Chapter 2318: Chapter 2319: The Dark Demon King

”Who are you?” Melo’s eyebrows arched, shouting sternly.

Bruiser lay on the ground, stammering for a long time without saying anything. He didn’t know what to say; he couldn’t possibly admit he came to secretly see Siber.

Bruiser really wanted to say nothing, but Melo’s gaze was truly terrifying. Bruiser had lived in White Goose Town for many years and had seen its dark side, yet he had never felt such immense pressure from anyone’s eyes before.

His scalp felt numb under the stare; he knew he couldn’t say nothing.

At this moment, Bruiser glanced unintentionally at his bandaged right hand: ”I, I’m called Omolia, the Demon King sealed with dark powers, walking among mortals.”

Bruiser didn’t know what happened, his mind didn’t even process, and the lines from ”The Dark Demon King” just slipped out.

After speaking, Bruiser himself felt a bit ashamed, a faint and barely detectable red appeared on his slightly dirty cheek.

”Huh???” Melo looked strangely at Bruiser, what kind of answer was that? A Demon King walking among mortals? Could this guy be an idiot?

While Melo was questioning life, Siber standing at the side slightly raised an eyebrow.

As Siber’s etiquette teacher, Melo noticed Siber’s expression management, and she whispered, ”Do you know this little punk?”

Literal ”little punk”.

Siber neither nodded nor shook her head, instead softly said, ”An insignificant and trivial hooligan. Compared to him, I’m more curious about how Lady Melo just brought him in through the window? I seemed to see him getting grabbed inside by an illusory hand?”

Siber appeared curious, but Melo knew Siber well enough to clearly see that Siber was actually diverting the topic.

Furthermore, her previous assessment was: insignificant and trivial... on the surface, it seemed like she was belittling the self-proclaimed ’Omolia’ Demon King, but the deeper meaning was that Siber didn’t wish for him to be punished because he was insignificant and trivial.

Melo saw through Siber’s little scheme but didn’t expose it; instead, she secretly speculated, perhaps Siber knew this ’Omolia’? Since Siber didn’t want her to punish ’Omolia’, she decided to let him off for now.

Moreover, Melo’s time in White Goose Town was limited, and she couldn’t be bothered wasting it on a little punk.

Thinking of this, Melo directly performed a Binding Spell, summoning a blue rope that tied Bruiser up tightly and tossed him into the corner of the room.

Siber didn’t say anything about this, but there was surprise in her eyes regarding the rope that appeared out of nowhere.

Bruiser looked at the rope with a gaze full of wonder, now he seemed to understand how he was brought in through the window... As a fake Demon King, he seemed to have encountered a real ’Demon King’ walking among mortals.

With this thought, Bruiser felt a chill in his heart; could he escape from a Demon King that wielded such an extraordinary power?

While Bruiser’s mind filled with endless wailing, Melo turned to Siber and said, ”You’re very curious about my methods?”

As Melo spoke, she gently conjured a light sphere at her fingertips, appearing extraordinarily wondrous. In fact, it was just a trivial level-0 Trick Light Spell.

”Yes, what is this, Lady Melo? Is it the legendary extraordinary power?” Siber tilted her head, examining the light sphere repeatedly, unable to understand where it came from.

”Extraordinary power? Sort of, to be precise, it’s a Wizard’s technique, called a Spell Technique.” Melo didn’t want to waste time explaining the difference between a trick and a spell technique, so she lumped them together.

”Is Lady Melo a Wizard?” Siber asked.

”To be precise, I’m a Wizard Apprentice.” Melo: ”In order to perform such spell techniques, you first need to become a Wizard Apprentice.”

Because of the time constraint, Melo skipped the trivial details, simply unveiling a small part of the mysterious veil of the Wizard World to Siber.

Even though it was just this small part, it made Melo yearn for it.

When she’d explained enough, Melo posed the main purpose of her visit: ”Do you wish to become a Wizard Apprentice?”

”I do.” Siber nodded without hesitation.

Seeing Siber’s eager response, Melo smiled slightly. The reason she was willing to travel such a long distance to find Siber was that she understood her. This was a girl who seemed ladylike on the outside but was incredibly strong on the inside.

From when she taught Siber etiquette lessons on the Narrow Horse Main Island, Melo could tell Siber was a person with independent thinking, filled with curiosity about knowledge and the unknown.

Completely different from the mainstream trend of women at present.

Such a person might not fit in among mortals, but if she entered the Wizard World and became a truly independent and strong witch, the prospects would be very broad.

”Becoming a Wizard Apprentice isn’t something you can just want and become, you also need a test to see if you have the ticket to enter the Wizard World.”

Siber naturally wouldn’t refuse and accepted the test.

