Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Can I refuse?”

”That’s disobedience.”

”Then can I be disobedient, sir?”

He Jie smiled silently, drawing out a shiny Ming Lion from his waist and playing with it in his hand, followed by a dozen or so instructors who smiled warmly.

Huayang’s spirit lifted, saluting seriously, ”I guarantee to complete the mission!”

He Jie nodded with satisfaction, took out a tactical tablet, found it frozen, and cursed while drawing a map in the snow to explain the situation to Huayang.

Not forgetting to give a reminder at the end.

”That’s pretty much it. During the general offense, I’ll be in the vehicle controlling the railgun. If I see you glance back, hmm...”

Huayang thought of the scene where he might be executed and his eyelids twitched.

”I don’t mind being cannon fodder, but I have a request.”

”You still have a request? I’ll mark you with three sticks now. After the battle, if you’re alive, come find me to receive them; if I find you, it’ll be doubled.”

Huayang felt his muscles faintly aching, but he still said with determination, ”Can you give me two hundred more of those Evolvers with particularly good shooting skills?”

He Jie glared and sneered, ”After so long, I’ve managed over three thousand, and giving you those twenty was like squeezing from our bones. You ask for two hundred, why don’t you take all these dozen people behind me?”

Huayang looked at the instructors behind He Jie, his eyes lighting up.

The few around He Jie were a reserve team specifically prepared for communication failures or battlefield emergencies, a total of fifteen, three lieutenants, twelve non-commissioned officers, the least experienced being veterans from the battle of Zhijin.

Occasionally, they helped He Jie manage the army, privately referred to by the soldiers as the MPs.

But there was no ”MP” division on the train; they also belonged to the Armed Corps.

Huayang’s temporary special training was also supported by these dozen people.

So seeing them caused heartache.

But Huayang was even clearer about the combat power of these people, who comprised three whole lieutenant squads, commanding absolute battlefield strength!

”Sure!”

He Jie laughed angrily; if it weren’t for considering Huayang’s authority in front of his subordinates, he would’ve kicked him long ago.

”Sure my ass! Want me to serve as commander for you?!”

Huayang complained, ”You said it yourself and now you’re unhappy...”

Seeing He Jie start to draw his belt, Huayang quickly shut up.

...

Half an hour later, the blue gunfire tore through the blizzard, and the counterattack officially began.

Sister Cat wiped away the frozen line of blood on her cheek, her voice sharp, ”Call everyone, prepare for the attack!”

”Everyone, does that include those ordinary soldiers of the Mao Bears?”

The adjutant hesitantly asked.

Sister Cat’s ears flickered, her platinum pupils icy cold, ”I said everyone, didn’t you understand? Or are you saying they’re not people?!”

The adjutant shivered at the fierce aura and quickly responded, going to relay the orders.

Orders given, the gunfire soldiers fell silent.

The Mao Bears instinctively looked to their Evolver compatriots, who hesitated upon hearing the order, confidently passing a cigarette after these few days with the Armed Soldiers, asking quietly, ”Ordinary people have to go too, what if they’re possessed?”

The adjutant watched the shells streaking overhead, steeling his heart, ”That’s something for higher-ups to consider. We just follow orders. Quickly gather the people; if Sister Cat comes back and sees no one, you know the consequences.”

The Mao Bear’s smile froze, awkwardly stroking his beard.

All pent-up beasts who didn’t know how long they’d been restrained. Suddenly seeing a beautiful female officer naturally stirs some ungentlemanly thoughts, especially with her wild and fierce little wildcat demeanor, driving many Mao Bears restless, but only to find that she was no small wildcat at all, but a fierce tiger.

Sister Cat, personally trained by He Jie, excelled in baton discipline, with two hundred men, losing three non-combat on the first day, twelve badly injured, over half lightly injured, and personnel consumption rates unmatched among many units.

Moments later, returning with fierce killing intent, seeing scattered people, she exploded in fury, ”Where are the people?”

The adjutant hurriedly arrived, truthfully reporting, ”Several squads are unwilling to attack, Sergeyevich is urging them.”

The platinum pupils almost formed slits, ”Get them here. If I don’t see them in a minute, they shouldn’t bother coming.”

The Tier Two Evolver’s pressure enveloped all present soldiers, a fierce beast-like atmosphere causing over half to collapse, while the rest turned pale, trembling eyes, as if gravely ill.

The adjutant went nervously, quickly.

Not long after, the gunfire Evolvers arrived with a dozen people, feeling Sister Cat’s terrifying aura, heart skipping, yet before reporting, Sister Cat stepped forward, tail slicing long lines in the snow like a steel blade.

”Twelve seconds late.”

Not giving any chance to explain, a military dagger was already drawn to his face, severe pain pierced the bone, drawing a pitiful wail.

Beyond the pain, there was a sense of great humiliation, partially from Sister Cat being a woman, and partially from her Donghuang nationality.

Enduring the agony, Sergeyevich stood abruptly, just about to roar angrily, only to see several heads roll before him, over ten lines of blood criss-crossing among the crowd, the woman standing at their intersection, icy beast eyes fixed on him, gray-green trench coat flapping fiercely.
