Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2345: Chapter 2346: Skybridge Garden

From Nis here, Angel roughly understood the progress of the task.

These two teams will not follow the ship, but carry special flying vehicles. The Nirvana Continent is relatively closer to White Shell Sea Market; even if they set out to sea later, they might arrive first.

However, what most caught Angel’s attention was that among the team going to Mist Isle, there was actually an Official Wizard.

”Wizard Ferro is going too?”

’Fire-stepper’ Ferro, a Fire Element wizard, Angel first met him in Sleepless City. At that time, he was the stationed wizard of Sleepless City, but after Sleepless City fell, Ferro returned to Barbarian Cave.

”That’s right.” Nis said this with a mysterious demeanor, using a Witches’ Tea Party gossip tone: ”Do you know why he’s going?”

Angel was about to ask this question, unexpectedly Nis suddenly asked him back.

According to common logic, taking up a task in the Task Hall must be for rewards, but Nis posed in this gossip stance and tone, giving a feeling that things are not so simple.

Moreover, going to investigate clues of many years ago, the task itself is not considered dangerous. Even if Nis is generous, the reward wouldn’t be high enough to attract an Official Wizard to go. So there must be other reasons attracting Ferro to go.

Nis asking him back must mean the reason is at least within the known clues Angel has.

The known information is limited right now, Ferro probably doesn’t know anyone with number tattoos, so the clues must be narrowed down to very few reasons.

Considering Ferro’s identity, Angel whispered: ”Is it because of the Red Butterfly Witch?”

Nis originally had a profound fishing stance, ready to correct Angel’s answer, but didn’t expect Angel to actually touch upon the correct answer.

Nis’s expression instantly collapsed, slumping over the desk: ”Not interesting at all.”

”The Red Butterfly Witch” is also a Fire Element wizard. Ferro is likewise a Fire Element wizard; after all, being of the same path, Angel had some guesses. From Nis’s feedback, Angel knew his guess was right.

”Do Ginny and Ferro know each other?” Angel asked curiously.

Seeing Angel guessed it, Nis didn’t hide it anymore: ”Ferro not only knows Ginny, but has considered Ginny his dream goddess since his apprentice days... you know, Ginny has always been very charming. But whether Ginny knows Ferro, I’m not sure.”

”Right, this matter was told to me by the Tree Spirit.”

The Tree Spirit, knowing about the two tasks Nis arranged, even Ironclad Granny paid close attention, secretly revealed this news to Nis. Nis ”accidentally” told this news to Ferro, who almost hesitated not at all and eagerly took up the task to West Cloud Mist Isle.

As for why the Tree Spirit knows Ferro’s mind? No need to ask, as long as you live in the Mirror World, you can’t escape the Tree Spirit’s gaze. Unless you’re far from the Tree Spirit’s body, or you’ve set up anti-gazing devices.

Nis lives in valleys far from the Eternal Tree’s range actually also to avoid privacy being leaked.

However, the Tree Spirit’s personality is quite lazy, having lived for over ten thousand years. The mindset of a long-lived species has transcended past the delight of spying on people’s privacy. Generally, it doesn’t like to spy on people, and the issue of privacy leakage isn’t severe in Barbarian Cave. Unless your potential shines through even to the Tree Spirit’s attention, and Ferro happens to be quite a promising seed of potential.

”I see.” Angel sighed sentimentally, yet another story of traveling a thousand miles for the goddess. Unfortunately, this goddess here is likely facing dire fate.

”With Ferro there, the task on West Cloud Mist Isle shouldn’t be a problem.” Although Ferro is a Fire Element wizard, his personality is quite meticulous; as long as there’re traces truly damaged by energy on the island, it’s not hard for meticulous Ferro to follow the clues, let alone Ferro is quite invested in this matter.

Ferro’s joining is considered good news. Now what needs to be done is to await follow-up results.

After discussing the situation of the task, Nis eagerly threw back into analyzing the stone slab’s work. Angel didn’t disturb him and directly left the loft.

A few minutes later, Angel’s figure appeared in Skybridge Garden.

The skybridge is a sky walkway surrounding the west city. Jon originally proposed to use it as a unique walkway that not only allows for sightseeing but also provides a passage for the vehicles below.

However, Jon’s design was based on Earth civilization’s understanding, and wizard civilization doesn’t need such a cumbersome walkway.

