Chapter 2341: Chapter 2342: Hundred-Eyed Babbitt

”Is this Hundred-eyed Babbit strong enough to be called a Deity?” Tullas asked softly in amazement after hearing Ironclad Granny’s story.

Ironclad Granny glanced at Tullas and said, ”Its true body is probably about as strong as Nami Midori, at the pinnacle of third-level Wizards. However, it possesses immense energy, but the efficiency it can exert is limited.”

Tullas: ”Even so, it’s quite strong. Granny, will Lord Pat face its hatred or revenge for killing the Hundred-eyed Babbit?”

Ironclad Granny paused for a moment and then laughed, ”Oh, come now, if Angel isn’t worried, why are you?”

Mandhela, standing behind Tullas, chimed in lowly, ”Exactly, you saw how cocky he was when he killed the Hundred-eyed Babbit; do you think he’d care? Besides, even if it sought revenge, he brought it on himself...”

Tullas scratched his head a bit sheepishly: ”I’m just... worried for the Lord’s safety.”

Ironclad Granny lightly laughed and shook her head, ”Don’t worry, this Hundred-eyed Babbit doesn’t dare descend in person. Even if its divine descent ceremony is completed, it won’t hurt Angel. Moreover, I think Hundred-eyed Babbit hates not Angel, but more the Mirror Grudge that devoured its divine thought. So, you should worry about yourself.”

Nis also nodded, chiming in mischievously, ”Angel intends to let you fuse with the Mirror Grudge, so in the end, it’s not Angel the Babbit might hate, but you. Be careful, it’s you~”

”Huh??!” Tullas froze, wondering how the stage suddenly shifted under his feet.

Seeing Tullas’s bewildered expression, Angel couldn’t help but chuckle, patting his shoulder, ”Don’t worry, as long as you become stronger than the Hundred-eyed Babbit, even if it comes for you, you’ll be fine.”

Tullas: ... How could I possibly be stronger than a Deity?

”Why not follow me? I promise to keep you safe and even find you some pretty female undead,” Nis had found Tullas quite useful lately, with his decent combat strength, and attempted to win him over.

However, Nis received no response, as if Tullas hadn’t heard a word, while Mandhela glared at Nis with malicious intent.

As the others teased Tullas into a daze, Ironclad Granny turned to Angel, ”Regarding the matter of the Hundred-eyed Babbit, I’ll inform Tree Spirit later and have him contact the Extreme Sect. Though a Hundred-eyed Babbit isn’t much, we need to be cautious about its sneaking off the Feran Continent, and I’m sure the Extreme Sect will be willing to address the gap issue.”

”Okay.” Angel nodded, suddenly remembering something, ”By the way, that Hundred-eyed Babbit seemed to emit a peculiar frequency with its eyes, which I suspect is some sort of special language, but I don’t know what it said. Granny, do you know?”

Earlier, when Angel created the Illusionary Realm, he reproduced the frequency, hoping someone might understand what it said.

Ironclad Granny dismissed it with disdain, ”From a communication standpoint, it could be considered a language, but what it said was just nonsense, impotent rage, unremarkable. If you’re interested, you can search the special classifications in Cloudtop Library’s niche language section, but such details are trivial, and it’s fine whether you know or not.”

Angel nodded in agreement; since Ironclad Granny said so, it was probably all nonsense.

After discussing the Hundred-eyed Babbit, everyone shifted their attention to the Mirror Grudge.

”After devouring the Hundred-eyed Babbit’s divine thought, the Mirror Grudge evolved to gain a Death Gas Materialization ability.” Angel expressed concern, ”Given this situation, can Tullas successfully devour the Mirror Grudge?”

Everyone’s eyes were on Nis, as he was the most knowledgeable about soul studies.

Nis thought for a moment, ”That’s hard to say; it depends on whether the Mirror Grudge and Tullas have compatible parts in terms of Soul Force. Without seeing the Mirror Grudge in person, I can’t give a definitive answer.”

Each soul, whether undead, life, or fallen undead, has unique soul power fluctuations. Nis needed to personally inspect the Mirror Grudge’s condition to make subsequent judgments.

Nis: ”But generally speaking, I’m not too optimistic.”

