Warhammer Divine Throne

”Laine, Chaos has already sensed my return. For a long time ahead, I won’t be able to send any reinforcements to you. From now on, you’ll have to depend on yourself for what comes next.” The Emperor extended his hand, gently caressing Laine’s head: ”If I capture any other Fallen Primarchs, I will still bring them here to purify with you.”

”I will, Father. Please leave it to me!” Laine said firmly, though the son was like a little monkey, dodging his father’s large hand, jumping up and down.

”Heh!” In the incredulous eyes of Laine and Angerong, the Emperor smiled, his lips curving upwards—a father’s gesture towards a son who made him proud: ”As a father, I feel I must live up to your trust, Laine, my beloved son. Wait for it, your brothers will return one by one, trust me.”

The Master of Humans left, leaving only the Imperial Guard in the mine and Angerong sitting on the stone slab. Laine walked up to Angerong: ”Let’s go, brother, let’s go home.”

He was answered by a sour and jealous voice: ”He really likes you, huh! It was the same with Horus back then, and now it’s you. He always has a special fondness for some of us, and particularly dislikes others.”

Laine could only smile wryly: ”Come on, brother, you must be hungry, right? Let’s go back and have a good meal and a drink together.”

The World-Devourer Primarch’s voice was still sour: ”He likes you, just not me!”

”Brother~!”

”Alright, let’s go.” Angerong finally patted his rear and stood up, following Laine out of the mine, while the Imperial Guard once again hidden in the shadows.

By the time Laine and Angerong emerged from Charon Forest, the 2.4-meter-tall Angerong was already carrying a deer and a roe deer on his shoulders, both caught by hand and had their necks twisted by Angerong: ”Let’s eat this tonight!”

”… Brother, this is my territory.” Coming out of the forest, Laine pointed to his domain, having already given Angerong a rough introduction to the world’s situation and his current status along the way.

Half an hour later, a large bonfire was set up in front of the Wine Castle in Baron Gene’s Domain. A deer and a roe deer were roasting on the spit, and Laine and Angerong held up wine cups, with a pile of empty barrels behind them.

”What a rich and peaceful territory, I really like it.” The World-Devourer Primarch drank and ate heartily: ”It is very quiet here. I will stay to help you, brother.”

”I’ll bestow Red Fish Village in the north by Charon Forest to you, Brother Angerong,” Laine said softly.

Angerong shook his head, waving his greasy hands: ”No need, my brother. Just give me some land to farm, I only want to enjoy a rare, peaceful life. I can support myself.”

”But...”

”No buts, this is what I’m asking as your brother.” Angerong gently declined Laine’s goodwill.

”Alright then, I’ll appoint you as a Ranger Knight.” Laine agreed.

Thus, from late May onwards, Red Fish Village in Laine’s territory gained a large bald knight who worked diligently in the fields every day, wielding a hoe by himself. He seemed to have endless strength, looking amiable and simple, harmless to people and animals, often helping peasants chop firewood, boil water, and catch fish. His days were leisurely, earning the peasants’ affection.

Time moved into June, and the Midsummer Festival arrived.

The annual conscription time had begun.
