Warlock Apprentice

Beside them, Sanders and Greya could vaguely hear that Tree Spirit’s proposal to host a banquet for Angel likely had deeper implications. However, they did not alert Angel to it. Sanders didn’t care, as Angel’s mentor, he supported Angel’s every decision; as for Greya, she wasn’t part of the Barbarian Cave and was even less likely to remind Angel. Besides, Greya harbored a small hope—

It would be best if Angel could leave the Barbarian Cave. Then, using the connection with Toby, she could get him to join the Candy House!

Of course, Greya knew that this was unrealistic.

Nowadays, although Angel might be outside the core circle of the Barbarian Cave, he had a strong sense of belonging to Illusion Demon Island, which couldn’t leave the Barbarian Cave either. So, Tree Spirit’s probing was unnecessary.

On the other side, Angel wasn’t aware that Tree Spirit’s simple invitation carried such convoluted intentions.

He simply replied according to his thoughts: ”Banquets are troublesome, and...” Let alone holding a banquet, even when going back to the Mirror World, Angel would try to stay low-key.

Facing Tree Spirit’s puzzled gaze, Angel explained: ”The current situation is a bit off, so it’s best to keep a low profile to avoid being targeted.”

”Someone’s targeting you?” Tree Spirit said unconcernedly, ”Don’t worry, as long as you’re in the Mirror World, you’ll be absolutely safe.”

Angel shook his head and muttered, ”Being targeted by someone is fine, it’s fearing to be targeted by a mysterious object that’s the issue.”

Tree Spirit was surprised: ”A mysterious object?”

Angel sighed: ”This is a long story, anyway, I need to keep my presence low for now.”

Tree Spirit wanted to continue asking, but on the other side, Sanders chimed in: ”What Angel said is true; we’ll inform Lord Reine of it later when we return.”

Since Sanders said that, Tree Spirit did not continue to press further, knowing he would find out eventually.

”Since there’s such an implication, I’ll inform Reine not to reveal your return yet,” said Tree Spirit.

Last night, Reine had already returned to the Mirror World. Although he didn’t mention the reason, it was probably because the active lines had gained further control, and Reine needed to inform others about it, at least to calm internal unrest.

Soon, Tree Spirit received Reine’s response and looked at Angel: ”Reine hasn’t announced your return, but he has informed some about Sanders’ return. People might guess you’ve come back too.”

”It doesn’t matter, as long as it’s not high profile.” Angel personally didn’t mind people knowing he returned, but he preferred to avoid making a big announcement.

After all, they surmised that launching the Arrow of the Defeated required confirming his general status, so high profile should be avoided. Of course, Angel wasn’t sure if he had been targeted by the Seed or if the Arrow of the Defeated was aiming at him, but being cautious was never wrong.

Tree Spirit: ”Also, Reine said that if you have time, go see him.”

Angel nodded. Even if Lord Reine didn’t look for him, he would go there actively. After all, the matter of the Seed didn’t just affect the Sky Mechanical City.

After that, Sanders stayed temporarily at the Puppet Hospital to continue collecting data on the active lines.

Angel and Greya then returned to the Mirror World.

After leaving the Puppet Hospital, Greya sighed: ”I thought after the shadow of the Demon God faded, the Southern Domain would usher in a period of vigorous development, but now it seems, crises are everywhere. Some crises might even be scarier than the shadow of the Demon God.”

Greya couldn’t help but recall the news from the Crown Star Church, where the ”Immortal Coronastar” Lapuye had deciphered a prophecy during the last Stargazing Day: compared to the Demon God’s shadow, the affairs of the Eternal Night Country and the Fairy Tale World might bring even greater disasters.

At that time, everyone hadn’t paid attention due to the presence of the Demon God’s shadow. Now, it seems the prophecy is slowly coming true.

”Crises often coexist with opportunities. In the historical records I’ve seen, it’s often in the most crisis-ridden times that the most brilliant figures are born.” Angel: ”Look at that vibrant new star race, I believe this is still an era moving towards the good.”

Greya glanced deeply at Angel, understanding that he was implying that perhaps the people in the new star race might become the most dazzling supernova of this era.

But from Greya’s perspective, none of the people in the new star race could compare to Angel.

The real supernova might only be one person, Greya thought to herself.

They continued chatting casually as they passed through the quieter than usual Windmill Town, arriving at the precipice’s bottom, the door to the Mirror World.

Asaz was still sitting nearby, with the mortals who had previously sought their help by his side.

”Why are they still here?” Angel looked at these mortals, puzzled.

Asaz was reading a cookbook at the time and hadn’t noticed anyone approaching. Hearing Angel’s voice, he then lifted his head.

”Sir, I had them go home last night, but they wouldn’t leave,” Asaz respectfully said.

Angel looked at the mortals, seeing their expressions still somewhat fearful after a night had passed; clearly, their encounter with Yva had given them a fright.

They probably didn’t want to leave, simply because they dared not.

Angel thought for a while and told them, ”You can return to Windmill Town now; it’s quite safe.”

”Honorable Wizard, but...” They exchanged glances, seeming to want to say something but showing some timidity in front of a group of wizards.

Eventually, an elder spoke up in a hesitant and humble tone: ”Honorable Wizard, we would like to know, has old Hanmu also been infected by Yva? Is the reason Yva escaped from the hospital because... Windmill Town, like the previous Night Demon City, has already completely fallen...”

Seeing their terrified looks, Angel understood. Their reluctance to return was probably due to imagining Windmill Town had turned into a ghostly place overnight.

Overthinking really harms!

”Rest assured, Yva’s escape was due to his sister’s doing, unrelated to hospital safety. As for old Hanmu you mentioned, yes, he was once infected.”

Once infected? They didn’t immediately grasp it; when they realized, they seemed to have thought of something.

”Do you mean, sir?”

Angel: ”He’s fine now, probably will be back soon. Other lunatics have started recovering as well; a few were treated yesterday. Windmill Town is safe, and it will remain safe.”
