Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Luo Sen stood with his hands in his pockets, his expression flat. “Alright, alright.”

Su Zhi asked, “So, when should I contact you?”

Luo Sen said, “Whenever. Anytime you’re free is fine.”

Su Zhi muttered, “I see. That’s pretty flexible…”

As they spoke, a figure slightly wider than the tent’s entrance squeezed into the Divine Strategy Alliance’s main tent.

Gou Yu walked up to Luo Sen, his hands clasped meekly in front of him and a form clutched in his hand.

It dawned on Su Zhi. “Vice Alliance Leader Gou? Oh, right, I forgot you were here.”

Gou Yu: “…”

‘Whatever. I’m used to it by now.’

“Why the long face? Doesn’t this just go to show how amazing your Beast Taming Talent is?”

Luo Sen grinned, taking the form from Gou Yu. He stamped it with an official seal before handing it back. “There.”

“Thank you, Luo—” Gou Yu took it with both hands. When he saw the red stamp on the form, he was moved to tears.

‘The proof for the research mission… I finally have it.’

‘I’ve finally met my quota. I won’t be dragging down the Dark Alliance in the performance evaluations anymore, and Alliance Leader Cui Que won’t beat me again!’

A distinguished Vice Alliance Leader being sent out on labor detail was a shocking concept in the Common Defense Alliance. But Gou Yu didn’t mind. This was the epitome of “Success doesn’t have to be mine, but I must be part of the process.”

‘I’m sure everyone in the Dark Alliance will remember my quiet sacrifice…’

“I heard Gou Yu was here. I’ve come to pick him up.”

A cool, crisp voice sounded from outside the tent.

Su Zhi followed the sound with his eyes, seeing a short-haired woman step into the tent with the quiet grace of a cat. She wore a black, form-fitting combat suit, her loose Alliance Member uniform draped over her shoulders like a coat.

A cold light shone from her deep cyan eyes. A single glance from her felt like a kunai at one’s throat.

The moment he saw her, the hairs on Su Zhi’s arms stood on end.

She had a petite build and a youthful face, yet she possessed a sharp, fierce aura that was the complete opposite of her appearance.

Even though it was their first time meeting, Su Zhi recognized her in a single glance—

‘This must be the Dark Alliance’s leader, Cui Que.’

‘She’s not that young, though. She has to be at least ten years older than me…’ Su Zhi pressed his lips together, deciding not to ask exactly how much older for fear of getting beaten up.

“Welcome, Alliance Leader Cui Que! Your presence brings light to my humble home~” Luo Sen said with a wide grin that revealed blood-red teeth.

Cui Que’s expression remained flat. She was clearly unimpressed by his flamboyant tone and gestures, but she said nothing more.

Luo Sen said nonchalantly, “Alliance Leader Cui Que, the intelligence Su Zhi reported is highly significant. I’ve already forwarded the audio recording and text transcript to the Dark Alliance, so be on the lookout for it.”

“The Dark Alliance has received it,” Cui Que said with a nod, her gaze landing on Su Zhi.

“You must be Su Zhi.”

“I am,” Su Zhi replied, bowing quickly. “Greetings, Alliance Leader Cui Que!”

“Mm. You did a good job this time. You were a great help to us.”

Cui Que then turned to Shao Ya. “You’re an outstanding kid, too. Senior Shao Yun mentions you often.”

Shao Ya scratched her head, embarrassed. “Ehehe.”

‘This feels different, somehow! Being praised by a senior who rarely speaks… The sense of accomplishment is way higher than just getting a normal pat on the back.’

Cui Que seemed to have more to say, but she suddenly stiffened and frowned.

“Stop messing around. I told you, I’m on official business.”

“No means no.”

“Even if you try to act cute, I’m not giving in…”

“…”

“Sigh… Alright, alright.”

Cui Que sighed in resignation.

A golden Beast Taming Light Array then appeared beside her. Just like her, this Light Array was much more petite than usual, its outline only about the size of a basketball.

Su Zhi and Shao Ya both watched it with curiosity.

The size of a Beast Taming Light Array is often closely related to its Pet Beast. If one were to contract a massive Pet Beast like an Earth-necked Dragon, the Light Array alone could be several hundred square meters.

‘But if the Light Array is only the size of a basketball, just how small could the Pet Beast be…?’

As the two watched, a swift shadow of light green and deep purple shot out of the Light Array. After a few quick turns in the air, it hovered steadily.

It was a tiny bird, no bigger than an egg, its body covered in interlocking feathers of light green and deep purple. Its two pairs of wings beat rapidly yet smoothly, stirring up a cool breeze that felt wonderful in the summer heat.

At first glance, it looked somewhat similar to a Cyan Feathered Falcon, but its feathers were far more delicate, and its overall form was much more streamlined.

Su Zhi’s dedicated Beast Tamer device was out of battery, but Shao Ya’s reacted at once:

[Pet Beast: Cyan Bee (Cyan-striped Bee-eater)

Attribute: Wind, Dark, Fighting

Race: Middle Commander

Real-time Energy Value: 21,003]

“CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP!” The little bird let out a series of rapid, excited chirps, leaving Shan Bao completely stunned.

It was the first time she had ever known a bird could chirp that fast.

Seeing the scan results on the phone, both Su Zhi and Shao Ya’s eyes widened in shock.

The Cyan-striped Bee-eater, the evolved form of the Cyan-striped Hummingbird, was known by the moniker “the Miniature Nuke.”

The public often considered the Cyan Feathered Falcon the prime example of a mobile Pet Beast, yet the Cyan-striped Bee-eater was actually the fastest Pet Beast on Blue Star. Even most Space Element Pet Beasts couldn’t hope to match its speed!

The Cyan-striped Bee-eater’s attack power was immense. Combined with its unparalleled stealth and weakness-detection abilities, it could often defeat opponents far stronger than itself, making it virtually impossible to defend against.

The Dark Alliance even featured this Pet Beast on its Alliance Flag. The bird was also notoriously difficult to form a contract with, only favoring human Beastmasters it deemed as agile and deadly as itself.

Su Zhi and Shao Ya couldn’t help but look at Cui Que with a newfound level of respect.

‘Don’t be fooled by her harmless looks. Anyone who becomes an Alliance Leader has to have a story or two, right?’
