Warlock Apprentice

Under the expectant gazes of everyone, Rhein shook his head with regret: ”Basically, for every question I asked, I couldn’t hear a clear inner response.”

This is actually normal. After all, Rhein is not a Prophet Wizard; even if he understands some basics, it’s just a small skill. If he could truly replace a Prophet Wizard, that would be abnormal.

Rhein continued: ”However, there is one question that received a definitive answer.”

”It is certain that this relic is undoubtedly safe. This is the only firm inner response I received from the Silent Deity.”

Although this answer doesn’t help in finding the hidden room, it at least alleviated a previously unmentioned concern they’ve had—

Since the suspected first owner came back through some passage, did he leave? Could he still be staying in the hidden room?

This worry occurred to them, but they did not mention it. Because from seeing how Angel stayed here safely for more than half a month, it’s likely that the person had already left; even if the person is in the hidden room, he doesn’t seem to have any hostility towards Angel. If they mentioned it recklessly, it might reveal this layer of truth and lead to unforeseen events.

But now Rhein received a hint from the Silent Deity: this place is safe.

This safety doesn’t just mean freedom from harm to life; it actually also suggests peace of mind. Since this is the case, then there are definitely no outsiders in this relic; if there were, they couldn’t possibly have peace of mind.

In other words, at least in the short term, Angel doesn’t have to worry about any safety issues staying here.

This answer, while easing some concerns, didn’t really progress their current queries. Tree Spirit sighed a little disappointedly: ”It seems that the secrets of this relic can’t be uncovered in a short time.”

Tree Spirit said this while looking at Angel: ”To find out the truth behind the appearance of the Knight’s armor and that unknown hidden passage, it now seems it’s all up to you.”

The reason Tree Spirit said this is not only because Angel is staying here but also because, currently, the most crucial clue—the broken magic pattern on the Knight’s armor—only Angel has the opportunity to decipher.

Angel looked at the disassembled Knight’s armor on the desk and nodded: ”When I have time, I’ll try to decipher these magic patterns again.”

Angel actually felt a bit unsure when saying this. The secret of the Knight’s armor hasn’t been deciphered even after all their efforts. He doesn’t think he’ll be more efficient by working alone.

But now, there’s no other way. He can only find time to break the secret.

Rhein patted Angel on the shoulder: ”A hidden room is not a big deal. Just like Tizarro said, he speculated there was a hidden room here because he couldn’t find the analysis platform. Maybe this hidden room is just for the analysis platform.”

”So, without specific information about the hidden room, I personally think, unless you really have free time, there’s no need to waste much energy on this because it’s very likely to be a futile effort in the end.”

Rhein was being honest about how he felt. Although he’s also curious about the hidden passage and room, he feels Angel’s time is more important than these unknown-reward tasks.

Angel nodded. He has his own judgment. He’s not idle to the point of wasting life; he knows what things should be done and what things are better left undone.

The matter of the Knight’s armor is considered temporarily concluded.

After spending most of the day without any gain, the Tree Spirit, who was extremely curious about the hidden room, felt very disheartened.

When he’s depressed, he remembers his own sad affairs and can’t help but want to share them with everyone.

However, before the Tree Spirit could start, Rhein seemed to understand Tree Spirit’s thoughts and initiated the topic first.

Rhein turned to look at Sanders: ”Before you came back, I heard from Horus that Illusion Demon Island wanted to establish a friendship with Black Castle?”

Sanders nodded: ”That’s indeed the case.”

”This is quite good. Although Black Castle did many disgraceful things before, it is now starting to self-correct. With Isabel and Kimberly returning, the undead spreading through Black Forest are also gradually disappearing. Such an organization, rejuvenating from its ashes, often explodes with amazing potential. Illusion Demon Island forming a friendship with Black Castle is a very commendable thing.”

Tree Spirit was also drawn by this topic and, temporarily setting aside his sad feelings, joined in: ”I heard from the Fire Charm Witch that the Witches’ Alliance of Sky Mechanical City had discussed this matter in their small tea parties. Even though Black Castle seems to be rebuilding from ashes now, many organizations have seen its potential to rise again and attempted to help them during their low ebbs and establish friendships, just like Illusion Demon Island. However, Black Castle rejected all of them.”

Black Castle establishing a friendship solely with Illusion Demon Island also, to some extent, deepens bilateral connections.

Rhein said: ”Since Black Castle is going to form a friendship with Illusion Demon Island, Isabel should also come to the Barbarian Cave during the tea party. Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Isabel for a thousand years. I’m really looking forward to reuniting with her at the tea party.”

Rhein’s tone was very poignant, and there was an unusual anticipation in his eyes, showing that he genuinely looks forward to meeting Isabel. No wonder he specially mentioned it at this time.

Angel watched this scene; he originally thought that the alliance between Illusion Demon Island and Black Castle, such factional behavior, would make Rhein feel embarrassed. But now it seems Rhein doesn’t mind.

Come to think of it, it makes sense. Black Castle is extending goodwill, and they can’t ignore it. Moreover, given Black Castle’s current status, even if they truly wanted to form a friendship with Barbarian Cave, it wouldn’t achieve a fair principle. Forming an alliance with Illusion Demon Island is relatively more suitable.

Illusion Demon Island itself also belongs to the Barbarian Cave. Forming an alliance with Black Castle, in a way, also invisibly brings the relationship between Barbarian Cave and Black Castle closer.

Just like the alliance between Illusion Demon Island and House of Lilith, when Kanter encounters a wizard from the Barbarian Cave, he is inclined to take extra care.

This is a mutually beneficial thing for both parties.

After expressing his emotions, Rhein analyzed the impact of the friendship between Black Castle and Illusion Demon Island from his perspective. This impact involves both positive aspects and negative ones to bear.

Sanders listened attentively. Although he had analyzed it himself, Rhein’s scope was broader and his insight more comprehensive.

When Rhein was almost done speaking, the pendulum of the clock in the corner suddenly swung with a sound.

It was because the hour hand pointed to 12 o’clock.

Rhein looked at the clock face and said softly: ”According to the time, the Mystery of the Stars should have already appeared above the Observatory Hall. I wonder how things are on Maya’s side and if she has seen anything in the future star map.”
