Warlock Apprentice

Next, Angel chatted with Dororo for a while longer.

Dororo had a behavior toward Angel similar to being imprinted, and conversely, Angel, who had witnessed Dororo’s growth along the way, naturally felt a closeness to Dororo.

Because of this, Angel was very concerned about Dororo’s growth, not only in terms of cultivation but also in Dororo’s own concepts.

Therefore, the content of their conversation basically revolved around these topics.

Angel witnessed firsthand Dororo’s perception of the outside world, from a blank sheet of paper, slowly being filled with color.

This acquired color was the achievement of the Guide.

Previously, Angel had always had benevolent people guide Dororo from scratch in education. For example, his enlightening mentor was Grandma Du Shan, and his language expression ability was honed by Grandma Babaya. These were gentle guides. Angel wanted the foundation of the blank sheet in Dororo’s mind to be dyed with the color of light.

Although the ultimate Dororo did not turn out to be pure and kind as imagined, at least he did not go in a more extreme direction. The cold and indifferent demeanor he showed might simply be because this was a trait ingrained in his bones.

However, the above was just Angel’s previous understanding of Dororo. He wanted to know what Dororo’s understanding is now, after such a long time?

Dororo was very willing to communicate with Angel, and in the process of communication, Angel gradually understood Dororo’s values through various topics.

In the end, Angel basically concluded that Dororo had not changed much. He still acted very indifferent towards outsiders. Except for conversing with Angel, he essentially lived in his own world.

Angel didn’t know whether this was good or bad, but what he could do was only guide in the general direction. What kind of person Dororo ultimately became, whether a kind-hearted good person or an incorrigible villain, was his own choice.

After confirming Dororo’s understanding of the world and his personal beliefs, Angel also took an interest in his cultivation.

It must be said, Dororo was too suited for the prophecy department. Under Maya’s teachings, in a short time, Dororo not only made great breakthroughs in the direction of divination but his personal strength was also accumulating continuously.

Purely from a state perspective, he was even a notch higher than Nausicaa, being in the middle of the Third Level Apprentice.

This cultivation progress was on par with Angel’s.

Angel was very satisfied with Dororo’s cultivation. Dororo’s growth, to a certain extent, benefited Angel and the Illusion Demon lineage, after all, the role of a Prophet Wizard was irreplaceable. And after Dororo was awakened by Angel, he was already tied to Angel’s warship.

”By the way, can you remember some things from before now?”

Angel’s question might be hard for outsiders to understand. But Dororo was very clear that what Angel was asking about ”before” referred to the things before he was awakened. That is, the matters before he lay in the coffin.

Dororo shook his head: ”Still can’t remember. Based on my speculation, my previous memory may have completely disappeared. However, it doesn’t matter. Because I have no interest in the previous me at all.”

Angel could see that Dororo was telling the truth.

Some people, after losing their memory, go madly in search of the past; some want to recognize their roots once they learn about their ancestors. But there is also another group of people who do not want to live in the past and do not care about what happened before, they waste no time, their eyes are always looking forward.

Dororo was the latter.

”What about your bowl then? Don’t you want to know what meaning that Silver Bowl that awakened with you has?” Angel remembered that when Dororo first woke up, the thing he cared about most, was the Silver Bowl. Perhaps, subconsciously, he knew that the Silver Bowl held significant meaning for him.

Dororo was silent for a moment: ”...Except for the bowl.”

The Silver Bowl was the only part of his past that Dororo wanted to know the origin of and was willing to pay the price for.

”Do you have any leads related to the bowl now?” Angel asked.

Dororo shook his head: ”No.”

Angel sighed; he was actually very curious about the Silver Bowl as well. He had always speculated whether that Silver Bowl was the Cone of Eternity, rumored to be from the Land of Giant Serpents. If it truly was the Cone of Eternity, from various stories of legends and myths, it was no ordinary item.

Yet, until now, the Silver Bowl still seemed like just an ordinary bowl.

Yes, only ”seemed”. Although the Silver Bowl did not exhibit any extraordinary traits, Angel felt an odd sensation every time he saw it.

This feeling could not be verified and was hard to rely on, but in Angel’s understanding, the Silver Bowl definitely had something special about it.

Angel: ”Do you need me to return your bowl to you? That way, you can research it anytime you want.”

The Silver Bowl was currently within Angel’s bracelet, as Dororo had voluntarily handed it to Angel back then.

Dororo shook his head: ”Rather than researching it and finding out the truth about the Silver Bowl, I am more afraid of losing it. I don’t have the ability to protect the Silver Bowl yet, nor do I trust anyone else to safeguard it...”

Only with Angel, Dororo felt the most secure, and Angel also had the strength to protect the Silver Bowl.

Angel had heard similar words from Dororo’s mouth before. He just hadn’t thought much about it at the time, but now hearing Dororo say the same thing again, Angel suddenly felt a bit puzzled.

Why did Dororo think he could not protect the Silver Bowl, as if, in his subconscious, he felt that someone was coveting this Silver Bowl?

Angel voiced his confusion.

Dororo, however, shook his head blankly; he didn’t know why either, as none of the premonitions he saw ever related to the Silver Bowl, even though the bowl held considerable weight in his heart.

”Perhaps, your anxiety about the Silver Bowl comes from your past memory,” Angel speculated that perhaps in the past, this Silver Bowl was already a target for many people. This concern for the Silver Bowl, like Dororo’s innate sense of indifference, was etched in his bones, and even if the memory was lost, this feeling still remained.

”... Perhaps.” Dororo lowered his head and fell silent.

Time slowly passed, and as the hall clock approached six in the morning, Dororo had been in Illusion Demon Island for the whole night. Though somewhat reluctant, it was time to say goodbye.

Angel did not hold Dororo back, only entrusting him with a request before he left.

Angel used Illusion Technique to create a simple figure, a young witch wearing a noble long dress and holding a lace fan.

”Her name is Irene, she’s a friend of mine, currently missing.” Angel briefly introduced Irene’s information, hoping Dororo would look for Irene if he had the chance.

Although Angel knew she’d probably never be found, as Irene was likely already caught in the Sprout’s chaotic rhythm; but he had promised Allen that after returning to Barbarian Cave, he would ask the Prophet Wizard to help predict Irene’s whereabouts, so he didn’t intend to go back on his word, thus he asked Dororo.

Besides asking Dororo to see if he could find Irene, Angel also hinted to Dororo to keep an eye on the emblem of Sprout, to see if he could predict the whereabouts of this group.

Dororo nodded: ”I will keep an eye out.”
