Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 150: Chapter 149:What do we have here?

Back at the hillside golden mansion, Raven sat on one of the sofas within the living room as she watched the projection of the events happening at the enrollment ceremony..

She had seen Dante’s entrance, that had made her smile from ear to ear.

She’d seen his spiraling when he caught sight of the demons, the rage and pain that took hold of him and she’d felt every bit of it..

She’d watched as Cara finally tried to redeem herself, albeit falling a little short at the end, yet that had made the black haired beauty less volatile to the young lady..

But nothing made her as ecstatic, happy and turned on than when Dante stepped up..

The sheer dominance and careless disregard he had for his opponent, letting him make all the first moves just to knock his lights out with one single punch..

To say say her underwear was currently going through a flooding crisis wouldn’t be an overstatement.

Then Dante had to up the anti by wiping the floor with her snake brother, Damien’s son, Caelum..

The satisfaction she was currently feeling, watching her daughter and lover put all of Aeternum on notice was too much for words alone to capture...

”That’s regulus’ child indeed... their arrogance truly have no bounds” a calm and aged voice suddenly broke the silence she’d been accustomed too..

Her dam dried up instantly at the sound of that irritating voice..

Contrary to what most reactions would be, Raven didn’t jump in fright or surprise, she didn’t so much as furrow her brow..

Her eyes stayed put on the display as Dante finally calmed Melissa down..

”Old fool, what do you think you’re doing soiling my brother’s place with your filthy presence” her cold reply sounded as she finally took her gaze from the projection, her eyes falling on the newly arrived intruder..

There, standing by the floor to ceiling window was a man of modest height, his hair a white due to age, his face bore the marks of time yet his skin retained their rosy hue..

He was adorned in a flowing white robe, his entire demeanor like that of a wizened elder..

”Now, is that anyway to greet your father? Little Ravena” he man smiled harmlessly..

”I have no father, he died when he forced my hand to a spineless, cowardly and pathetic fool” Raven’s voice was cold as she stood up, her presence poised and regal..

”Sigh... is that why you’ve made little Melissa grow up without a father? As spite?” The man shook his head.

”My daughter has no need for a spineless fool that only knows how to victimize the helpless, now state your business” an expression of pain flashed briefly past her eyes but just as quickly as it had appeared, it disappeared..

”You of all people should know the rules the world operates by little Ravena, if it’ll be beneficial to the bloodline, to the family, then no steps are too much to take”

”And it is this foolish idea that has made you lose the most talented genius you fools would’ve ever known”

....

There was a tense silence between the two figures before the old man broke it up..

”Sigh... forget it, you will never understand.. as for why I’m here, it is of course to take you home” the old man replied casually..

”Ha..haha...hahahahahaha....” Raven laughed, doubling over, she laughed so much tears fell..

”Old fool.. you must really be going senile” her expression turned cold instantly..

”What nonsense do you think you’re saying? Me? Go back to that filthy den of vipers? Over my rotting corpse” her voice was hard and cold, leaving no room for reply...

”This matter is not up for debate Ravena, you shall return, willingly or not”

”And what happened to the agreement we had?”

”An agreement that might prove detrimental to my family? I’m no fool Ravena, for that man to have come out now, it is clear you lot must be planning something, foolish I dare say, but I’m not a man that likes to leave things to chance” the old man replied calmly, his eyes indifferent..

”Heh.. and why would you want to drag me back after all this time? Why now?” Raven asked..

”Suspected to have inherited the powers of that ancient one, wields dominion over the atmosphere like never seen before and now because of your meddling, probably bears a massive blood debt with my family, take a guess why I’d want to drag you back” the moment raven heard those words, her entire demeanor changed, the atmosphere turned chilly as a suffocating killing intent flooded the entire space..

”You. Will. Not. Lay. A. Hand. On. Dante!” She enunciated each and every word, the very space around her fissuring..

”What do you think will happen when he learns of your ”return”?” The man asked, not minding her current mood.

”I’ll tell you.. he’ll get angry and angry men make bad decisions. He’ll come, in full fury, to take you back, a boy with his father’s blood in his veins indeed, loyal to a fault, but when he does come, it will be out of anyone’s hands should he never return.. this bud you are trying to raise, I shall nip before it threatens the integrity of everything my ancestors have built” the old man’s voice had gone cold as well, a heavy aura descending on the entire area as the mansion groaned, barely holding under the weight of the two monstrous pressures..

”Heh.. old fool, you sound scared..” Raven snickered..

”Scared? Of whom? You? Or those three that have the delusion that they stand at a height worthy of the titles PARAGONS that the world gave them in ignorance? Or you couldn’t possibly mean of the little brat that has yet to experience the cruelty of the world?”

The old man sneered..

”The one that can make this old man afraid has yet to be born little girl, now will you come willingly or must I act?” The old man replied offhandedly..

”Old fool, what more would I expect from the father of a snake? Like father like son”..

”But, you’ve made a very big mistake by showing your face here today..”

Raven’s aura spiked..

”Do not think you shall leave here with your life after threatening Dante..” she got ready to attack..

”Sigh...children who don’t yet understand the immensity of the world, trying to shake that which has been deemed unshakable.. no matter, enough of this folly, you shall return with me now” the old man sighed ruefully, his hands stretching out as he got ready to make his move..

Raven had already readied herself, yet before any of them could make a move..

”HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... and here I thought the little ones were going to be the only source of excitement I’d have today, but what do we have here? Hmmm?” A wizened, aged and jovial laughter resounded..

The old man that had been indifferent until now, Mr ”the person who can make me afraid hasn’t been born yet”, had his expression change drastically as dread crept up his spine..

Raven merely raised her head at the sound of the voice..

”I greet the dean of Aeternum” the old man retracted his hands as he offered a respectful salute upwards, his expression solemn..

”Hmmm” the voice acknowledged softly..

”Now, you two, what do we have here...”

And just like that, a clash that could’ve shaken the central continent itself was diffused before it could cause effects many weren’t yet ready for..

A/N: I’m starting to like this dean more and more, but I’d have loved to see raven in action, sigh...