The reason it was eventually confirmed to build the skybridge around the entire western city was partly that some witches thought they could plant Demon Plants on the skybridge, as it can absorb the most sunlight. Lianna, being the main force in promoting new city construction, also wanted to plant roses on the sky walkway, thus finalized the skybridge’s construction.

Skybridge Garden, saying it’s a garden, is actually simply Lianna’s Rose Garden.

Walking into the Rose Garden, Angel immediately saw roses of various colors: red roses in glasshouses, blue roses on the Water Dew Terrace, white roses on a tiny Cloud Island, and golden roses surrounding the entire skybridge edge.

Not only are the rose colors vibrant, but the rose fragrance is also intense. The rich fragrance attracts many butterflies dancing in the air, as well as bees flashing with dim light spinning around.

Undeniably, it’s exceedingly dreamy and beautiful here. Walking amidst it, a girl’s heart would thump passionately.

Angel didn’t come here to ignite a girl’s heart. Naturally, he came to meet Sanders.

After entering the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel sensed Sanders online. Thinking to understand the progress of the Tidal World, Angel came over, but didn’t expect Sanders to be in Skybridge Garden.

Passing through the flower corridor filled with bees and butterflies dancing, Angel spotted Sanders at the fountain pool in front of a giant rose sculpture.

It wasn’t just Sanders alone. Across from Sanders, sitting at the edge of the fountain pool, was a pile of ”flesh mountain,” which upon closer inspection, was Greya who had been hiding for several days.

Sanders was talking about something with Greya, his expression very serious.

Greya’s expression was also heavy, but as she listened, she also casually ”pinched people,” with green light flashing in her hand. Each ”pinch” conjured a few dazzling butterflies from the Membrane of Rhythm.

Apparently, the butterflies and bees in the Rose Garden were casually conjured here by Greya.

Angel’s arrival marked a pause in their conversation.

Sanders: ”Before I return, you still have time to consider. I hope you can make a decision soon.”

Greya nodded solemnly: ”I understand.”

Sanders said nothing further, turning his head to look at Angel not far away.

Angel: ”Did I interrupt your conversation?”

Sanders shook his head: ”No, we were about to finish talking anyway.”

Just then, Greya also put away her serious expression, smiling: ”I was just talking with your mentor about going to the Nightmare Realm; are you interested?”

Sanders frowned and glanced at Greya but said nothing.

”Is it for Greya’s physical body?” Angel asked.

”Yes.” Greya nodded. She didn’t intend to hide anything, and besides, it would be hard to hide from Angel in the Wilderness of Dreams. ”Although my physical body can remain active for a long time, the Nightmare Realm is not a place to stay for long. Besides, it’s mysterious and unpredictable there; who knows what kind of negative consequences might arise?”

”Moreover, the soul being away from the body for too long results in a loss of compatibility, so even if I can’t immediately retrieve my physical body, at least I need to get my soul close to it to restore some degree of compatibility.”

”Barring any unexpected events, soon I will be entering the Nightmare Realm with Sanders for exploration. Are you interested in joining?”

Greya proactively issued an invitation to Angel.

Sanders slightly opened his mouth, seeming to want to say something, but after thinking it over, he remained silent.

Since Angel advanced to become an Official Wizard, he hasn’t entered the Nightmare Realm. This is mainly because every time Angel enters the Nightmare Realm, some bizarre events always occur.

Moreover, that Queen with stitches on her face has been eyeing Angel. To this day, Sanders doesn’t know whether the Queen’s attitude towards Angel is good or bad.

All of the Queen’s subordinates respect Angel greatly, but the Queen herself has twice pursued Angel within the Nightmare Realm.

Because of the Queen’s strange attitude, the peculiar connection between Shava and Angel, and Angel’s unique nature, Sanders had previously advised against Angel entering the Nightmare Realm again for a while.

But this time, he remained silent.

Angel can’t avoid it forever; he needs to face the Nightmare Realm eventually.

Moreover, Sanders also feels that his so-called protection may not necessarily be beneficial for Angel. Given past experiences, his protection is negligible against Angel’s capability to stir up trouble. Whether it’s the Black Castle incident or the Abyssal Demon God incident, Angel not only caused a stir but also had the charisma to tackle problems independently.

Hence, Sanders did not interrupt Greya this time.

