Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2322: Chapter 2323: The Ghost Appears

Stone Forest Canyon was just the beginning. In the following days, Angel accompanied Reine and Sanders to several Elemental Territories.

When Angel went, there was hardly any need for him to speak.

Even though the three-part construction plan proposed by Angel, Lord Reine could build upon it and refine it in a very short time. Compared to Angel’s idealistic framework without any realistic flesh, it was more in line with the situation of the Tidal World and closer to the interests of the Barbarian Cave.

It can be said that within a few short days, Reine had mastered all the initiative and the right to speak. Moreover, with the assistance of the ”Witch’s Confession”, he gained the trust of a portion of the Element Lords. From this, it can be seen that regardless of strength or vision, Angel and Reine are not just slightly different.

Reine could handle almost everything, and Angel’s role was really as Sanders said: you just go for a trip.

Even if it was just to be a decorative prop, as long as Angel was there, maybe he could exert the ethereal and elusive divine right effect.

After being a tool for several days, Angel initially felt awkward, but later on, became more accustomed to it. Since he didn’t have to do any construction, as long as he was present, it didn’t matter if his mind wandered.

Thus, while Angel was running around, he still had plenty of energy to process and refine the information he received from Mr. Feng.

A week later, everyone returned from Source Electro Mountain to the Green Forest Domain.

Source Electro Mountain was an electric territory, and it was quite far from the Green Forest Domain. However, since their next destination was the Malaya Ice Mountain, they decided to return to Green Forest Domain to visit Nami Midori’s long-lost friend.

When they left the Green Forest Domain, they not only took Nami Midori with them but also picked up Leaf Groot and The Sage of the Green Forest Domain.

The gathering in the Region of Fire was approaching, so they left together.

Originally, Leaf Groot, as the lord of the domain, did not intend to leave the Green Forest Domain in order to protect the plant and elf spirits, but now that there was Parry Mountains, it could temporarily take its place and protect the spirits of nature for a short time.

Furthermore, the meeting in the Region of Fire this time was going to discuss the future situation of the Tidal World, which Leaf Groot also didn’t want to miss. So, it followed along.

However, even if they traveled together, they couldn’t always be together. At the Gentle Wave Coast, they parted ways due to different paths.

Angel, Reine, Sanders, and Nami Midori ventured into the Gentle Wave Sea to head towards Malaya Ice Mountain. Leaf Groot and the others traveled by land through the vast green plains to the Region of Fire.

...

Wilderness of Dreams, Originheart City.

While Angel was busy with Reine in the Tidal World, Frode was preoccupied with the newly emerged Mist of Sin. After finally managing the affairs of the forward base, before he could rest, a message popped up on the Mother Tree Interlinker.

The sender was Adar.

Inside was only a brief sentence: Mr. Drue has arrived at Star Lake Castle. He has business with the young master.

Upon seeing the message, Frode slightly furrowed his brows and thought to himself: Why did Drue suddenly come to Star Lake Castle?

Drue is Nea’s subordinate, one of the so-called Seven Pillars of the Silver Heron Royal Wizard Group. He is well known in Saint Sem City, but he is actually just a regular apprentice, stuck at the Third Level for over seventy years without much progress, which is why he chose to return to the world of mortals.

However, even after returning to the world of mortals, Drue still maintained his past habits, staying reclusive and studying peculiar subjects daily. Clearly, he hadn’t given up hope for advancement.

Given Drue’s rare outings, for him to suddenly appear at Star Lake Castle, it couldn’t be his own idea. Nea must have sent him.

What happened to make Nea send Drue here?

Could it be that the ghost of the farmer reappeared? Or is there something else?

No matter what happened, Frode decided to meet Drue first.

After exiting the Wilderness of Dreams, Frode appeared at the entrance of the Space Door, where Adar sat on a stone platform in front of the cave, radiating a faint emerald glow, looking bored as he stared into the depths of the cave.

Upon seeing Frode awaken, Adar’s eyes lit up with excitement. He greeted Frode with a full-faced smile: ”Young Master Tyson!”

Frode nodded: ”How has Shanni been today?”

As Frode spoke, he glanced into the cave altar, vaguely seeing Shanni’s figure flickering through the thick death aura.

Adar patted his chubby hands on his chest and said, ”Rest assured, Young Master Tyson. As long as I’m watching, Shanni will be fine. The last time Shanni showed signs of corruption was four days ago, and she successfully overcame it. Her condition has shown significant improvement in recent days. I estimate she will be conscious very soon.”

