Alchemy Master

Chapter 157, Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Translator: Silavin

From the time Qin Yu could remember, he vaguely understood that although his Father was the Eldest Son of his Grandfather, he was not as favoured as his Second Uncle, Qin Haoran. Perhaps it was because Qin Haoran was more attentive to the Elders, and also had good talent, so he was always valued by Qin Baihe.

Qin Yu also remembered very clearly that if it was not for Qin Haoran offending the Prime Minister and marrying a woman from who knows where, the position of Patriarch of the Qin Family today would have been Qin Haoran’s.

Therefore, deep in his heart, Qin Yu had a sense of disgust towards Qin Haoran!

As for the so-called family affection? Hmph!

A person who had been expelled from the Family for more than a decade was just a stranger to him, what Family affection was there to speak of?

Qin Yu did not want his and his Father’s positions to be affected.

Originally, finally seeing a relative, Qin Haoran was very excited in his heart. He was about to rush into the Qin Family Residence to see his Elderly Father and check if he was still in good health.

However, Qin Yu’s words were like a bucket of cold water poured on his head, extinguishing his enthusiasm.

Especially after hearing Qin Yu insult his Wife like that, Qin Haoran’s face immediately became angry. He glared at Qin Yu and questioned, “Qin Yu, is this how a Nephew talks about his Aunt? You’ve gone too far!”

After saying this, Qin Haoran, full of anger, walked over and raised his hand to slap Qin Yu.

In order to return to the Family, to let fallen leaves return to their roots, Qin Haoran had originally planned to endure some insults. He did not think it would be a big deal. After all, he had disappointed and hurt his aged Father so much back then.

However, Qin Haoran’s bottom line was his beloved Wife. He could be insulted but what wrong did she do? He could not allow her to receive even a slightest insult. Once this point was touched, he might as well not enter this Family gate!

After all, he had not entered this Family home for more than a decade, it was not like he absolutely had to enter!

However, Qin Haoran had somewhat overestimated his own strength and underestimated his Nephew from the Royal City. He was just a Martial Master, while his Nephew Qin Yu, with decent cultivation talent, was already a Peak Martial Master. Qin Haoran’s slap was instantly caught by the latter, and then Qin Yu’s other arm slapped back, cursing, “Our Qin Family doesn’t have someone like you! Get lost!”

At this moment, Li Qun, the guard who had been quietly standing behind Du Binglan, instantly flashed to Qin Haoran’s side, and at the same time, slapped Qin Yu’s shoulder.

*Slap!* It was fortunate that Li Qun only used one or two tenths of his strength in this palm strike, considering Qin Yu was Qin Haoran’s Nephew. Otherwise, as a Martial Grandmaster, this palm strike would have been enough to make Qin Yu spend the rest of his life in bed.

“Damn it! My arm…” Even so, Qin Yu, who was merely a Martial Master, after taking this palm strike, his shoulder immediately dislocated. His body fell in front of the main gate. A shrill scream of pain also came from his mouth.

“A Peak Martial Grandmaster!” Seeing Li Qun take action, the few guards who were originally following behind Qin Yu immediately changed their expressions and stopped their steps towards him.

A Peak Martial Grandmaster, even at the first level, was definitely someone that a Third Tier Force like their Qin Family needed to treat with courtesy.

In the Qin Family Residence, there was also a Guest Officer at the first level of Peak Martial Grandmaster Realm. Even Qin Yu, who usually lacked manners, would respectfully call him ‘Uncle Lu’ when he saw that Guest Officer.

“Ah… Quick, go call Uncle Lu. Someone has struck me!” Lying on the ground, holding his shoulder, Qin Yu also sensed the powerful aura emanating from Li Qun. Immediately, he screamed in pain while angrily ordering the guards to call for help.

The guard at the door looked at Qin Yu, hesitated for a moment, but still thought it would be better to listen to the Young Master. After all, the current Patriarch of the Qin Family was Qin Yu’s Father.

In less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, a man in his forties or fifties, wearing tight-fitting clothes and carrying a man-high large knife, quickly walked out of the Qin Family Residence.

Upon seeing Li Qun, this man frowned.

He sensed an extremely dangerous aura from the latter. He immedaitely asked Qin Yu, who was wailing on the ground, “Qin Yu, what’s going on?”

How could such a strong expert come to cause trouble for no reason? This did not make any sense. Moreover, the Qin Family had not offended anyone recently.

“Uncle Lu, he broke my arm and is being so arrogant in front of our Qin Family Residence. Quickly teach them a lesson!”

Qin Yu thought a saviour had arrived and shouted with all his might.

Hearing his words, this man’s face became somewhat ugly. Because he vaguely felt that the person before him was definitely above him in cultivation. If he were to make a move, this would definitely not end well.

Immediately, he held his large knife, stood at the door, his face showing an uncertain expression.

He did not pay attention to Qin Yu.

The Qin Family was just a Third Tier Family, without any wealth to hire truly strong experts. If it was not for some favours he received from Old Qin in his youth, he would not have come to the Qin Family.

Even in the Qin Family Residence, the Patriarch Qin Haomin addressed him as a peer. How could he listen to the commands of a youngster like Qin Yu!?

Most importantly, even for the sake of the Old Patriarch, offending a Peak Martial Grandmaster with an unknown background was not a wise choice.

In the Royal City, there were countless Forces! The Qin Family might have some status in this small corner, but outside this small corner, they did not even qualify to polish the shoes of those big and small Forces in the city centre.

“Friend, may I ask what this is about…?” The man cupped his hands towards Li Qun and politely asked.

Li Qun did not answer his question, but instead stood back behind Qin Haoran.

The distinction between Master and servant was clear!

This scene was observed by the man holding the large knife, and his pupils could not help but contract.

Just from Li Qun’s attitude towards Qin Haoran, a lot could be inferred.

The attitudes of guards, Guest Officers, or Chief Alchemists towards their Masters were all different. Like his attitude towards Qin Yu, it was the attitude of a Guest Officer. Meanwhile, Li Qun’s attitude towards Qin Haoran indicated that Li Qun was merely this person’s guard.

Someone who could have a Peak Martial Grandmaster as a guard must have an extraordinary background!

[This idiot is trying to bring disaster upon the Qin Family!] He immediately thought of how Qin Yu must have gone out and offended someone, and this was just retribution.

If it was really revenge, then the Qin Family would probably not escape this calamity!

“How can I address you, Sir?” Sweat hanging on his cheeks, he dared not act rashly.

“I am Qin Haoran, Qin Baihe is my Father, Qin Haomin is my Older Brother. The reason Guard Li took action just now was because Nephew Qin Yu spoke disrespectfully and insulted my beloved Wife. I hope this Brother can help me go in and report this to my Father.”

Qin Haoran sighed, still cupped his hands towards the man holding the knife, and said in a calm tone.
