Alchemy Master

Chapter 170, Northern Wasteland

Translator: Silavin

Sure enough, after Qin Yichen shielded the Beast Soul’s aura, the Dawn Mercenary Group no longer suffered from those suicidal attacks by Demonic Beasts.

The rest of the journey was quite smooth.

From the path they chose, it was clear that the Dawn Mercenary Group was not traversing this route for the first time.

Two days later, the group finally emerged from Misty Forest.

What appeared in everyone’s sight was an endless expanse of ruins and dust-filled skies. This was the infamous perilous land of the Northern Region – the Northern Wasteland!

“Little Brother, we’ll just hunt Death Spirits in the outer area, we don’t plan on going any deeper…” Xiang Wu came to Qin Yichen’s side and said.

He was very clear about the strength of his group. Hunting some of the Lowest Grade Death Spirits in the outermost area of the Northern Wasteland, obtaining a few Spirit Pearls, was already the greatest harvest for them.

Go deeper? They dared not to.

As for the area close to the Death Zone, they dared not even approach.

Qin Yichen nodded, understanding these mercenaries’ means of making a living. When he was about to take out the Beast Soul, Xiang Wu stopped him.

“Although I don’t know what that thing is, I do know that it’s not something ordinary folks like us should possess. You keep it, consider it as my thanks for saving us all.” Xiang Wu’s face was full of sincerity. He was well aware of the danger of possessing treasures he could not keep.

Qin Yichen could only accept. He also knew that if this thing was seen by others who recognized its value, the entire Dawn Mercenary Group would not be spared.

“Brother, if you don’t mind, after finishing this job, go to Heavenly Unicorn City. Go to the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce and find someone called Ye Liangchen. Tell him Qin Yichen sent you. If you do, your days will be more stable.”

After saying this, Qin Yichen rubbed Little Xuan’s head again, then floated away under the shocked gazes of the mercenaries.

Xiang Ya’s eyes were filled with longing as she watched his departing figure, lost in thought.

“Sigh, silly girl, don’t think about it. That kind of person is not someone we can aspire to be with.” As the mercenaries were discussing among themselves, Xiang Wu came to her side and comforted her in a low voice, while sighing inwardly.

The name Qin Yichen was known even to them. In the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty and surrounding kingdoms, he represented a miraculous existence. His numerous deeds had long been spread as legends.

Having witnessed Qin Yichen’s abilities, they were even more aware of how terrifying the strength of this teenager really was!

After parting with the Dawn Mercenary Group, Qin Yichen headed straight into the Northern Wasteland, making his way towards the Death Zone.

On the grey, desolate land, huge ravines crisscrossed, making the entire land look somewhat shocking.

A suppressive and cold aura permeated every corner of this world.

Qin Yichen’s figure moved rapidly across this barren land, his gaze vigilantly scanning the surroundings.

*Whoosh!* Just as Qin Yichen had walked about a kilometre, several humanoid monsters emerged from a ravine. These humanoid monsters were surrounded by eerie Yin Energy, and were quite terrifying to look at.

Their bodies appeared very illusory, to the extent that one could see through it to the scenery behind.

These monsters were a special kind of creature spawned in this unique region of the Northern Wasteland – Death Spirits!

Death Spirits were classified by Grades, which can be distinguished by the degree of illusoriness of their bodies and the fur on their bodies.

Like the Death Spirits appearing before Qin Yichen now, their bodies were extremely illusory, and their surfaces only had some fluffy white fur. These were only the Lowest Grade ordinary Death Spirits of ten to twenty years.

This kind of Death Spirits was probably only at the Martial Masters when alive, so they only grew white fur.

Above these were Death Spirits comparable to Martial Grandmasters. Those Death Spirits’ bodies had become somewhat materialised, and the fur on their bodies would turn black.

There were also Death Spirits comparable to Spirit Realm experts. Their bodies were almost completely materialised, and the fur on their bodies was a terrifying red colour.

If Qin Yichen encountered this kind of red haired Death Spirits right now, he could only choose to flee!

“Mere ten year Death Spirits.” Qin Yichen glanced indifferently at those white haired Death Spirits. With a thought, a milky-white slender sword appeared in his palm.

“Oh?” However, just as Qin Yichen was about to use his Sword Control Technique to deal with these white haired Death Spirits, he suddenly had a thought. Then, a faint smile curled at the corners of his mouth.

*Whoosh!* As the Spirit Body Technique operated, strands of nearly transparent Yuan Energy that rose like flames appeared in Qin Yichen’s hand. As this Yuan Energy appeared, the temperature around him rose, and that uncomfortable Yin Energy seemed to weaken at this moment.

*Whoosh! Whoosh!* In response to Qin Yichen’s actions, those white haired Death Spirits, without a hint of intelligence, seemed to notice nothing. In their withered eyes, only ferocious colours surged. Then, these Death Spirits pounced towards Qin Yichen with bared teeth and claws.

“Destroy them!” Qin Yichen lightly uttered a command, then waved his arm. A thin strand of Yuan Energy whistled out, directly enveloping these white haired Death Spirits.

Under the wrap of his special Yuan Energy, these white haired Death Spirits did not even have time to let out a miserable howl before they were directly vaporised into nothingness.

*Clink clink…* Where the Death Spirits disappeared, several slightly dim Spirit Pearls fell to the ground, making a crisp sound.

“Spirit Pearls!” Qin Yichen murmured, casually picking up those dim beads from the ground. They were why he came here.

As the Spirit God Technique operated, these Spirit Pearls turned into strands of pure Spiritual Energy that were inhaled through Qin Yichen’s nose and mouth.

“Too little.” Although the absorption of this Spiritual Energy made Qin Yichen feel slightly invigorated, it did not add much to his Spiritual Energy. He did not even feel any growth.

After all, his current Spiritual Energy was already equivalent to the first level of Peak Martial Grandmaster Realm. These white haired Death Spirits’ Spirit Pearls no longer had much effect on him.

Of course, having something is better than nothing, and little bits add up.

“I was delayed for a few days in Misty Forest, I need to speed up, otherwise I won’t make it to the opening of the Death Zone…” Thinking this, Qin Yichen quickened his pace.

He was becoming more and more confident about the journey to the Death Zone.

The reason was naturally that when he operated his Yuan Energy, he felt that special suppressive feeling on his body completely disappear. Further testing confirmed his guess… his Yuan Energy countered Death Energy.

This made Qin Yichen even more curious about what Attribute this special Yuan Energy was.
