Chapter 870: Chapter 318: The Death of the High Priest (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

“Lord Rein, according to ancient records, these six-armed Naga possess combat power of a Senior Legend or even at its peak, and since this one is female, there’s a high chance she’s a priest of the Blood Curse Naga Clan, or even the High Priest.”

“Oh?” Rein glanced again at the six-armed Naga’s corpse.

This confirmed his previous suspicions; with such immense strength, she had to be either the Clan Leader or the High Priest.

“The Blood Curse Naga Clan is matriarchal; the High Priest’s position is superior to the Clan Leader, and these roles are occupied by female Naga.” Remiel added.

“Indeed, I have also seen similar records in ancient texts.” Neoro chimed in.

“Captain, come quickly and see, there is a letter on her.” As Rein’s follower, Viery naturally took on the task of gathering loot, raising a letter as a sign.

Rein took it, looked surprised, and said, “Hmm? It’s written in Common Language, shouldn’t it be in Naga language?”

“High Priest Celinis, please organize…. outpost…. strike when the opportunity arises…”

“Turns out, she is indeed the High Priest.”

“Moreover, it’s a letter from the Sea God Sect addressed to someone named Celinis.”

After reading, Rein passed the letter to Remiel at his side, while he contemplated and quickly outlined the outline of the situation.

The purpose of their return to the Sealing Gate this time should be two-fold.

One is to incubate the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon Egg, which was miraculously preserved; the other is likely to carry out a counterattack at the request of the Sea God Sect.

It seems that I must immediately convey this news to the navy and the Sword Bearer, to facilitate high-level decision-making.

“Evelyn, contact the branch right away to relay this letter and the rescue situation to Lady Olena.”

“Understood, Captain.” Evelyn took the letter, quickly inserted it into a small bamboo tube.

“Let’s leave here first.” Rein called out.

Without objection, everyone quickly followed Rein, heading toward the cave entrance.

Along the way, Battista and Rein were conversing:

“We were originally in Meist County, guarding against the recently emerged Secret Snake Sect members, but after receiving news of the situation here, we rushed over immediately.”

“Hmm? What are the Secret Snake Sect people up to now?” Rein listened, feeling a tightness in his chest.

“They have scattered, seemingly searching for something, not launching any attacks against the Empire.” Battista replied.

“Looks like… they’re likely searching for traces of the ancient Legendary Earth Snake.” Rein nodded and said.

“Legendary Earth Snake?” Battista was clearly taken aback.

“Indeed.”

Rein immediately gave Battista a brief summary of the previous events.

Only then did everyone realize the impressive feat of Lord Rein in front of them, having not only faced the Legendary Species Earth Snake, but also eliminated a Great Priest and a Chief Priest from the Secret Snake Sect.

“However, once they control the Earth Snake, will they honestly leave Meist County?” Viery asked.

“Highly unlikely; that would probably be when they launch their attack.” Rein pondered briefly and then shook his head, replying.

“Captain, in that case, what are we waiting for, let’s find and eliminate them first, we can’t just passively defend after they’ve controlled the Legendary Earth Snake.” Viery suggested.

“Yes, that’s what I intend to do, we should return to Meist County City quickly.” Rein naturally thought of Cleya.

If the opponent chooses to attack Count Habbs Mansion directly, Cleya would have a hard time holding them off, even though she’s now at the level of a Great Knight.

The reason is simple; even the previous Great Priest Ganon he killed, Cleya wouldn’t stand a chance against in a one-on-one duel.

And this time, the opponents are well-prepared, presumably bringing forces stronger than Ganon’s.

“Lord Rein, I’ll have Remiel and the others stay to help. They’ve tracked some Secret Snake Sect members before and have some experience.” Battista, knowing his physical condition offers no combat power, suggested.

“That would be most helpful.” Rein nodded.

…

Soon, the group exited the cave, and the guards at the entrance, naturally overjoyed, exchanged warm greetings.

Anna, having slightly recovered her spiritual power, began quickly tending to and bandaging the wounded’s injuries, utilizing ‘Healing Touch’.

‘Healing Touch’, as an entry-level druid witchcraft, consumes much less spiritual power, making it more suitable for the current situation.

Rein then took a moment to check the system notifications:

[Congratulations, your Skill Lance of Langicero has advanced to Level 9]

….

[Congratulations, you have defeated a formidable enemy and gained 12 Golden Skill Points!]

….

[Congratulations, your hidden Will attribute has improved!]

…

[Congratulations, your Weapon Master (Legendary) Profession Level has increased!]

…

Since his Weapon Master (Legendary) Profession Level was on the verge of leveling up last time, it smoothly upgraded by one level reaching Level 10 (991/20000).

This earned Rein one Skill Point and one Attribute Point.

Including the points he had previously saved, he now had a total of 6 attribute points and 3 skill points, with 22 golden skill points accumulated.

Rein glanced at the attribute panel:

…

Constitution: 47

Strength: 54 (3 points added through battle)
