Chapter 1817  Blood for Blood!!

Tang Shaoyang had set his eyes on the man called Mein, even though the leader of the Imperial Investigator was standing between him and Mein.

”Wait! We can maybe resurrect your team!” Kenver tried his best to persuade Tang Shaoyang, realizing he was at a disadvantage. If Edson had not lent them a hand, then Kenver would not have been confident enough to subdue the Senior Administrator. ”You have someone with resurrection skill in your legion, Edson! Use the skill on that person!”

”Itʼs useless, Chief Kenver. Look at the spear your subordinate used.” Commander Edsonʼs voice echoed in response.

Tang Shaoyang calmed down slightly at the word of resurrection. He might have a way to bring back Castor, but he needed sacrifice, and he had his eyes on the sacrifices. He signaled his hand at his spirits, indicating they could make their move right now.

Avynʼs figure dashed toward the Chief of the Imperial Investigator, knowing this person might be the strongest one. Meanwhile, his spirits spread out, going for the soldiers that had been marked.

He used the Nine Heavenly Gate right away, the fourth gate, Heavenly Steps - Heavenly Stride. His figure blurred, leaving the golden trail.

Mein was prepared for the fight because this was what he wanted. He used the bloodline transformation. An afterimage of a lion with a black mane roared behind him. His figure got taller, his chest got broader, and his hair turned into black fire.

Tang Shaoyang arrived right before Mein in the blink of an eye. His right hand was covered in a mixture of Chaos and Heavenly Energy. The gold and the black energy circulated in harmony. It was the fourth heavenly gate, Heavenly Fist - Heavenly Crushing Strike.

Mein also sent his punch, never having an intention to run away from Tang Shaoyang despite the powerful energy radiated from Tang Shaoyang. The two fists clashed and spread out the pulsating energy that clashed.

Meinʼs eyes widened in shock because his fist was one-sidedly overwhelmed. His right hand was shattered and the impact reached his chest. His muscled chest dented in as his figure flew backward from the impact. The Imperial Investigator crashed into several buildings.

More than ten buildings crumbled, and the rubbles fell on the figure. The lionʼs roar resounded once more as a massive figure came out from the rubble. A lion with gray fur and a black mane emerged. It was Meinʼs True Transformation. Realizing the gap between them, he did not hesitate to use his True Transformation right away.

The lion was ten meters tall, and eighteen meters long. The fur around its ankle lit up in the black fire, and the black blazed in the black fire as well. Its yellow eyes revealed a savage glint, staring at its prey, Tang Shaoyang.

Tang Shaoyang took out the Azure Dragon Blade in response, and at the same time, he used the ninth heavenly gate, Heavenly Beast - Azure Dragon. The image of the azure dragon formed behind him, letting out a savage roar. Holding the sword with his two hands upward, he activated the fifth heavenly gate, Heavenly Swords - Heaven Fall.

He did not stop there as he activated one more skill, the original skill from the Azure Dragon Blade - Azure Dragon Descent. He combined three skills, Azure Dragon Descent, Heavenly Fall, and Heavenly Beast - Azure Dragon.

The sky was split open, illuminating the world with its radiant light. It was like a gate opened in the sky, and Tang Shaoyang swung his sword down. A massive golden sword came down from the splitting sky. At the same time, the roar of the dragon resounded once more.

The Azure Dragon descended together with the sword, coiling around the sword as it dove toward the lion. Everything happened in a split second.

”Form the barrier! FORM THE STRONGEST BARRIER!” Commander Edson was entranced at first by the skill, but he soon snapped out and realized that this might destroy the frontier. They must minimize the damage to the barrier.

As the sword stabbed the lionʼs back, the barrier formed. At the center of the battlefield in the middle of the frontier. The sword exploded in the brilliant light, mixed with the azure color. Everyone was blinded by the light. It was followed by two roars afterward, the dragon roar that flew toward the sky again, and the weakened roar from the lion.

The blinding light dissipated and revealed a massive hole where the lion was standing a while ago. Everyone could see the golden swordʼs hilt, sticking out from the hole, and also a weakened lion roar from the hole.

The sword only affected the area that got hit with it, the barrier that was formed in a hurry was still standing. A hole twenty meters in diameter formed where the sword landed, and a figure stood at the edge of the hole.

Mein was pinned to the ground with the golden sword pierced through his back. He lost his vigor, no longer exuding the same energy and aura as before, weakly lying down in the center of the pit. The faint breathing could be heard from the snout, his eyes half-opened.

Mein did not think he was stronger than Tang Shaoyang, but he did not expect that the gap between them was overwhelming. He lost without being able to do anything. Only two attacks were needed to take him down.

He was right before deathʼs door, and yet a smile formed. He had achieved his goal, provoking the administrator to attack him. Even though Commander Edsonʼs decision was out of his prediction, he believed the Hurakan Kingdom would not let this slide for killing the Imperial Investigator in the Hurakan Kingdomʼs frontier.

Tang Shaoyang landed in front of the dying lion. He could not understand why the man was still smiling, but he did not feel guilty for killing the man, blood for blood. He did not regret his decision even though it meant he made the Hurakan Kingdom his enemy. What was more important was after killing Mein.

”Arenʼt you curious why I am happy right now?” Mein asked weakly. ”I have achieved my goal even if I have to pay it with my life. You administrators will bear the wrath of the Hurakan Kingdom for killing an Imperial Investigator!”

”I donʼt care. My goal is to kill you, and I have achieved my goal. Do you think I am afraid or worried of the Hurakan Kingdom who could not even kill the king?” Tang Shaoyang shook his head.

He formed a Chaos Blade and aimed the tip of the sword at Meinʼs head. Before Mein could say anything further, the sword pierced the lionʼs head. There was disbelief and surprise in his eyes before his death. He was still in disbelief that the Senior Administrator was not afraid of the Hurakan Legion.

The notification that he killed Mein rang in his head, and more notifications rang as his spirits killed the Hurakan Legionʼs soldiers.

Commander Edson glued on the hole that he did not notice anything else but Tang Shaoyang. He imagined himself in Meinʼs position, could he block or get away from Tang Shaoyangʼs sword? He did not have the confidence that he could get away unscathed.

The screams for help got into his ears, snapping out of his thoughts as he looked at the surroundings. He focused on Tang Shaoyangʼs fight, and he did not notice his soldiers who fought against the summon. The elite soldiers of the Hurakan Legion were helpless against the spirits.

Three hundred soldiers that followed Mein were being slaughtered. His subordinates who did not take part in Meinʼs scheme looked away from the scene, but obeyed his order, not to help them. One of his generals screamed, begging to save his life from the spirit. A red Orc was after his general, chasing his general like a madman while his general was in the defensive stance all the time.

More than half of his soldiers had been killed already, and it felt like the summons were toying with his soldiers. These people had been following him for a long time, and hearing their screams for help moved her heart. But then he felt a gaze on him, the sharp and murderous gaze that came from the hole. His instinct told him that if he moved to help, Tang Shaoyang would not hesitate to attack him.

Edson was aware that Tang Shaoyang was currently in an unstable state. The young administrator would not listen to anyone until his vengeance was satisfied. He once experienced the same state when he almost chased the Battle King into the Void Gate. If not for his father stopping him, he would have chased Soares into the Void Realm back then.

He looked away from his subordinatesʼ plates, it was for the bigger picture. If they fought Tang Shaoyang now, which he was not confident to win despite their number, the Void Cult would take advantage and attack the frontier once more. The best course of action was to minimize the casualty by not interfering.

People would remember him as a coward, incompetent, leader who was not willing to step for his subordinates. However, his action was in the frontierʼs best interest.
