Warlock Apprentice

The Maya Witch maintained the illusion without letting it collapse and did not continue to display the ”end of the world” scene, because if the scene before the end couldn’t be located, the ravaged land after the end would be even harder to place.

”Does anyone know where this is?” Maya scanned her gaze around, looking at the wizards in the great hall.

After a round, Maya saw many people pondering but none gave an answer.

”Judging from the vegetation, there’s no apparent special symbol as these plants can all be found natively in the Southern Domain. However, this can’t completely prove that this is in the Southern Domain because these vegetations could also appear in the Outer Domain.” The speaker was Shura, who was flipping through a book in his hand while constructing various plant illusions in front of him. Each plant had its name and common region annotated beside it, and the book seemed to have turned into a botanical guide.

”If we insist it’s in the Southern Domain, according to the distribution of these plants, I’ve marked several points. It could be the Saibon Plain in the middle of the Flourish Continent, Novaradin Wilderness, the right-leaning territory of Hundred Bede Kingdom; southeast, the Changye Grassland outside the Fairy Forest, Beryon Creekland... and on the Molong Continent where the White Residence is located, there are also two or three areas that meet the conditions.”

Shura rattled off 63 regions, covering the main world and affiliated planes, and provided evidence for each, sounding very certain in his words.

”Let’s first narrow it down to these 63 regions. If anyone here has been to these 63 regions, try to think if there’s a place similar to the illusion created by the Maya Witch?”

Shura’s words plunged everyone in the great hall into contemplation once more.

This time the period of contemplation was longer than before, yet ultimately no one gave a definitive answer. About 15 regions were ruled out, but even then, 48 huge areas remained, each vast in scope, making it hard to determine if there was a similar scene.

Of course, being Prophet Wizards, many of them covertly utilized divination to seek.

Among them, the ”Strings of the World” from the three major sects, and the ”Clock of Inquiry” from the rare faction, were particularly focused on. Because one can immerse into the Strings of the World in the Wizards’ Realm to seek answers; the other directly provides confirmed feedback through questioning the Clock of Inquiry.

However, under the scrutiny of the Prophet Wizards, neither the Strings of the World nor the Clock of Inquiry gave a definitive answer.

Angler, the Strummer from the White Coral Floating Island Academy, frowned and said, ”The Strings of the World did not respond to me, as if veiled by a layer of mist.”

Tuvalule from the Song of the Deep Sea spoke up at this time: ”The Clock of Inquiry is the same, as if there’s a force obscuring the prophecy. I find it peculiar...”

The remarks from these two led others to voice their agreements. They also couldn’t use divination to probe the location, not even to ascertain if it’s within these 48 regions.

A pair of invisible black hands seemed to block their eyes from the Spirit Realm stars.

All the information was completely concealed beneath the black shroud.

They turned their gaze to the eleven observers at the center, hoping for answers from them.

The observers didn’t speak immediately but whispered to each other, seemingly discovering something. Some frowning intently, others with glimmering eyes seemingly calculating something, and some silently staring at the illusion...their behavior left the Prophet Wizards even more puzzled.

After about five minutes, Lapuye broke the silence: ”We’ve just had a discussion and unanimously believe that the reason you feel the divination is obscured may be due to external interference.”

”For example, a mysterious object...”

Without concrete information about the mysterious object, just with vague senses, the mysterious object doesn’t even need to activate. It can easily interfere with divination to a certain extent simply with a layer of mysterious power around it.

The stronger the mysterious object, the greater the interference.

Just like Lapuye this time, entrusted by the two City Lords of Sky Mechanical City, tasked with investigating the matter of Seed believers on the stargazing day because ordinary divination can’t break through the almost insoluble mystery of the Seed.

Only through the Mystery of the Stars could some clues be found.

It was because Lapuye and the observers had such a mission that they immediately connected the obscured prophecy to a mysterious object.

Lapuye’s words were like boiling water poured into hot oil, instantly igniting the atmosphere on site.

What does a mysterious object mean to a wizard?

As long as it’s not a trifling type, almost every additional mysterious object can transform into one’s inherent support. And this inherent support will accompany your wizarding path without becoming obsolete as you advance.

It can be said that the more mysterious objects one possesses, the more unpredictably a wizard’s strength changes because it allows for the execution of even more elusive tactics. The balance maintained by various witcher organizations today is partly because of the uncanny and indistinguishable strength, causing everyone to be cautious.

Yet mysterious objects are ultimately scarce, and every appearance makes all wizards flock to it eagerly.

Now, with Lapuye mentioning the possibility of prophecies being obscured by a mysterious object, how could they not overthink it?

The atmosphere on the scene grew ever more fervent amidst the rising discussion. Lapuye had no choice but to wave his staff again, forcibly resetting everyone from the peak of their emotions back to their original positions.

”What we need to determine now is whether it’s in the Southern Domain.”

”Moreover, even if it’s shrouded by a mysterious object, there are several possibilities. For example, a mysterious object hidden within the illusion created by the Maya Witch.”

”Additionally, the mysterious object might be similar to Witchcraft Garden-type, spatial in nature, and this wild illusion is within the internal space of a mysterious object.”

”Besides, there’s one more possibility. The Maya Witch mentioned seeing a doomsday vision. Could it be that this mysterious object is extremely dangerous, possessing a disaster attribute, and its existence is the cause of the doomsday’s arrival?”

Lapuye mentioned three possibilities, the last being the most striking to everyone.

When they first heard about mysterious objects, they were immediately ecstatic. But upon calming down, they realized mysterious objects are often indefinable, and due to this they have a nearly infinite risk upper limit.

Though the wizards present might not know the distinction between ”controllable, semi-out-of-control, and out-of-control,” they understand the terrifying extent of mysterious objects.

If such a mysterious object that could lead to doomsday disasters were to appear, they wouldn’t even think of seizing it.

Because without the power to control it, it would only backfire.

Lapuye looked at Maya: ”To determine which possibility specifically and whether it’s in the Southern Domain, more information needs to be collected. Therefore, I hope to see the true doomsday scenery.”
