Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 141: Chapter 140:Mel..

”Are my eyes suddenly developing issues? Should that be possible for people like us?” Malcom asked in bewilderment as he took off his glasses, wiped them clean, put them back on, then looked back at the destroyed stage, the scene remained the same, Dante standing tall, after using the very skills of a fallen opponent to crush another one thoroughly..

”It’s not an issue with my glasses either, so I’m beginning to believe it might really be my eyes that are Turning faulty”..

”Little valen, care to tell us what is happening”?.

”I’m sorry sir voren, but the old man explicitly told me not to give out any information about the young man, as it might cause unnecessary issues that are best avoided” valen answered, voice a tad bit guilty for denying it...

”Ahh, so the dean is aware of him, no wonder” the priestly old man sighed..

”Wait a minute..” a female professor suddenly stood up in shocked realization.

”What is it Matilda?”Voren asked softly..

”A few days ago, some of the ancient families and the church had gathered some of their elders and sent them out to retrieve someone they believed had inherited the Devourer’s powers” she began carefully, her eyes never once leaving the young man on stage..

”Yes, I heard of that, the pope told me about it—-” Voren’s voice cut off as he suddenly focused back on stage, his eyes sharpening, his entire old man demeanor vanishing..

”You don’t mean to tell me...”

”The reason they failed to capture him, as the elder of my family explained, was because” reaching up to this point, her eyes turned to Valen who had already returned his attention to the arena below.

”Was because the Paragon of War had declared death to all who laid a finger on his personal student”..

The revelation hit even harder than when valen had told them..

Because, if what she was saying were true, then that young man wasn’t merely a ”monstrous” genius anymore..

”But wait... he didn’t use anything relatively similar to that nefarious thing though?” The female instructor that had quickly become Dante’s fan, was quick to defend him and her arguments were solid..

Yes he did send Apollo flying to kingdom come, but the young man was still alive, barely, but still alive, yet he had used the youth’s skills before their very eyes, he couldn’t have possibly just comprehended it after seeing it once, right?

Right??

The instructors all shared aghast looks as they seemed to have all come to the same resounding conclusion..

They didn’t bother asking valen for anymore validation on the claims that had been made about Dante.

They were all well aware of how that altercation ended, besides, it’s not like they were about to start quivering at the mere thought of some ancient dead guy.

They weren’t that spineless..

Instead, their focus remained on the freak student present before them, the teaching instincts of most blaring loudly as they all wondered just how it would feel teaching such a monster..

”Heh... I guess we all lost on who the darkest horse was”

”This little freak isn’t a dark horse, at this point, he’s The four horsemen all put together”...

....

”He did it....” A whisper from one of the outer court students that couldn’t believe his eyes..

”He actually freaking did it...”

”Dethroned two elite class students with one punch..”

”Freak..”

Their reactions weren’t the loud, cheering one that Apollo had received..

No. It was a more silent, weighty response.

The audience, safe for the watching eastern domain crowd that were currently going wild, were still trying to wrap their heads around what it was they’d just witnessed.

It wasn’t the mere act of defeating two elite students that shook them, Aeternum was an ancient institution, there have been no small amount of monsters that have come through those gates, hell there were even now, no small amount of monsters lurking within the academy itself, it was the unfathomable ease with which he did it.

There was no rest, no apocalyptic battles, no drawn out back and forth.

Instead, it was one man, letting his opponents try their hands at stopping him, only to void all their efforts with a word and a punch, it was jarring to experience..

And not to mention the last match, the crowd were forcing themselves to believe he had already acquired something extremely similar or even a copy of the skill Apollo had used earlier, because if it wasn’t that, then their minds would go haywire from the implications..

They didn’t care about some old Devourer nonsense the instructors had though up first, their one thought was only that this little monster’s comprehension could not be that good, their minds refused to believe it..

So, they could only watch as Dante sauntered off the stage, none of the normal students daring enough to challenge him for his elite status, none of the elites wanting to test their might just yet..

.......

I walked off the stage shortly after that, I’d waited to see if I was going to get any challenges, but unfortunately, my earlier rampage seemed to have succeeded in scaring them off..

”Sigh... I guess no more fighting for me” I shook my head bitterly...

All my weariness disappeared as a body came crashing into my embrace, my lips being sealed by a pair of cool, soft ones..

Cara and I broke off as she backed away, her blue eyes shining with that dangerous light..

”Damn... you were so hot back there” she drawled, the sound of her voice sending shiver’s through my body..

”I should’ve let you handle this all earlier, that way we could’ve ditched this place and gone to do something more....productive~~” she whispered into my ears, her hot breath tickling my senses..

Damn, she was losing it wasn’t she..

Yet before I could grab her and ditch this whole shit show, a commotion caught my attention..

”Wait.. is that?”

”No way.. why is she hear??”

”KYAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! My goddess!!!!”

The delirious screaming and shocked exclamations successfully toned down my rising excitement.

I ignored Cara that had decided to attach herself to me, her hands roaming places that were quite honestly unsafe, my eyes turning to where the crowd was facing.

The moment I caught sight of the source of their sudden excitement, my eyes softened immensely..

Crimson red hair, an impossibly beautiful face, ruby red eyes that were somehow swirling in on themselves(I wonder why that was).

Although her current expression was a murderous one, it didn’t take anything from her beauty, instead it made her all the more radiant..

After an intense scare like the one from earlier and extensive ass whoopings, her presence was a welcomed one.

I wasn’t going to bother my mind about the inevitable clash about to ensue, I was merely going to focus on the moment, on HER..

The entire surrounding faded in my perception as only her approaching figure remained..

I smiled ”Mel.”
