Chapter 854: Chapter 314 News (Two-in-One Chapter)_3

On the girl’s face, there remains a hint of the subtle shyness she had when alone with Rein.

But at this moment, upon hearing Rein’s comforting words, she responded with a soft ‘hmm’, lifted her head, and looked at his face with serious eyes, saying:

“Rein, thank you.”

Rein smiled gently, about to say something when suddenly, he felt a fresh, fragrant breeze approaching.

And Anna, like a butterfly, approached swiftly, tiptoeing to give Rein a swift peck on the cheek with her soft and warm lips.

Next, like a startled fawn, she quickly pulled away, bowed her head, and said:

“Well… Then I’ll head back now.”

Anna said, not waiting for Rein’s reply, shyly intending to leave immediately.

Yet just as she turned around, she was taken aback by a strong hand wrapping around her slender waist.

With an irresistible huge force, Anna’s delicate body was pulled back and pressed against a strong and warm chest.

Instantly, Anna was flustered, raising and lowering her hands, feeling utterly at a loss…

And the next second, she could only make ‘mm’ sounds.

Her cherry lips were already covered…

Anna completely lost track of time, feeling as if floating on clouds, until she needed to catch her breath to regain the right to breathe fresh air.

At this moment, her pretty face was flushed like she was drunk, feeling entirely dizzy.

…

—————–

Two consecutive days have passed…

While Rein continues training ‘Lance of Langicero’ in the training room, he still hasn’t awaited formal negotiations from the ‘Sam Group’.

On the contrary, quite a few people approached the elegant woman to forge connections, implying if Dickson could be released.

The elegant woman expressed that she could make decisions regarding business matters, but for such things, she’d prefer they communicate directly with Lord Rein.

Now, she no longer needs to compromise and yield.

As one of the shareholders of the Mingster Branch, she stands backed by Rein, which is her confidence.

Moreover, according to the latest Sword Bearer intelligence, Rein finds the turbulence within the province is intensifying.

Almost every day, small towns and county towns suffer attacks from cults or giant beasts, with considerable casualties.

Most reports just list casualties, with attackers identified as ‘unknown’ or ‘unclear’.

The ability to learn these secretive messages promptly is thanks to Rein being promoted to Diamond Star Sword Bearer, bringing some changes.

From a status perspective, a Diamond Star Sword Bearer is no longer merely a combatant or team captain.

In terms of importance, every Diamond Star Sword Bearer Captain is a pillar of their Sword Bearers Branch, participating in decision-making to some extent.

Just like this instance, Admiral Edward seeks Rein’s advice.

Evidently, the branch also listens to other Diamond Star Sword Bearer Captains’ opinions.

Conversely, diamond stars represent Rein’s contributions to the Empire, indicating if he chose to serve the Duke of Minter, entering the Empire’s administrative system inevitably would provide a considerably high position.

If as a governor responsible for a county town like Count Habbs, the records might seem insufficient.

But serving as Deputy Head of Security in the provincial city Mingster is unquestionably feasible.

Even if joining the Griffin Guard, he would assume at least a captain-level rank, and potentially higher if there’s a vacancy.

Rein acknowledges these changes, knowing the fundamental reason lies in his ever-growing prowess.

If not, progress to the next step might be hindered, perhaps incapacitating him in a precarious mission.

Thus, these days he hardly spends time accompanying Anna, avoiding attending those avalanche-like banquet invites, remaining secluded instead.

Rein’s time primarily consumes within the training room, rapidly enhancing his Riding Spear Extraordinary Battle Technique ‘Lance of Langicero’.

After two days, he’s reached Level 8 (122/7000), a mere step away from Level 9.

Simultaneously, he’s urging team members to heighten their combat skills.

…

Inside the study of Rein’s new residence.

“Knock knock!” The sound of knocking came.

“Come in!”

Olena, the capable lady, entered.

“Lord Rein, a task has arrived. However, here is today’s latest combined intelligence, which I think you should review first.” Olena said solemnly, handing over a set of materials to Rein.

Given the Empire’s dramatically changing situation, the Sword Holders Mingster Branch has timely established a temporary coordination agency primarily to fulfill two tasks assigned by the Empire.

Specifically, multiple assistants from each department have been tasked to liaise one-on-one with a Diamond Star Sword Bearer Captain, enhancing communication efficiency.

Therefore, Olena, most familiar with Rein, continues serving as the mission hall assistant while part-time responsible for coordination and communication with Rein.

Rein received the materials, attentively flipping through them.

The Sword Bearers provide intelligence content divided into two parts, concerning cult activities in both Meist County and Rosby County.

What grabbed his attention was a notation about ‘suspected Secret Snake Sect personnel appearing again in Meist County.’