Melo immediately started clearing out all kinds of miscellaneous furniture from the room, arranging various facilities for talent detection.

While Melo was setting up the room, Bruiser, who was thrown into the corner, fell into deep thought. Melo and Siber didn’t avoid him while describing the overview of the Wizard World because it wasn’t a secret meant to be kept.

Having listened to it all, Bruiser’s reaction was the same as Siber’s; he too yearned for the brilliant Wizard World.

The Dark Demon King should not be confined to the shallow waters; the Wizard World was his destiny!

What’s more, it seemed Siber was also inclined to enter the Wizard World.

However, although Bruiser longed for it, he neither had a way nor dared to express it, being a prisoner at the moment.

Meanwhile, because Melo was well-prepared, she soon finished setting up all the tools.

”This is called the Eye of Eblas, also known as the Talent Orb, used to test if you have the talent to become a Wizard. When you touch it with your hand soon, pay attention to any changes around you.”

”By changes, I mean unusual phenomena...”

Melo explained the general situation of the talent test and ensured Siber understood before starting the test.

Siber was very curious about the extraordinary world, and Melo was also filled with curiosity about Siber. She really wanted to know if her intuition was accurate.

Is Siber really a Talented One?

The answer was revealed in a matter of seconds.

When Siber’s hand touched the Talent Orb, the orb emitted a bright light, filling the entire room instantly.

Siber herself couldn’t see these phenomena, but Melo, as well as Bruiser who was secretly observing from a distance, witnessed the scene.

”What is happening, why is there such a bright light, is that a coal lamp?” Bruiser murmured softly, seemingly confused by the question, but what he was actually asking in his heart was something else.

Does Siber have talent?

Melo glanced at Bruiser and easily saw through his thoughts. She thought Bruiser knew Siber, so she didn’t mind telling him directly: ”What coal lamp, this is the Talent Orb. When it glows, it means Siber definitely has Extraordinary Talent. We just don’t know what her specific talent is.”

”Siber truly has talent? Then, will she be leaving White Goose Town?”

Melo: ”Naturally.”

No matter what Siber’s final decision might be, the fact that she has talent was already certain. To avoid wasting Siber’s talent, even if Melo couldn’t successfully guide her into the Barbarian Cave, when leaving White Goose Town, she would inform the Wizards at the White Coral Floating Island Academy about Siber’s talent.

So, in the end, Siber would inevitably leave White Goose Town.

Bruiser heard this answer, and a hint of reluctance flashed in his eyes. In the future, would he not see Siber anymore?

He recalled in ”The Dark Demon King,” the farewell between the young Demon King and a girl from a small town, where the narrator said: They thought they would meet again in the future, holding onto the hope of reunion. However, they did not know that this farewell would be their last meeting.

The life of mortals is like a reverse journey, time swift and fleeting. When the young Demon King returns to the town, he remains young, but the girl from the town has already been buried in the tomb.

This is the most regrettable part of ”The Dark Demon King” for Bruiser. And at this moment, such a scene seemed to be projected from the book into reality.

Siber was about to embark on the path of transcendence, while the young boy from the town, Bruiser, could only watch her leave with longing eyes.

Siber did not know Bruiser. When she returns to White Goose Town a hundred years later, she might not even pay attention to his grave.

This is even more tragic than the novel.

While Bruiser was immersed in his thoughts, Siber had already returned to her senses from the talent test on the other side.

Melo asked Siber about the scenes she saw in the talent test, and after a moment of contemplation, Siber said, ”I was originally sitting on a chair, but strangely, what my eyes saw was not the scene in the room, but a vast land. There was a blue sky, towering giant trees, galloping elephants, and I myself transformed into a majestic eagle, soaring in the azure skies...”

After listening to Siber’s description, Melo immediately began searching her mind for the various types mentioned in the ”Abilas Talent Collection Yearbook.”

”Based on your description, we’ve ruled out the Elemental Side. Given that you turned into an eagle, you could possibly belong to the Bloodline Side; there’s also a greater possibility that you’re from the Mysterious Side’s Summoning System, seeing the spirit beasts of the Otherworld; or you might be from the Illusion Series, where everything before your eyes is an illusion.”

”To determine exactly which one, we’ll have to conduct a detailed test later on.”

Siber recovered from the trance of the previous talent test and curiously asked, ”So, does this mean I’ve passed the test?”

”Of course,” Melo said with a smile, ”Congratulations, you are a Talented One now.”

Next came Siber’s choice.

Should she leave with Melo, or remain reluctant to leave Whitesand Manor, staying in White Goose Town?