”The power gap between the Mirror Grudge and Tullas is too large; under normal circumstances, it’s hard to devour it unless there’s an extremely high compatibility, providing a slim chance for success. So, I personally recommend not being overly attached to the Mirror Grudge; you can find another special undead.”

After his eloquent speech, Nis’s eyes shifted as he thought of something, ”Oh, isn’t Little Sam in Star Lake Castle? Why don’t you take him to kill some people? With his special physique, maybe those killed will spawn a few vengeful special undead.”

After Nis spoke, he realized everyone was staring at him silently, and he chuckled dryly, ”It’s not about letting Little Sam kill randomly, but going to Central Empire’s death row prisons to kill those on death row.”

Nis’s suggestion had a certain feasibility, but considering the realistic scenario, if special undead appeared and weren’t promptly controlled, it could lead to a huge catastrophe. Moreover, this was not suitable for Little Sam’s personal mental development.

”If you want special undead by having Little Sam kill people, that’s unwise.” Ironclad Granny spoke.

As Wizards, killing a few people seems mundane, inconsequential.

But if Little Sam’s mind was planted with the evil seed of killing indiscriminately to achieve goals, once that seed sprouted, it could nurture a devil who disregards human values and kills innocents wantonly.

Should he become such a rampant devil, given Little Sam’s talent, it would be catastrophic for both the Wizards’ Realm and the mortal world.

”The Near Spirit Body has a unique talent requiring orderly guidance, not chaotic education,” Ironclad Granny looked at Nis, ”If you plan to continue such educational methods, Little Sam shouldn’t follow you for now.”

Ironclad Granny’s words always carried weight; if she publicly stated this, Little Sam might truly leave.

So, as soon as Nis heard it, he immediately softened, his wrinkles gathering as he chuckled placatingly, ”I’m just joking; Granny, don’t take it seriously. When Little Sam arrives at the Barbarian Cave, I’ll consult Old White and use the Academy Faction’s educational methods for Little Sam, ensuring I won’t lead him astray.”

”Little Sam is still young and requires more guidance in shaping his views; I hope you provide proper guidance.” Ironclad Granny nodded, resolving the issue temporarily.

Angel: ”Speaking of, how should we understand the compatibility scenario Miss Wizard mentioned?”

Nis also wanted to end the topic about Little Sam quickly, and upon hearing Angel’s question, he promptly responded, ”It’s quite simple; you can understand compatibility as the affinity for Soul Tricks or soul talent.”

Just like humans, some are naturally inclined towards certain elements, making them extremely compatible or highly attuned to those elements.

Souls are similar.

Although all souls can learn Soul Tricks, different Soul Tricks have varying compatibility for different souls.

Nis: ”If Tullas and the Mirror Grudge’s abilities have good compatibility, he might be able to devour the Mirror Grudge. But this possibility is low; the Mirror Grudge possesses these two abilities that are both special Soul Tricks, and Tullas may not have a high compatibility.”

”Let’s not mention the death gas materialization for now, since we haven’t yet observed what special trait the Mirror Grudge’s death gas materialization has. But speaking of the mirror space alone, it’s a soul interference ability that involves the extremely mysterious Space Series. Do you think Tullas can accommodate the Space Series abilities?” Nis said as if it were self-evident. In his view, the probability of a soul engaging with space is exceedingly slim.

”So, let’s reconsider, the Mirror Grudge may not be suitable for Tullas.”

Everyone nodded in agreement with Nis’s words, even Ironclad Granny concurred deeply.

However, at this moment, Angel suddenly spoke up, ”I think there might still be a bit of a possibility.”

Nis: ”What possibility?”

Angel: ”Um... have I perhaps not mentioned that Tullas was actually a Special Undead before?”

Nis: ”I vaguely remember Sanders mentioning that Tullas was an undead, and that you had used the Samsara Overture’s White Light Bullet on him, but I didn’t realize he was a Special Undead before. However, what does that matter?”

”When Tullas was an undead, he actually had an innate ability, and that was—”

Angel paused, and under everyone’s gaze, slowly said, ”Spatial displacement.”

As soon as he finished speaking, it was like a clap of thunder crashing down on the wilderness, leaving behind a profound silence in its wake.

