Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 258: Chapter 257:”what have you done?”

Within a dark and enclosed throne room, a figure sat in silence.

Well, calling it a figure would be putting it nicely, since it was nothing but a fog of darkness orbiting above a gilded throne.

Buzzzzz.....

A buzzing sound echoed like thunder within the silence, as the fog stirred.

”Hmmm?” A deep, masculine voice rumbled through the room as deep blue eyes opened from within the dark fog.

Humm!!

The buzzing stopped as a projection appeared, illuminating the room if only a little bit.

”Asmodeus, I see you’re still brooding as usual.” Damien’s indifferent voice sounded out of the projection.

”Damien...” the fog rumbled, ”do not address me as if we were friends, state your business and leave.” The voice, asmodeus, uttered coldly.

Damien’s expression soured at the utter disregard he had received, but he kept his calm, deciding to deal with the task he’d been given first.

”The boy.” The moment asmodeus heard those words, the fog shrank, as the figure of a black haired man appeared, seated grandly on the throne, his deep blue eyes now solemn as they stared at the figure of Damien being projected.

”He has made his way towards Enviria.” Damien continued.

”Why?” Asmodeus asked.

”What else? It is to take the head of that ducal heir that whore Lilith had placed a bounty on.” Damien laughed, seemingly pleased.

”Hmmmm.... What does the sir intend to do?” Asmodeus asked, ignoring the obvious pleasure Damien took from his plight.

”Do not kill the boy, capture him, but be careful, we do not know if war has sent someone to watch over the child, so be discreet, get the mission done and report to back to me.”

”Hmmm... being discreet will be a little difficult.” Asmodeus mused, his hands resting casually on his chin as he crossed his legs.

”Then don’t. Just get the boy, and the senior will handle whatever fall out comes next.”

”Heh! First you take out the father, now, you target the son, it seems your appetite knows no end, Damien.” Asmodeus chuckled.

”Says the demon that didn’t dare say a word to the bastard when he was alive, yet was quick to join hands when the opportunity to take him down came, do not play these games with me, asmodeus.”

”What did you just say??” The demon’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

”Get the job done. I shall await your report.”

Click!

With those words, Damien cut off the projection, returning the room to pitch black darkness once more.

Silence reigned over the darkness for a few more minutes before,

”Ahbitar!” The being, asmodeus, called out.

”My lord.” A voice replied from within the shadows.

”You heard what that snake said, heh! Go get me the boy, I want to see just what it was that that arrogant fool gave birth to, to warrant such a fuss.” He ordered.

”At once your majesty.” The voice answered before its presence faded.

Tap!

Tap!

Tap!

”You wanted it all regulus, you took it all... even... her...” a moment of silence passed.

”Heh! Now you’re dead and your son will soon accompany you, I hope your suffering lasts just as much as mine did all those years ago.” Muttering those final words, the demon closed his eyes, figure vanishing into the dark as silence reigned once more.

......

...

My eyes slowly opened as I heard Khalifa’s voice.

”Ugh.... What the hell was that ride?” I groaned, body creaking as I stood, finally freeing myself from the uncomfortable torture machine that passed for a bed.

”Why did we have to use such a shabby transport method instead of using a teleportation station, or even a galleon!” I complained loudly.

”Because..” Khalifa began softly, jumping off the shabby boat like contraption, ”we’re trying to be unnoticed.” The way she said that, like an elder telling a child the obvious, was grating on many levels.

”Yea, sure, whatever, at least you got to wear even less clothing than usual, so I guess it’s a win for me, haha..”

She looked at the skimpy outfit whe was wearing.

A swimsuit a few sizes too small that they couldn’t even cover anything properly, as she grit her teeth.

”BASTARD!!!”

...

”So, where are we heading?” I asked as we sat down at an inn, ordering a meal.

”We’re currently outside the borders of the Demon continent, so we’ll be heading there next, specifically, the kingdom of Enviria.”

”Don’t tell me we’ll be using another shabby boat.” My face paled.

There was no way I was letting myself get put in that torturous situation a second time.

”Don’t worry you sacred cat, we’ll be using a teleportation station this time, since we’ll be spawning in a relatively small city, we shouldn’t be noticed by anyone if we keep our heads low and plan our moves smartly.”

.....

..

”What?” Khalifa snapped after a few seconds of silence passed and all I did was stare at her.

”Nothing. It’s just, I didn’t expect this.”

”Didn’t expect what?”

”You know, this, you, being all thinking and considerate and stuff, it feels weird and disconcerting.”

”BASTARD!!!! What do you mean it feels weird.”

”Well, I didn’t take you for the strategizing type, I honestly thought we’d be going all guns and glory in there, taking out whatever demonic scum we come across, not planning our steps gradually.”