Siber chose to leave without hesitation, to follow Melo to the Barbarian Cave. Ever since both her parents passed, the only thing that kept her in the family was her second brother. But now, even her second brother was not at Whitesand Manor, sent to the Fimast Main Island by their eldest brother who feared him. Though her eldest brother treated Siber well, she disliked the oppressive and competitive family environment.

Rather than stay here, it was better to leave with Melo, to seek her own future.

Melo nodded approvingly, ”Then pack your luggage, and we’ll leave right now.”

Just as Siber was about to pack her luggage, Bruiser suddenly spoke: ”Can I also take the talent test? I also want...” I also want to leave here with Siber.

Although Bruiser was asking Melo, his gaze uncontrollably drifted to Siber, filled with sorrow.

Regarding Bruiser’s sudden request, Melo was indifferent, because the task this time was to guide, to find Talented Ones. Testing one more or one fewer person didn’t matter, but since this person was related to Siber, it was best to see what Siber wanted to do.

Melo looked at Siber, ”What do you think?”

Siber knew that Lady Melo probably misunderstood, thinking she knew Bruiser. In fact, she didn’t know who Bruiser was at all... Initially, the reason she diverted Lady Melo’s attention and helped Bruiser was simply because of Bruiser’s overly dramatic and embarrassing self-introduction.

Siber had read the book ”The Dark Demon King.” Before this, she even believed she might be the only one in the entire Sidamaya Islands who had read it, as she bought the sole copy from a merchant from afar while living on the Fimast Main Island.

That merchant assured Siber that the entire Sidamaya Islands didn’t have this book.

The people on the Fimast Main Island hadn’t read it, let alone anyone from this small White Goose Town.

Therefore, the only possibility for Bruiser knowing the story from ”The Dark Demon King” was that he picked up Siber’s discarded copy of the book.

Yes, Siber didn’t like the story of ”The Dark Demon King,” and even the scribbled note inside—”What rubbish, not even kids would read this, boring”—was written by Siber herself.

Because she didn’t like it, after reading, Siber casually disposed of this meaningless novel.

Unexpectedly, Bruiser picked it up and read it.

Perhaps it was because of this peculiar destiny that Siber had inexplicably spoken a few words for Bruiser before, which led to Lady Melo’s misunderstanding.

Since Lady Melo was waiting for her decision, Siber thought for a moment and said, ”Let’s leave it to Lady Melo to decide.”

Siber thought that with the words she had spoken earlier in help for Bruiser, it was enough. Now there was no need to assist further; let Lady Melo ”judge” and make the decision instead.

But what Siber didn’t expect was that Melo didn’t care whether or not to test Bruiser.

Since Siber had transferred the decision to herself, Melo responded accordingly, ”Alright, since we haven’t packed the talent sphere and tools yet, oh... Omolia, come over for the test.”

Melo promptly retracted the Binding Spell, allowing Bruiser to regain his freedom.

A glimmer of joy flashed in Bruiser’s eyes as he bowed respectfully to Siber and Melo, saying, ”If Omolia is a bit of a mouthful, you can call me Bruiser.”

Siber chuckled inwardly, thinking, ”What do you mean Omolia is a mouthful, Omolia is the name of the protagonist in ’The Dark Demon King.’ Your real name is obviously Bruiser, isn’t it?”

Siber didn’t expose Bruiser’s lie but instead teased, ”Since you want us to call you Bruiser, then what is Omolia?”

”Omolia, Omolia... yes, that’s my father’s surname, which I’ve inherited, but I don’t like it. I still prefer to call myself Bruiser.” Bruiser’s eyes rolled craftily, and he lied effortlessly.

”Is that so?” Siber smirked coldly.

”Yes, yes, just call me Bruiser.”

Melo didn’t have time for the banter between Siber and Bruiser and was uninterested in what the name was, since she didn’t expect Bruiser to possess talent anyway: ”Don’t waste time; if you want to be tested, come for the test quickly.”

Bruiser stood up and nodded, ”Alright, alright, I’m coming now.”

Bruiser imitated how Siber had done it before, sitting in front of the talent sphere.

”You’ve heard what I told Siber before, so go ahead and touch the talent sphere,” Melo urged Bruiser to go ahead.

Bruiser dared not delay, and quickly extended his right hand, but upon seeing his right hand wrapped in bandages, thought for a moment and switched to his left hand.

”The right hand is sealed with dark power, so better use the left hand.” Bruiser mumbled to himself.

Melo rolled her eyes in exasperation, already beyond the point of contradicting him.

Siber, associating it with ”The Dark Demon King” plot, covered her mouth and softly chuckled.

The melodramatic Bruiser touched the talent sphere with his left hand.

Melo was well aware of how rare Talented Ones were, and she had never expected Bruiser to be one. However, the reality was—

The talent sphere lit up.

An orange-red light, like burning flames, illuminated the small room brightly.