”Mentor, what do you think?” Angel actually felt some resistance towards the Nightmare Realm, not because of its peculiarity, but because he always felt he was playing someone else’s role there. This uncertain performance was something Angel found displeasing.

”It’s up to you.” Sanders paused, then couldn’t help but add, ”But I must remind you that you should know, the place Greya’s physical body is located is exceptionally dangerous, with Legendary Level creatures present.”

Though not explicitly stated, Sanders’ disposition was evident.

”Finding it won’t happen in just one or two trips; letting Angel occasionally explore isn’t a bad idea,” Greya said. ”Besides, I’ve heard that Angel gets along quite well in the Nightmare Realm; maybe he could even be an asset.”

Sanders: ”The Nightmare Realm is vast and unimaginable. Angel’s status might only be favorable in one area, and where your body is, it may not allow Angel to utilize his advantages.”

Greya thought it made sense. She had entered the Nightmare Realm from the Hante World. Even if Angel had some special status, it might not necessarily allow him to move freely within the Nightmare Realm.

With this in mind, Greya felt a bit deflated. She initially thought she might be able to leverage Angel’s skills. As Sanders had suggested, that might not be possible.

”Greya is right; honestly, going to have a look is no harm. It’s not a one-time goal; we can start by exploring the outskirts,” Angel’s voice grew softer, ”I also want to see if she will appear again.”

”She? Who?” Greya looked puzzled.

Angel shook his head and didn’t speak.

Of course, Sanders knew who he meant and nodded after a moment of silence, ”Indeed, it is time to go and see.”

Greya looked from Angel to Sanders, ”What kind of riddles are you two playing?”

Sanders said calmly, ”Outsiders don’t need to know.”

Greya raised her eyebrows, and the folds of flesh on her neck trembled, ”I’m an outsider now? Toby was created by me and should call me mom. Toby now recognizes Angel as dad, so what is my relationship with Angel? How can I be an outsider?”

Angel: ”.....What are you rambling about?”

Greya’s baseless ramblings didn’t merit a glance from Sanders. He completely ignored her and spoke directly to Angel, ”Why did you come over here, is there something you need?”

Angel shrugged, ”Nothing specific, just came to ask how things are going with you and Mentor over there.”

Finished speaking, Angel looked at Greya, whose eyes were still widened, and continued, ”Hmm, also came by to check on Greya. It’s been a while since we parted in the woods, and I haven’t seen you online. Is there anything you need my help with?”

What Angel was hinting at, of course, was the Golden Apple matter.

Greya continued to play with the butterfly in her hand, nonchalantly shaking her head, ”No need.”

Her demeanor of indifference was because before logging on, she had Asaz contact Jon through the tree group to ask one of Dream Plant Fairies in Originheart City who can communicate. They learned that the Treant had not left the Mother Tree, and moreover... the Treant had grown another Golden Apple. Although it was still small, it at least indicated that the Golden Apple wasn’t unique.

Thinking of this, Greya naturally became much bolder and immediately went online to begin her grand project of creating life forms. She even vaguely envisioned whether, once that new fruit from the Treant matured, she should have another go at deception.

Seeing Greya truly indifferent, Angel nodded, ”If you need help, feel free to contact me anytime.”

Greya nodded, then stood up. ”As an outsider, I won’t disturb you and your mentor’s chat.”

After saying that, Greya shook her soft, fleshy body and walked out of the Rose Garden. That enormous mountain of flesh surprisingly made her exiting posture seem elegant and full of grace.

After Greya left, Sanders looked at Angel, ”The situation at the location of Greya’s physical body is quite complex. I’ve explored it a few times, circling around the outskirts each time.”

”Moreover, that place, up to now, I haven’t found any detailed information corresponding to it in reality, so it seems it truly is not a projection of the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm.”

Although a projection from the Southern Domain wouldn’t necessarily assist an explorer, at least it felt relatively familiar. Like Naraku City, Sanders once found information on Naraku City in reality, which allowed for saving the familiarization process when entering the Nightmare Realm. Some anecdotes might even provide some hints to explorers.

But an alien projection is troublesome; no one knows from where it’s projecting or what oddities lie within, let alone what Magical Creatures might be encountered.

Everything about it is unknown.

And the unknown in the Nightmare Realm often equates to deadly danger.

”During the previous times I went in, I also found some brief information about that place and a map of the periphery, which I’ve mostly organized. I’ll show it to you when you return to the Tidal World.”