”That’s good to hear.” Frode felt somewhat relieved. It was thanks to Adar’s care and Shanni’s improving condition that he dared to handle trivial matters in the Wilderness of Dreams.

After discussing Shanni’s situation, Frode asked about Drue: ”When did Drue arrive?”

”About half an hour ago. I was feeling hungry at the time and went to Star Lake Castle to eat. I saw Mr. Drue coming in from outside.” Adar licked his lips and patted his non-bulging belly as he mentioned eating.

Frode was also aware of Adar’s eating habits. Ever since learning how to possess, Adar often possessed the servants of Star Lake Castle to eat and savor the long-missed delicacies of the living.

In response, Frode did not obstruct.

Although possession would lead to some loss of vitality for the living, Adar was always kind and measured, never allowing those servants to be harmed, merely fatigued for a while, after which they could quickly recover.

”I understand. Did he say why he was looking for me?”

Adar shook his head: ”He didn’t say, but I saw how anxious he looked, so I quickly came to inform you, young master.”

Anxious? Could something have happened on Neya’s side?

After pondering for a moment, Frode said to Adar: ”You keep watching over Shanni here, I’m going to check out Star Lake Castle.”

Adar obediently nodded, while Frode transformed into a spectral body, passing through the layers of mountain walls, emerging on a desolate mountain filled with hidden threads.

Aiming for the location of Star Lake Castle, Frode flew straight over.

Upon arriving near Star Lake Castle, Frode noticed a significant increase in the number of people around the castle, all of whom were dressed in heavy knight armor, with some members of the Royal Wizard Group wielding brooms.

These were all dispatched by Neya, setting up heavy defenses on the mountain to protect little Sam. Neya’s actions were both a goodwill gesture to Angel and a compensation for the misdeeds of the Silver Heron royal family towards little Sam’s lineage.

Frode remembered that a few days ago, there were only five members of the Royal Wizard Group here, but now the number had increased to ten. This was already the most luxurious lineup the Silver Heron Royal Wizard Group could muster.

The Royal Knights’ Order also dispatched five or six teams, patrolling densely on the mountain.

This deployment was definitely the limit of what the Silver Heron royalty could achieve at the moment.

Even Frode’s arrival had prompted vigilance in the defenses, as two wizard apprentices immediately flew over on brooms. After confirming Frode’s identity, they respectfully bowed before preparing to leave.

”Wait,” Frode called out.

The two apprentices in luxurious wizard robes stopped immediately.

”I didn’t see you when I was here last time. Were you dispatched recently?”

”Yes, we arrived last night.”

Frode pointed to the Royal Knights’ Order below: ”Did they also arrive yesterday?”

After receiving an affirmative answer, Frode asked, ”Why did Neya suddenly dispatch so many people?”

”We received orders...”

After a moment, Frode bid farewell to the two apprentices and headed towards Star Lake Castle.

These two apprentices didn’t know much either. Like those previously dispatched for defense, the tasks they received were directly assigned by Neya, instructing them to strictly guard against the undead.

But the specifics of where the undead were, when they would appear, or if they had appeared already... they knew nothing.

Perhaps only Drew could provide the answers.

Just as Frode descended from the sky, he saw an old man with greying hair, wearing golden chained reading glasses, hastily approaching.

”Mr. Tyson!” His voice was evidently urgent.

This person was Drew.

After Frode stopped, he nodded lightly to this former colleague from when they were alive: ”I heard from Adar that you were looking for me. Has there been news from Neya about the farm owner’s ghost?”

”Yes!” Drew immediately nodded: ”The ghost of the farm owner has completely transformed into an undead, appearing at the lumber factory at the foot of the mountain yesterday, killing more than ten people.”

Frode was also aware of the lumber factory, situated at the base of the mountain, relying on workers to harvest nearby timber.

The lumber factory could be considered the closest human structure to Star Lake Castle.

The appearance of the farm owner’s ghost at the lumber factory indicated that he had already sensed little Sam’s location. However, he hadn’t recklessly approached, perhaps due to discovering the defensive setup?

Still, ordinary undead would never care about defenses, even if they noticed them.

Could it be that the farm owner’s ghost had also become a special undead?

While Frode pondered secretly, Drew continued: ”There’s one more thing. The Knights’ Order dispatched to the Silver Bulwark Principality has discovered some related clues while investigating the farm owner’s sacrifice...”