Not only was Nis stunned, but Ironclad Granny and Mandhela also showed expressions of surprise, especially Mandhela, who was herself an undead and had once led countless undead. She knew just how rare it was for an undead to possess the ability of spatial displacement.

”Are you telling the truth?” After a long while, Nis finally managed to open his mouth.

Angel nodded, ”It’s true. Unfortunately, when I used the Samsara Overture to pull him back from his downfall, the spatial displacement ability disappeared too.”

Nis turned his head to look at Tullas, staring at him so intently it seemed his eyes might pop out.

Tullas had been following him all this time, yet as a Soul Witch, Nis hadn’t noticed at all that Tullas was such a potential-rich soul!

Previously, Nis coveted Mandhela, but now it seemed Tullas was even more worthy of study than Mandhela.

”Spatial displacement... This is spatial displacement...”

A mirror space already belongs to the category of crazy interference with the Material Realm; spatial displacement, however, directly enters a state of strong interference with the Material Realm!

This is a soul we’re talking about! In the Energy Realm, it’s not much for a soul to achieve strong interference, but managing this with the Material Realm is extraordinarily rare!

Even for a living wizard, achieving strong interference with the Material Realm isn’t always possible!

”All this time you’ve been with me, why haven’t you mentioned before that your previous ability was spatial displacement?” Nis asked with the tone of a resentful spouse, looking at Tullas.

Tullas opened his mouth but said nothing. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to speak; Angel had strictly forbidden him from revealing what happened in that little space to anyone else.

Even though Tullas didn’t reply, Nis wasn’t upset. Instead, his gaze was full of admiration: ”Why don’t you break away from Angel and follow me from now on? I’ll treat you well.”

The closer Nis got, the more Tullas backed away, shaking his head as he retreated.

Just as Nis was about to approach Tullas’s face, Angel sighed, stepped between the two, and blocked Nis’s advance.

”Trying to poach someone right in front of me, are you acting like I’m not even here?” Angel said, feigning irritation.

Nis, feeling no shame, replied, ”I’m only doing this for Tullas’s good; following you won’t lead anywhere.”

Angel raised an eyebrow, ”But following you, he would be led astray.”

”Exactly,” chimed in a crisp voice.

Angel turned to see that the voice agreeing with him belonged to Mandhela. When Mandhela noticed Angel looking her way, she rolled her eyes slightly and then lowered her head.

”These unrelated issues can wait for now,” Angel refocused on Nis. ”Though it’s unclear why Tullas ultimately lost his spatial displacement ability, he did once engage with the Space Series. Given that, shouldn’t there be some compatibility between him and the Mirror Grudge’s mirror space?”

Although Nis was forcibly brought back to the topic, he couldn’t help but cast one last admiring look at Tullas before responding to Angel. ”It’s quite normal for the spatial displacement ability to disappear, as this involves the undead’s Soul Power issue. If you have time, you can seek it out and see for yourself.”

”Returning to Tullas’s compatibility issue, it’s still unclear whether he and the Mirror Grudge can achieve compatibility. But at least in terms of space, there’s a high level of compatibility.” Nis: ”Moreover, spatial displacement could also be considered soul interference... Previously, I saw no hope that Tullas could consume the Mirror Grudge, but now there seems to be a chance.”

”However, I’ll need to personally examine the Mirror Grudge and Tullas’s soul body before making the final judgment.”

Angel thought for a moment and nodded, ”Alright, once I return, I’ll bring the Mirror Grudge for Nis the Wizard to evaluate.”

Nis hastily added, ”Don’t forget Tullas.”

”Of course, I’ll take Tullas along when the time comes.”

It was apparent that Nis still harbored ulterior motives concerning Tullas, but Angel didn’t point it out. Tullas was free, and if he chose to follow Nis in the future, Angel would not stop him... Though the likelihood was low, especially given Mandhela’s presence.

”Actually, Mandhela can come along too,” Nis brazenly suggested.

Angel smiled slightly, ”Let’s leave it at that. I believe if Mandhela went to your Soul Valley, she’d be tempted to kill you.”

Technically called Soul Valley, those who’ve been there know it should rather be called Naked Valley. With Mandhela’s temperament, it would surely create an upheaval.

Nis pretended not to hear Angel’s teasing, beaming, ”Then I’ll look forward to your arrival.”
