Chapter 889: Chapter 323: Baptism Again (Double-Length Chapter)_2

”Undead Witchcraft?”

”Or is there something strange about that Warhammer? An undead artifact?”

Edmondo finally understood how Ecosela was killed.

In his position, if caught off guard, it would also be hard not to be heavily injured by an assassin-type enemy wielding such an ’artifact’!

Additionally, at this moment, it’s not that he doesn’t want to retreat, but can he really escape the speed the opponent is displaying?

Control the Earth Snake to attack?

That won’t work either!

Because the Legendary Earth Snake is too large, and the opponent’s speed is unbelievably fast.

So, the first priority is still to limit the opponent’s speed!

”Ice Roar!”

With a wave of Edmondo’s hand, a tornado mixed with ice shards violently swept in all directions!

Edmondo’s intention was clear—to use the cold to numb the opponent’s limbs and thus slow down their attack speed.

In the face of such a widespread Ice Element witchcraft, Rein could only retreat slightly, then use the Kite Shield formed by morphing Silver to defend in front, weakening the opponent’s ice damage.

But Edmondo’s tactics clearly didn’t stop there, as he quickly muttered spells under his breath!

”Blizzard!”

As the incantation ended, a dense black cloud suddenly appeared above Edmondo’s head, and the temperature plummeted instantly!

Snowflakes as big as goose feathers, mixed with ice particles, began to fall from the sky, enveloping the area tens of meters around. The guards responsible for surrounding and watching also suddenly felt an overwhelming cold surging in!

Similarly, Rein, positioned on the Earth Snake’s head and only seven or eight meters away from Edmondo, naturally felt the cold even more intensely!

However, Edmondo seemed to forget one thing.

The giant Earth Snake under his feet was also not highly resistant to the cold.

Feeling the vigorous cold emanating from above, the Earth Snake momentarily felt drowsy, lowering its neck and laying down on the ground.

This unexpectedly delighted Rein!

Because fighting atop the Earth Snake severely limited his movement range unless he jumped off.

But now that the Earth Snake was lying down, it meant he could freely roam around and seek an opportunity to strike.

As Rein realized this, Edmondo also immediately noticed the issue.

Although he could command the Earth Snake, he couldn’t go against its nature and instincts.

Just as a dog trainer cannot train a dog to eat bamboo like a panda, likewise, when the surrounding temperature drops below a certain threshold, the Earth Snake instinctively reduces its desire to move and begins to sleep.

Edmondo reacted quickly, making a rapid decision.

He jumped off the Earth Snake, retreating swiftly towards the place with the most guards in the mansion. As he moved, the large black cloud above him followed, and the core area of the Blizzard began to shift gradually.

Rein quickly understood his opponent’s strategy.

The opponent intended to distance himself, allowing the Earth Snake to escape the influence of his Ice Element witchcraft.

Rein naturally couldn’t let his opponent succeed!

”Armor-Breaking Strike!”

Rein’s Dual-Handed Warhammer instantly morphed into a Riding Spear, and he simultaneously executed the Top Secret Technique ’Shadow Step’ combined with ’Armor-Breaking Strike’!

He became like a silver lightning bolt, directly targeting the retreating Edmondo.

So fast was his speed that although Edmondo saw Rein in place one moment, in the next, Rein was suddenly in front of him with the Riding Spear in hand!

”Sii!!!”

The spear tip clashed violently with the Ice Shield!

The next moment, the Ice Shield shattered!

Even the surface Ice Armor, by a narrow margin, was almost pierced through.

This strike from Rein made cold sweat almost drip from Edmondo’s forehead!

”Damn it! What power!”

”Where did such a young powerhouse come from!”

What Edmondo didn’t know was that Rein’s seemingly unremarkable strike actually contained the sprint from the Top Secret Technique ’Shadow Step’, a twenty-seven-point strength boost provided by nine parts Soul Energy, Intermediate Giant Force from his talent, and the Dragon Bloodline enhancement, among others.

Thus, it was possible to achieve what appeared to be an effortless strike that broke through both his innate wizardry and his Second Level defensive witchcraft.

”Snake Replication!”

In his panic, Edmondo immediately employed this signature ability of the Secret Snake Sect strongmen.

Four or five guards who could not evade in time were bitten on the neck or back of the head by the slender snake heads, and their eyes rolled back, controlled on the spot.

This gave Rein mixed feelings of both worry and joy, as he recalled what Cleya had told him before.

If someone is controlled by a snake replication for more than a minute, they will be beyond saving, forever becoming a mindless puppet.

Killing the guards in this state was both an act of mercy and a way for Rein to gather the last remaining part of the needed Soul Energy.

But, executing his own men right under the opponent’s nose was utterly infuriating!

”Sword Blade Storm!”

A female Knight enveloped in a light blue aura, wielding a Dual-Handed Greatsword, swept in from behind Edmondo. It was none other than Cleya, who had activated her Bloodline Talent!

”Ice Hell!”

Facing enemies from both the front and back, Edmondo finally used his trump card!

Suddenly, massive icy spikes erupted from the ground centered around him, both towering three-meter sharp pillars and short spiky ice balls, instantly turning the area within tens of meters around Edmondo into a white expanse.

Forcing Rein and Cleya to retreat at once.
