Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 177: Chapter 145: Elf? Witch? Knight? Slave

”A small gift, just a token of my esteem,” Remi said with a broad smile.

Isaac raised an eyebrow and nodded, not refusing. He wouldn’t just be buying slaves this one time; there would be many more opportunities for cooperation in the future. So, he shifted his gaze back to the slaves in the iron cage. ”How many like this did you bring? I’ll take them all.”

Remi looked at Isaac in surprise. He was now a little confused about Isaac’s purpose for buying slaves.

He had originally thought Isaac wanted them for experiments. This world wasn’t like Isaac’s previous one; while not everyone could accept human experimentation, it wasn’t overly rejected either.

At least, as long as the subjects of your experiments were slaves, there would be no legal problems.

At most, one’s reputation would be affected.

But for experiments, you wouldn’t need such high-quality slaves at all. This kind of slave was usually bought to develop a Pioneer Territory.

However, Remi didn’t ask any more questions. As a professional Slave Trader, not asking about the use of the slaves was the most basic code of conduct in his line of work. It was just a pity he hadn’t prepared more.

”That’s a bit of a shame. I only brought over forty like this today, which isn’t many. If you need more, you might have to wait a while. I need to make some preparations.” As he spoke, Remi gently waved his right hand. The black cloth on the second carriage fell away, revealing slaves who were more or less the same as those in the first.

Isaac took a careful look and said with satisfaction, ”Mm, not bad. You can hold onto them for me for now. Start with three thousand. You can send them over as you get them.”

Remi glanced at Isaac, slightly surprised. ’Three thousand...’

The subsequent ones would surely be sold at market price, not for one Gold Coin each. ’Three thousand slaves... that’s over twenty thousand Gold Coins!’

For Remi, this was a huge deal!

’But what would he do with so many slaves? As far as I know, Isaac shouldn’t have any territory to develop...’

’Could it be for a blood sacrifice?’

Remi’s heart went cold. Blood sacrifice was different from human experimentation. Using humans as sacrifices, regardless of whether they were freemen or slaves, was not permitted by secular law.

But Remi still said nothing. He just nodded, indicating that he would deliver the subsequent slaves.

’Who cares if it’s a blood sacrifice? It’s not like I’m the one being sacrificed. Why turn down good business?’

”Then, please take a look at this...” Having secured a huge deal before they were even finished talking, Remi was overjoyed. He led Isaac to the third carriage with a wide smile.

After the black cloth fell, the creature in the iron cage made Isaac’s eyes light up. Unlike the first two carriages, the third was a ”private room.” There was only one slave inside—a beautiful slave!

Long golden hair, fair skin, a gently rising and falling chest, emerald-green eyes, pointed ears...

”An Elf?!” Isaac’s eyes widened slightly. ’And a pure-blooded one at that!’

”This... you can get your hands on these too?” Isaac looked at Remi in astonishment, seeing him in a new light.

An Elf was no ordinary slave. Their beautiful appearance, coupled with their unparalleled rarity, kept their prices consistently high. They almost always appeared at auctions, and you couldn’t even think about bidding without forty or fifty thousand Gold Coins.

For a Slave Trader, an Elf also held extraordinary significance. The ability to capture an Elf had become a watershed moment in the slave trade. Catching an Elf meant you had officially established a firm foothold in the business.

This was because Elves were a very reclusive race who lived only in the Elf Forest. According to legend, it was a moving forest, and there were very few ways to locate it.

Furthermore, all Elves possessed exceptional talent for Magic, and their power was not to be underestimated.

Even if an ordinary Slave Capture Team stumbled upon the Elf Forest by chance, they wouldn’t be able to break through its outermost Barrier!

So, feeling Isaac’s astonished gaze, Remi couldn’t help but look a little smug. He puffed out his chest and waved his hand dismissively. ”A lucky catch. What do you think, Lord Baron? Are you interested?”

”You’re willing to part with it, Sir Remi?” Isaac asked in surprise.

An Elf was not an ordinary slave. Besides fetching a high price at auction, they were also a fantastic advertisement. This single Elf slave was enough to double Remi’s business!

”If Lord Baron is interested, then for one hundred thousand Gold Coins, we can consider it a gesture of friendship,” Remi said with a smile.

This time, Isaac was truly astonished. He studied Remi seriously for a moment, then shook his head, declining Remi’s kind offer. ”I appreciate the thought, but I’m not interested in Elves. Let’s see the next one.”

At least for now, Isaac was completely uninterested in Elves. In his eyes, Elves were just so-so. Other than being more attractive on average, they weren’t much different from humans.

’Oh, right, and their talent for Magic is a bit more outstanding.’

But that was about it. For him right now, Elves held little research value. As for her looks...

Apologies, but this Elf just wasn’t Isaac’s type. At least, compared to Liu Li, she was far inferior—even if Liu Li’s appearance was just a skin.

Hearing this, Remi felt a bit of regret. He hadn’t been making a polite gesture; he had genuinely wanted to sell her directly to Isaac and, as he said, make a friend.

One could only say that was very much like a merchant.

For Remi, Isaac’s identity as a Mad Witch was both terrifying and exciting.

The fear was because a Mad Witch was insane. No one knew what he would do next, because no one knew in which ritual he had completely devolved into a puppet of an Outer God. Destruction always followed in the wake of a Mad Witch!
