Warlock Apprentice

”Do you have any questions now?” Angel didn’t wait for Popota to regain his senses on his own but directly awakened him.

Faced with Angel’s inquiry, Popota’s thoughts were still somewhat stagnant and slow, only managing to gather himself with difficulty.

The questions he previously wanted to ask were mostly answered when Angel threw those messages out. However, some details still eluded Popota’s understanding. But these minor details will eventually have answers in the future, so there’s no need to bring them up now.

”I have many questions, but they aren’t important now.” After pondering for a moment, Popota slowly spoke: ”What I want to know now is... will I still have a chance to see my sister?”

After Popota asked, there was both timidity and a hint of hope in his eyes.

For him, the dream of revitalizing the Baiyuan Clan had slowly settled with his physical death. It hadn’t disappeared, just temporarily set aside.

Now, his primary concern is only his sister. The person he owes the most and feels most sorry for.

When Popota died, he thought he would never see his sister again, but Angel’s description of the Wilderness of Dreams uncovered that red color in his heart covered by dust.

Popota’s fervent gaze was fixed on Angel.

After a few seconds of silence, Angel gently smiled: ”There is still a chance. But when it will come, that’s hard to say.”

Upon hearing this answer, Popota didn’t show any regret. Instead, he let out a long breath: ”As long as there’s a chance, that’s good.”

What he feared most was having no chance, but now Angel has admitted that in the future, there is still a chance to see Hua Queque. Even if the chance is slim, at least it makes the field of his heart buried in despair sprout tendrils of hope once more.

With hope, the whole spirit of Popota seemed to change. Gone was the previous gloom, and he murmured softly: ”As long as I can see my sister again, even just once, I’m willing to give my all.”

Angel: ”There’s no need to give everything, nor is it worth it. Work hard and complete your current tasks; maybe the opportunity will come naturally.”

Popota knelt half on the ground: ”Please assign me work, my lord!”

Angel: ”Just continue with your current work; do whatever Jon Mentor assigns you to do.”

Previously, Popota had heard Jon say he was Angel’s mentor, and he was somewhat skeptical. But now, with Angel personally confirming Jon’s identity, Popota no longer had any doubts.

”Time is almost up. If you have any questions, you can ask Frode.” Angel paused: ”Frode is my right-hand man. His intentions represent mine, and you can trust him completely.”

Popota nodded, bowed to Frode, and after a moment’s hesitation, asked: ”How should I address you, Frode, or Tyson... young master?”

Frode waved his hand: ”Just call me Frode, no need for honorifics. We are equals, both devoted to the lord, with no need for distinctions between us.”

”But...”

Angel no longer continued listening to Frode and Popota’s conversation, walking outside instead.

Although he had been talking to Popota, Angel’s mind was also observing Pat Manor. He noticed that, after two days of retreat, Sanders finally emerged from the study. He was now standing on the balcony, seemingly experimenting with some trick.

Upon seeing Sanders appear, Angel didn’t hesitate, turning to leave the Sky Tower to go see Sanders.

Angel didn’t walk over; instead, he used the Authority Tree to manipulate the ”Celestial Alternation” authority, gliding towards Pat Manor on a gust of wind.

As the sky darkened, Angel’s flight went unnoticed by the residents below.

However, a pair of scarlet little eyes caught sight of him.

Angel’s attention was still on Pat Manor, not having reacted when he heard a chirp and a white figure dashed into his arms.

Startled, he looked down to find it was Toby snuggling vigorously in his embrace.

Suspended in mid-air, Angel pulled Toby out of his arms. Toby chirped, continuously changing poses in Angel’s hand, urging him to look at its outfit.

Ah... a white silkworm costume.

Toby excitedly showed off its new clothes. Angel could tell that Toby must have been having a blast in Originheart City these past few days, as it had even changed its outfit.

”Who made this for you?” Angel asked curiously.

Toby pointed into the distance.

Following Toby’s wing direction, Angel saw two people standing on the rooftop of a small building. One wore a bullhorn helm and was waving vigorously at Angel.

Without a doubt, it was Tullas. Beside Tullas stood a woman whose face was mostly hidden by a black cloak. However, the woman seemed to want to leave but was firmly held by Tullas.

Angel flew over with Toby, and Tullas immediately welcomed him with a grin, offering all sorts of unreliable suggestions to Angel.

Angel casually exchanged a few words to send Tullas off.

Then, he looked towards the cloaked woman. Seeing Angel’s face, she snorted coldly and turned away without speaking.

”Did you make Toby’s clothes?” Angel asked.

The cloaked woman didn’t answer, but Tullas beside her said: ”Yes, I’ve never thought a Mandhela tailor was so skilled. The caterpillar costume was made so realistically!”

”It’s a silkworm... not a caterpillar.” Although the cloaked woman didn’t want to see Angel, she couldn’t help but correct Tullas when he started rambling.

”Close enough!” Tullas laughed, unconcerned.

The cloaked woman was the Gumman King’s daughter—Mandhela, who nearly led to Black Castle’s downfall. After bringing her into the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel left her mostly unattended, as she was a woman wholly immersed in hatred. Even when subdued, the hatred remained in her heart.

Angel had no time for mental guidance, so he simply tossed her into the Wilderness of Dreams to let her interact with more ordinary people, gradually changing her personality.

The result proved favorable. At least, from Angel’s perspective, Mandhela was no longer as resistant and gloomy as when she first entered the Wilderness of Dreams, now appearing more like a ”person.”

Moreover, Angel’s eyes turned to Tullas. From Frode, he learned that Mandhela’s quick change was because she became Tullas’s assistant.

Indeed, naïveté truly does counter innate darkness well?

However, Mandhela still seemed unfriendly toward Angel. This was expected, as she believed Angel had thwarted her revenge.

”The clothes are well made.” Angel lightly praised, without saying more. Instead, he patted Toby’s head: ”I’m about to leave; will you go back with me or stay in Originheart City?”

Upon realizing Angel was returning to reality and continuing his studies, Toby shook its head without hesitation.

Compared to the tedious reality of the study room, this place was obviously more fun, especially with the lively Dream Plant Fairies around.

Toby recently befriended a Dream Plant Fairy who loved singing. Unfortunately, they couldn’t communicate; otherwise, he would ask her to sew him another outfit...

Once confirmed that Toby wasn’t leaving, Angel bid them farewell and turned away without hesitation.

Standing next to Tullas, Mandhela watched Angel’s silhouette disappear at the horizon’s end, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes.

However, this emotion quickly vanished as Tullas suddenly dragged her off the rooftop!

”You’re jumping off the roof again! Don’t use your sickle to land! If you damage the floor, you’ll have to pay for it!” Mandhela exclaimed in fright.

But Tullas didn’t care at all, cheerfully saying, ”I won’t pay. Frode can’t catch me anyway!”

”And with Toby here!” Tullas looked at Toby flying happily beside him: ”Frode won’t dare punish!”

Mandhela took a deep breath, resistant to rolling her eyes, but ultimately said nothing, letting Tullas lead her, landing on the ground...
