked up in Che Huan’s direction. The white vintage wedding dress, following the lines of the sumptuous attire of European medieval court ladies, fitted Che Huan as if it was made for her. Beyond her rich noble aura, there was something ineffably clean and gentle.

Huo Jinnan stood up, approached, his gaze fixed on Che Huan. He bent down, took the beautiful train of the wedding dress from the nun’s hand and draped it over his arm, his voice rich and mellow. ”Hold onto my arm.”

Che Huan bit her lip, glanced at Huo Jinnan, and suddenly felt as nervous as a bride about to be married.

She placed her hand on his arm, holding on, her heartbeat uncontrollably quickening.

Huo Jinnan’s gaze moved away from her. As they walked, he raised his hand to unbutton the top two buttons of his shirt.

Upon reaching the entrance to the main hall, a nun standing at the entrance made the sign of the cross over her chest and placed a white floral wreath on Che Huan’s head, and pinned delicate white flowers on her chest and wrists.

Next to them, another nun pinned one on Huo Jinnan’s lapel and with a solemn and reverent voice said, ”Mr. Huo, Miss Qin, go in.”
