Chapter 741: Chapter 286: Impact Diffusion (Two-in-One Large Chapter)_2

So he nodded and said, “Alright, let me have a look.”

Hearing that it came from Meist, Archbishop Gomez’s attention was also drawn over.

After all, he had just been discussing the issue of the Black Flame Cult in Meist.

Admiral Edward took the letter, opened it, and his whole person suddenly stiffened, unable to hide the shock on his face!

This made Archbishop Gomez, standing nearby, look worried, as his old friend rarely ever lost his composure like this.

“Could it be that I spoke too late?”

“Has the Black Flame Cult already found and resurrected that ancient Epic Strongman?” Archbishop Gomez wondered to himself.

The next second, Admiral Edward exclaimed, “An Epic Strongman?”

“This…”

Even though Admiral Edward was well-seasoned, this was still the first time he had heard of a Sword Bearer under his command killing an Epic Strongman.

Keep in mind, he had been in charge of the Mingster Sword Bearers Branch for a full eight years!

During his tenure, killing enemy Legendary figures was extremely rare, perhaps not even once a year.

Most were still at the quasi-Legendary level.

But this time, news of someone killing an Epic Strongman suddenly emerged, no wonder he was caught off guard.

“Admiral Edward, could it be that you’ve already received accurate news that the Black Flame Cult intends to resurrect an Epic Strongman this time?” Archbishop Gomez couldn’t help but interrupt the shocked Admiral Edward and asked.

“Archbishop Gomez, you’d better see for yourself.” After thinking it over, Edward handed the letter to Gomez.

His mind was also a bit confused, not knowing how to explain this matter to Gomez, and the best way naturally was to let him see for himself.

Although the letter contained confidential intelligence of the Sword Bearers Branch, since it involved a Cult organization, the Sword Bearers typically shared intelligence with the Goddess Church.

Furthermore, as the person in charge of the Mingster Sword Bearers Branch, Edward certainly had the authority to judge whether to share relevant intelligence with the Church.

At this moment, Edward was pondering over a name—’Rein’.

He certainly remembered this up-and-coming young man, particularly since he had left a deep impression when he knocked down the Obsidian Giant with a single strike.

Moreover, the remains of the golem guardians from the other day had given him an enormous surprise.

What he did not expect was that, in just a few days, the same person had accomplished something big, and it was a jaw-dropping feat—’killing an Epic Strongman’!

Though one had to add a suffix—’severely weakened.’

But regardless of any qualifiers, that was still Epic!

“What? Already killed him?” Archbishop Gomez, who had been half-closing his eyes, instantly widened them, staring at the letter with a look of utter shock.

“Yes, and it was Prince Meinya, one of the Imperial Guardians, who personally confirmed it, so the results should be without doubt.” Admiral Edward nodded, understanding his old friend’s astonishment very well.

He also did not expect that while the two were discussing how to deal with the problem, the problem had already been solved.

“Old friend, I want to ask you for a favor,” Edward said.

“It’s about this Sword Bearer, Rein, who killed the Cult’s ancient hero Mong. You saw what the letter said, he’s been marked by something, and I ask that you do whatever you can to help remove it.”

“This is… not that I’m shirking, but I have never encountered an Epic Strongman’s Will mark and can’t guarantee absolute success,” Gomez, coming back to his senses, thought for a moment and did not instantly agree.

“However… this young man Rein must be one of your favored subordinates, right? I will certainly do my best in this matter.”

“Also, I really want to meet this young man. The letter did not say how he killed an Epic Strongman of the Cult, and I’m truly curious about that.”

“Haha, old friend, I share the same question. I think we’ll find out in a couple of days,” Admiral Edward laughed when he heard Gomez’s confusion.

…

—————–

Meanwhile.

In the training room on the first floor of Earl Habbs Mansion in Meist County City,

Rein was currently using his innate wizardry ‘Metal Morphing Spell’ to continuously transform the Hardened Essence Gold in his hands, now into a Dual-Handed Greatsword, now into a Two-Handed Warhammer.

The main purpose, of course, was to test for differences from before.

Rein remembered clearly.

When he still had ‘Intermediate Steel Body,’ transforming about fifty kilograms of Hardened Essence Gold into the shape of a pseudo Sow’s Head Warhammer took about 0.3 seconds.

But now, having tested nearly ten times, the average was about 0.18 seconds, cutting down the time by roughly forty percent.

This rate of improvement was significant!

Clearly, upgrading from ‘Intermediate Steel Body’ to ‘Advanced Steel Body’ had also significantly increased his affinity for metal elements.

Otherwise, such a good effect would not be possible.

Do not underestimate such a minor time improvement.

Seen from another angle, in the same time as before, Rein could now transform more metal, both for offense and defense.

For instance, within the time previously needed to form three Kite Shields, Rein can now create four for defense, showing an immediately noticeable improvement in his capability.

The time it took to make a two-meter-long greatsword, he can now form one three meters long…

Although not forty meters, it would still have an unexpected effect in combat.

“The most crucial point is, the increase in metal element affinity not only affects the power of innate witchcraft, but all metal-based witchcraft…”
