Warlock Apprentice

As the dawnlight began to shine upon the earth, everyone bid farewell to Zithraide’s antique shop. They boarded the gondola and set off from Shepherd City, heading towards the Pamiji Plateau.

”Angel’s gondola is still the most comfortable to ride in~” Greya, wearing a pair of striking red heart-shaped glasses, leaned pleasantly against the railing and sighed.

The last flying vehicle she had taken was Sharley’s teapot. It was jittery and slippery, and occasionally droplets would splash, causing quite the discomfort.

The gondola was better, with a more than reasonable speed and a steadiness akin to walking on solid ground, which satisfied her greatly. Coupled with the gentle morning light and a slight breeze, Greya felt incredibly relaxed and comfortable.

Angel: ”If you need, I can also craft a gondola for you. Of course, it won’t be free.”

Greya waved her hand: ”Let’s talk about it after I find my missing flesh. After all, your gondola is too small to fit my flesh. If we need to craft one then, it would likely need to be custom-made.”

A picture of Greya’s original form—a mountainous demon king—flashed in Angel’s mind. Indeed, fitting it onto this gondola would be a bit of a squeeze. However, there’s a solution: ”Just add a magic pattern for space expansion inside the gondola, wouldn’t that solve it?”

Greya extended a slender index finger, wagging it at Angel: ”No, if I really want you to craft it, it wouldn’t be simply a gondola. You know, my restaurant is already damaged, what I need to craft is a mobile restaurant that can fly, swim, and walk.”

Angel found sudden enlightenment: ”You’re talking about a new Barbie Restaurant?”

Greya nodded: ”Yes, when I reopen Barbie Restaurant, everything is destined to be brand new, including the restaurant itself.”

Then, Greya chatted with great interest about the style she envisioned for her restaurant.

Greya clearly had plans, describing everything from the details of the entrance, the interior of the restaurant, the shape of the chimney, the styles of different buildings, and the complexity of the streets.

As Angel listened, he grew more and more suspicious... Is this really a mobile restaurant, or is it more like an aerial fortress akin to Sky Mechanical City?

After excitedly describing her ideas for some time, Greya added, ”Of course, what I’ve outlined is just a vision, everything will be decided after I find my flesh.”

Angel nodded unemotionally, fortunately, it’s just a vision. If it were to be implemented... he could indeed craft it, but it would be a tremendous waste of time and effort, unless the rewards are highly satisfactory, Angel wouldn’t want to take on this arduous task.

When Greya mentioned the matter of finding her flesh, she instinctively glanced at Sanders opposite her, wondering if Sanders had any new suggestions. However, Sanders seemed to have not paid any attention to their conversation from the beginning, with his brows tightly furrowed, pondering something deeply.

Greya pushed her heart-shaped glasses up, resting them on her stray locks, curiously looking at Sanders: ”Are you still thinking about the last thing Zithraide said? About the ruins?”

Sanders raised his eyebrows and nodded: ”The situation seems somewhat dire.”

When they left Zithraide’s antique shop, Sanders had inquired about the ruins on the Pamiji Plateau.

Although Sanders had already heard some things from Horus, Horus was far away in Sky Mechanical City, so his information was not the most timely. Zithraide had numerous channels for intelligence, some information even the people of Barbarian Cave might not know. Hence, Sanders sought to inquire from him.

These past couple of days, Zithraide had been smiling amiably, but when the ruins were mentioned, Zithraide’s expression suddenly changed.

This was the first time Zithraide did not directly respond to Sanders’ question, only shaking his head repeatedly, saying: ”Things are not looking good.”

Under Sanders’ persistent questioning, Zithraide finally said: ”You’ll understand the specific situation after you return to Barbarian Cave. I can only say, if things are not handled properly, in a few years you might follow in the footsteps of Sleepless City.”

This line caused Sanders to furrow his brow the entire way after boarding.

Of course, Zithraide wasn’t referring to Sleepless City in the geographical sense, as the Sleepless City of Eternal Night Country is now completely covered by the dome, inaccessible to anyone. He was referring to the Witcher Organization of Sleepless City.

Nowadays, all the Transcendents of Sleepless City have relocated from Eternal Night Country. If Barbarian Cave were to follow in the footsteps of Sleepless City, it would mean the entire Mirror World might need to be moved.

Sanders only knew that the ruins guarded by Lord Rhein were in poor condition. But from Zithraide’s mouth, ”poor condition” now reached a level threatening the survival of Barbarian Cave.

This caught Sanders somewhat by surprise, and as a result, he continuously pondered aboard the gondola, pondering what exactly is going on with those ruins? Is there a way to resolve it?

”No matter how dire, Lord Rhein is still holding the line.” Greya comforted: ”Unlike us at Candy House, with only a few powerful ones. Your huge Barbarian Cave definitely won’t collapse. Furthermore, hasn’t Zithraide already detached from the core circle of Barbarian Cave? How could he know what underlying forces Barbarian Cave has?”

Angel mused that Greya indeed had a point, Zithraide might just be seeing the surface. He personally felt it might not be as difficult as imagined.

Just like the matter of Seed, seemingly even Rosen almost died—a significant threat. But in reality, having had close contact with Muse and Rosen, one could feel that while they now regard Seed Sect seriously, they are not at all despairing; this shows a certain confidence.

Sky Mechanical City surely has hidden depths supporting their confidence.

The specifications of Barbarian Cave are in no way inferior to Sky Mechanical City. If they were really that easily defeated, they wouldn’t have stood strong in the Southern Domain for so many years.

Thinking of this, Angel’s mood eased a bit.

However, while he relaxed a little, he didn’t become entirely optimistic. The new issue of gave no mention of the ruins, which actually marked a troubling sign. Perhaps it wouldn’t shake the foundation of Barbarian Cave, but it might still inflict significant damage.

Sanders did not respond to Greya’s words, merely glanced at her and then shifted his gaze back to his thoughts.

Greya pouted unhappily: ”Wasted my energy.”

Greya no longer tried to provoke Sanders, instead turning her attention back to Angel: ”Speaking of which, you also asked Zithraide a question when leaving the antique shop.”

Angel did not deny: ”Indeed, it was related to Ritual Studies, although Zithraide didn’t seem to know much about it either.”