”Are you trying to call me an airhead and crazy person?”

”Hey, they’re your words, not mine.. why are you getting up? Why are you pulling out your sword? Hey, woah!! Wait!! Khalifa, you crazy bimbo!!!!”

”DANTEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!”

....

”Fuck! You really cut me with that bitch ass sword!” I complained as I rubbed my nonexistent wound.

”Quite bitching, it’s not like you sustained any damage.”

”But what if I did?”

”Then that would’ve been my greatest gain, hell , I could return right now feeling accomplished.”

”You know, I’m starting to rethink this whole volunteering thing , I forgot you’re a crazy psycho.”

”Call me crazy one more time...”

”Heh! Crazy...”

”Oh! We’re here!” Her exclamation stopped my words cold, as I followed her gaze, and my heart thumped.

Darkness.

Red.

That was all their was ahead.

The clouds shifted drastically from a ocean reflecting blue, to a demonic dark crimson that seemed to go on forever.

The world seemed to have split into two, as on one side, the skies remained normal, then on the other side, hell on earth.

”The demon continent...” Khalifa’s voice broke me out of my trance as my heart gave another violent Thump at her words.

”Hooo.... Breathe... breathe...” I muttered under my breath, trying not to let my emotions out of control.

That was it.

The place that filthy race gathered.

Where they pretend, act like they’re civilized creatures and not war mongers that only know destruction and death.

Where they spread their plague of existence to the rest of terra.

Just thinking of the abundance of filthy demons there, demons that lived in utter bliss, ignorant of the hurt and carnage their filthy race had caused to me, my blood raced.

”Breathe.... breathe...”

”Are you okay?” Khalifa’s worried voice snapped me out of my thoughts as I raised my head, my eyes landing on her face, a worred expression painted all over it.

”Haaa... I’m fine, just.. trying to compose myself is all.” I smiled as I reassured her.

She studied my face intently, ”what? Something on my face?” I asked.

”Are you sure you’re fine?”

”I promise, I’m okay, no need to worry.”

She watched me quietly then, ”alright, if you say so.” She turned around, moving toward the teleportation station as she called out, ”let’s get going.”

......

.....

The teleportation wasn’t fast, or slow, but at this point, I’d already gotten used to it, either that, or my space law was acting up, but either way, when it ended, our surroundings changed.

The darkness I had seen from afar, the crimson skies and tainted atmosphere, it was no longer distant, no, it was now all around us.

”There, look.” Khalifa pointed ahead, toward a small city with raised walls made of a dark stone, lines of demons stretching from the gates as they awaited entry.

”That is where we’ll be heading, it’s a small city under the rule of Destria, a superior demon city tied to.....” her words had stopped registering in my head the moment I laid eyes on the long line of demons.

The way their corrupted energy twisted the air around them.

Worst of all, was the atmosphere.

I couldn’t feel it.

No, better yet, I couldn’t feel her pulse.

It was like the atmosphere here was... dead. Corrupted.

”Again...” the rage I’d been forcing down bubbled right back up.

The visual image of so many demons standing casually in line, talking, laughing, like it was any other regular day, like they weren’t a plague, was already enough of a triggering factor, yet, now, I couldn’t feel the pulse of the atmosphere.

That was the last straw.

BOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

My aura flared as my killing intent burst through.

”Dante!????”

I could hear Khalifa screaming, but I couldn’t register anything at this moment.

”WRATH OF HELIOS.”

A massive dark golden sun materialized above the entire city, this one many times larger and hotter than the one I used against that avatar, the temperatures soared to unprecedented levels, as the stale air.. BURNED.

”Ahhhhh!!!!!!”

”What’s happening????”

”It burns!! It burns!!! Someone! Make it stop!!!”

The pain filled cries of the filthy creatures that had been ignited by the Solar flames sent a devilish thrill through my body as a wide, murderous smile appeared on my face,

Wooosh...

My wings unfurled as I slowly took to the skies, my eyes surveying the carnage all around me, my perception spreading toward the city, everything going on within being captured clearly and it was,

”Beautiful.”

I couldn’t help the satisfaction that surged through me.

”Dante!!!! What are you doing???” I could hear Khalifa screaming from down below.

”I’m starting what should’ve been done ages ago.” I answered, raising my arm, ”I’m cleansing the filth from this world.” My eyes flashed.

”NO! DON’T.....”

”Begone.”

The world stilled for a fraction of a moment, before..

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

The massive sun fell, obliterating the entire city below and all the demons within and outside of it, the entire earth rumbling as the shockwaves spread for miles around...

.....

...

”You... you.. what.. have you done?”
