Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

WHIMPER, WHIMPER, WHIMPER…

“What do you think of this sparring match?” Shen Zechuan asked again.

Gou Yu scratched his head. “Su Zhi has certainly improved at a blistering pace, but trying to take on Alliance Leader Cui Que… He’s still way out of his league, right? Three moves, tops. Any more would be impossible.”

For the Cyan Bee, one move is all it needs for a single Pet Beast. If Su Zhi sent all three of his Pet Beasts out at once, it might not even take three moves.

“I’m not so sure.” Shen Zechuan stroked his beard and said languidly, “The greatest advantage of Su Zhi’s Pet Beasts is their constant unpredictability. If the Cyan Bee can’t adapt to their trump cards, it might not be able to end things in a single strike. After all, you can go all out in a real battle. A sparring match, however, requires you to pull your punches, which demands an even greater degree of control.”

Gou Yu paused. “I guess that makes sense… In that case, do you think Su Zhi can actually last a minute?”

Shen Zechuan chuckled. “Oh, that’s still impossible, of course. I predict Su Zhi’s Pet Beasts can withstand six moves. Once the Cyan Bee is done probing their abilities, they won’t stand a chance.”

“That’s true…”

On the field, Cui Que looked at Su Zhi, her eyes narrowing slightly.

“Sorry, but I’d like to get this over with, so I’m going to make it quick. Don’t take it personally.”

Su Zhi’s eyes flew open. The moment Cui Que finished speaking, he felt her entire aura shift, becoming colder, sharper, and more lethal than ever before!

“Shan Bao, be careful!”

Su Zhi sent Shan Bao out first. Of his three Pet Beasts, Shan Bao was the best at defensive fighting. It had the highest margin for error, making it perfect for taking the heat in a battle against a superior opponent.

The moment it landed, Shan Bao activated Hardening. As the Tier Three skill took effect, a thin membrane of light flowed over Shan Bao’s body, giving it a solid and dependable appearance.

To prepare for his first battle against a superior opponent since leaving the Secret Realm, Su Zhi had specifically allocated a new batch of points for his three little treasures.

Every single one of the 0.30 points Shan Bao had recently acquired went into its Constitution, raising the Attribute to a jaw-dropping 5.10.

What did that mean?

In terms of Constitution, Shan Bao’s innate talent was 5.1 times that of an average Flash Gold Sparrow!

Shan Bao could master most Defense Skills with ease and often reach a higher ceiling with them. At this point, many Pet Beasts would be powerless against Shan Bao, even if it just stood there and did nothing.

This time, however, Su Zhi felt no sense of security whatsoever.

The instant the Cyan Bee moved, a prickling sensation, as if thorns were digging into his back, washed over him!

“Shan Bao, dodge!” Su Zhi commanded instinctively.

SWISH! The next moment, a blurry, violet-cyan light flashed across the battlefield, arriving in front of Shan Bao in an instant.

Both Shan Bao and Su Zhi had anticipated the Cyan Bee’s surprise attack, but they had still underestimated the ferocity of a Four-star Exotic Beast. Or rather, in the face of such an absolute disparity, even with forewarning, their bodies simply couldn’t keep up with its Four-star speed!

WHOOSH—

In the nick of time, Shan Bao managed to activate Flash Gold Teleportation, instantly moving to another spot.

But Su Zhi’s expression didn’t relax in the slightest. On the contrary, he looked even more shocked.

It wasn’t that the Cyan Bee had failed to hit Shan Bao in time. She had deliberately slowed down, letting Shan Bao teleport away before launching her own strike.

For an ordinary Pet Beast, this was nearly unimaginable, as almost nothing was faster than the Instant Teleportation of a Space Element Pet Beast.

However, when speed reached its absolute limit, the unimaginable no longer existed.

The instant Shan Bao emerged from its Flash Gold Teleportation, the Cyan Bee’s sharp beak was already upon it.

By dodging in a hurry, Shan Bao was more caught off guard than she would have been with her initial stationary defense. But in truth, she never had a choice.

SWISH—

The Cyan Bee gently tapped its beak against Shan Bao’s chest.

[Assignable Attribute Points (Shan Bao)… 0.05]

Shan Bao was out.
