Warlock Apprentice

The conversation between Sanders and Frode continued, and as they exchanged questions and answers, Frode filled several pages with notes.

At the end of their discussion, Frode mentioned a term he had used across various topics, which he referred to as a short-term goal—Infinite Alchemy.

Frode mentioned Infinite Alchemy, expressing that once the magic system is constructed, this goal might be achieved.

To this, Sanders gave an affirmative response: ”Once the magic system is fully constructed, not only Infinite Alchemy but any extraordinary research requiring material consumption, be it experimentation, alchemy, spell technique development... can be maximized in utility through the combination of the Dream Conch and the Wilderness of Dreams.”

”However, besides these, I have even greater expectations for the Wilderness of Dreams.”

As Sanders spoke, he gazed out the window at the deep sky, seemingly seeing a larger world.

Frode waited for a long time, wanting to know what Sanders meant by ”expectations,” but he received no reply.

Sanders: ”Let’s end our discussion here for today. If you have any doubts, you can list them, and we’ll talk next time. Anyway, I’ll probably stay in the Wilderness of Dreams for the next few days and construct the magic system as soon as possible.”

Although Frode was very curious about what Sanders left unsaid, he could tell that Sanders deliberately avoided discussing it. Frode didn’t know if Sanders didn’t want to say it or if he couldn’t say it now. In either case, since Sanders didn’t want to talk about it, he naturally didn’t press further.

Frode: ”I’ll arrange a quiet room for the Illusion Demon right away...”

”No need to make special arrangements.” Sanders paused for a moment and turned to Angel: ”I remember you brought Pat Manor into Originheart City.”

Angel nodded because when Pat Manor faced a great upheaval, Angel took the deceased servants into Originheart City to help them get familiar with the environment as soon as possible, and he brought Pat Manor along as well.

”I’ll stay at Pat Manor for the next few days.”

Angel nodded, having no objection to Sanders’ choice. Although Pat Manor in Originheart City housed a group of servants, most of the rooms were unoccupied. It was very peaceful and quiet there, offering Sanders a perfect environment for his research, free from external disturbances.

After Angel nodded, he prepared to leave Sky Tower with Sanders. Before leaving, Angel turned to Frode and asked an inexplicable question: ”Have you made up your mind now?”

Frode was taken aback for a moment but quickly understood. After two or three seconds of hesitation, he nodded slightly.

Angel smiled faintly, patted Frode on the shoulder, and then left Sky Tower with Sanders.

After leaving Sky Tower, Angel asked Sanders to calculate the authority-bearing capacity concerning insects and beasts when he had time.

Sanders understood immediately: ”When you asked Frode earlier, it was for this?”

Angel nodded: ”Having Frode bear authority was part of my initial plan. With Frode’s passion for the Wilderness of Dreams plus the constraint of the oath, he is one of the best candidates for bearing it.”

”The more authority is borne, the more realistic the Wilderness of Dreams becomes, which also helps Frode step out of the shadows, achieving the best of both worlds.”

Sanders nodded; he naturally hoped the Wilderness of Dreams could improve.

”I’ll calculate it later. I believe the success probability for Frode bearing it won’t be small.”

After this matter was discussed, they stopped talking about authority, as they had arrived on the bustling streets of Originheart City.

The streets were crowded, but not many people paid attention to Angel because everyone was gathered around some large trees and gardens by the roadside.

The appearance of plants not only made the Wilderness of Dreams more realistic but also injected new vitality into Originheart City.

This vitality even suppressed some of the previous undercurrents.

Everyone looked full of joy, chatting under the trees or conversing in the gardens, and plants seemed to have become an essential medium for their social interactions.

This fresh sensation would probably last a few days. At least, if Angel chose paths with fewer plants, he wouldn’t have to worry about being crowded around.

When they arrived at Pat Manor, the gate was open.

Nya, the Head Maid, stood beneath a white oak tree at the entrance, a hint of nostalgia in her eyes.

In the past, at the entrance of Pat Manor in The Real World, there was such a white oak tree. However, the white oak tree in The Real World was planted many years ago by Angel and Lyon under Jon’s guidance.

Since arriving in the Wilderness of Dreams, the white oak tree hadn’t been seen again. Seeing it now, although this white oak wasn’t the same, it still immersed her in reminiscence, so much so that she didn’t notice Sanders and Angel passing by her into the manor.

”Aren’t you going to greet her?” Sanders naturally meant Nya, the Head Maid.

Angel shook his head: ”No.”

When he saw the white oak, he also felt a pang of homesickness, let alone Nya, the Head Maid. In such an empathetic situation, how could Angel possibly disturb her?

Angel led Sanders all the way to the castle.

Along the way, they encountered Ollie, the maid, but Angel still didn’t say much, only instructed Ollie that Sanders would be staying at the manor and told others not to disturb him.

When they reached the study, Sanders nodded to Angel and then said softly: ”Earlier, I mentioned I have greater expectations for the Wilderness of Dreams. Aren’t you curious about what they are?”

”Curious. But if the mentor doesn’t wish to say, I naturally respect the mentor’s choice.”

”It’s not that I don’t wish to say, but this matter doesn’t need to be known by Frode.” Sanders paused: ”The Wilderness of Dreams isn’t just about convenience; I believe its existence itself is an unmatched opportunity.”

Angel looked at Sanders in puzzlement, waiting for him to continue.

”As authority gradually returns, the Wilderness of Dreams is becoming more and more like The Real World. Do you know what came to my mind at this moment?”

Without waiting for Angel to answer, Sanders provided the answer: ”I once saw a phrase in an ancient wizard’s relic.”

”Step onto the path of choice, open up the Domain of Rules, and condense the world’s embryonic form.”

Saying this, Sanders’ tone was light, but Angel could feel that the lower his voice, the more solemn he was.

”This phrase seems meaningless at first, but if you carefully consider its first two sentences—Step onto the path of choice, open up the Domain of Rules.”

”These two sentences describe the first two realms of a Wizard.”

”The Path of True Knowledge and the Legendary Domain.”

”If the first two sentences speak of True Knowledge and Legend, then the last sentence...”
