”How could there be a battle without me? I’m the Lady’s champion!” Laine laughed.

”Hahahaha~” The knightly nobles roared with laughter, indeed, without a war, what kind of knight would that be?

The group walked toward the camp’s interior, soldiers were arranged in ordinary tents, and the hardy warhorses were housed in stables. As for the knights, Julius had already built many spacious and comfortable tents inside the camp for the knights to reside in.

The knights went to arrange lodging and distribute various supplies to the soldiers, leaving only Laine, Surya, Connelly, and Julius with their attendants heading toward the large tent. Marquis Connelly, with hair half-white, first asked, ”How’s the situation, Julius?”

”Not very good, for the past two months, we’ve repelled three waves of Beastman assaults,” Julius, who was not wearing armor, motioned for everyone to change into lighter clothing before discussing further: ”I’ve arranged the accommodations, later we will meet in the big tent.”

Indeed, sitting fully armed isn’t suitable for discussing matters together.

As a Holy Grail Knight, Laine received a separate tent, which had shade from the trees, making it less exposed to the sun.

Thirty minutes later, the group in lighter clothing sat again in the large tent.

Julius and Marquis Connelly sat on one side of the wooden table, while Laine and Surya sat on the other side. On the wooden table lay a giant map, which detailed the entire layout of the Arden Forest, surrounding towns, and the camp.

”Since June this year, signs of Beastman activity have grown more frequent. From the time I arrived here, the Valerim Camp has repelled three Beastman rampages, all pushed back by knights.” Julius pointed to the edge of the map.

The place his finger indicated was Valerim Camp.

”So how is our Marquis Glasgow planning to fight this war?” Marquis Connelly asked, as he wasn’t very adept at warfare and preferred hearing others’ ideas.

”The Marquis himself arrived at Valerim Camp at the beginning of August and is leading his knights, awaiting the assembly of the Knightly Army.” Julius said in a deep voice: ”The Marquis plans to enter the forest once the army has fully gathered, proceed to Yulsen Castle, and then directly attack Ten Thousand Demon Rock deep within the forest.”

”Yulsen Castle? Who is currently stationed inside?” Laine asked, seeing Yulsen Castle located deep within Arden Forest, about seventy kilometers from Valerim Camp.

”Yulsen Castle is currently garrisoned by one hundred knights and over two thousand infantry from the Duchy of Leonais, with Count Adelaide, a subordinate of the Duke of Leonais, in charge. Recently, intelligence reported that Yulsen Castle has faced several Beastman attacks, but the defenders have held strong.”

Yulsen Castle is well-fortified, with plenty of siege equipment, and with sufficient defending forces, it’s no surprise they managed to hold out, everyone nodded in agreement.

”Through scouts and rangers who have risked everything for reconnaissance, we have confirmed that Ten Thousand Demon Rock is located about two hundred kilometers deep within Arden Forest.” Julius pointed decisively at a location in the forest’s depths: ”This is the target of our war, to destroy Ten Thousand Demon Rock and the Beastman camp nearby!”

”When do we start advancing?” Laine continued to ask, suddenly realizing a concern.

All arriving armies brought forty days’ worth of food, but some dukes’ forces arrived earlier and others later, and now it’s mid-August. This means the earliest arriving troops have already consumed about ten days’ worth of food.

”Except for Duke Borelion, who will not send forces due to being engaged with the Estalia Army, the Knightly Army is still waiting for the southern Duke of Kakasong and Duke of Paragon’s armies.” Julius continued: ”Maybe... a few more days still.”

”That doesn’t leave much time for the army’s advance,” Laine’s face grew somewhat grim, if more days are needed, it means using up more food, leaving time truly tight.

”By the way, brother, Connelly, Laine.” The lady knight hesitated to speak: ”Father said... during this war, the Winford Army might not be heavily utilized, so be careful everyone.”

”Anyway, after the long journey, let’s have some rest and wait for Marquis Angxi’s notification for the advance!”

”Hmm!”

Meanwhile, inside the main tent of the Knightly Army.

A handsome young noble was enjoying his lunch, with various fruits, white bread, meats, and many condiments spread on the table.

The noble had striking golden hair, narrow phoenix eyes, blue pupils, and fair skin, yet now his face bore some impatience and irritation. After pestering the King for a long time, he finally became the Commander of this Knightly War. But arriving excitedly at the camp with his forces, he found most of the army had not yet arrived.

This was a cold splash of water for the young Marquis, forcing him to patiently await the other duchies’ armies.

Taking a big swig of red wine, he shouted outward: ”Someone come!”

”My Marquis?” Immediately, a Ranger Knight stepped inside.

”How many more have arrived today?”

”Today about two thousand more have arrived! My Marquis,” the knight responded: ”The Winford Army has also arrived.”
