Three Towers Game

Chapter 97: Chapter 63 Inverse 7

Liu Jinsen asked Sha Ruijing to help build his momentum, which made Wen Xishu feel quite favorable towards him.

In a way, it was better for Liu Jinsen to be his ”boss” than for someone else to take that role. So Wen Xishu would cooperate with Liu Jinsen to a certain extent.

Liu Jinsen sighed:

”Your tower-climbing report had better be convincing. If you think there are no issues, then I can cooperate with you on this end.”

”Also, if you really plan on climbing the Deceit Tower frequently, there’s one more thing you need to know. Unless you bring back level-5 facilities or higher each time, it’s best not to add facilities to the Bunker at will.”

Wen Xishu thought about this last sentence for a moment and understood a bit:

”No wonder, I was wondering why the layout of some functional layers in the Bunker is so chaotic... while some areas are so orderly.”

Liu Jinsen grunted in agreement:

”You’re very perceptive. In the early stages of the Bunker, humans kept bringing back facilities from the towers... but they weren’t high-level facilities. Most people didn’t care about urban planning, leading to a messy arrangement of facilities in the Bunker.”

”Moreover, some low-level facilities can be obtained repeatedly, which resulted in an excess of certain facilities, occupying a lot of valuable space.”

”Later, we established relevant policies. Except for level-5 and above facilities that can be freely placed, other facilities must first be placed by the guide.”

”After returning to the Bunker, you need to report to the Bunker’s Facilities Planning Bureau and get an approval number. Only after getting the number can you place the facilities in the designated locations after your next tower climb; otherwise, they will be destroyed.”

Wen Xishu had no objections; the arrangement seemed quite reasonable.

Level-5 facilities were too rare, level-6 even rarer, and level-7 were so few that the entire Bunker only had a handful... so these facilities could be placed freely, as we were still in a state of ”the more, the better.”

”Alright, I understand. So as long as I bring back level-6 facilities every time, I don’t have to worry about this hassle.”

Liu Jinsen felt a bit speechless, thinking this statement was too arrogant. But the fact that Wen Xishu had already brought back level-6 facilities twice made his words seem somewhat justifiable.

He could only say in the end:

”Don’t underestimate the Deceit Tower, and don’t be overconfident... Many of us are fighting for you, maybe we can actually help you gain true freedom.”

Wen Xishu felt a bit emotional.

Mr. Liu was highly capable but had never been promoted to a higher level, which made sense. There were truly some admirable people in the Bunker.

He smiled and said:

”Dying on the road exploring the Deceit Tower is better than dying in the Bunker. Thank you, Mr. Liu. I think Principal Albert will be pleased with your decision.”

Liu Jinsen didn’t say anything further; he just grunted and hung up the phone.

After the call ended, Wen Xishu took out the login device, preparing to log into the Three Towers from the principal’s office. This place was actually safer and more concealed than the dormitory.

At this moment, Jabbar said:

”You are indeed diligent and eager to learn, just as the principal said. The academy hasn’t seen a student with such a strong desire to climb the tower and the ability to survive in a long time.”

”Good luck, Wen. Before you start the login device, I have something to give you. This is a gift from Wenren Mirror for you, which might help you on this tower climb.”

Jabbar was respectfully unlike a member of the Academic Affairs Office, more like a polite butler.

Wen Xishu thought to himself that if this person were taller, he could be an Alfred.

Thanks to Albert’s generosity, Wen Xishu’s originally rented item ”Forgotten Key” had already been permanently leased by Wen Xishu and didn’t need to be returned to the Supplies Department.

Currently, Wen Xishu could still request another item. Counting Tang Rui’s letter, the Forgotten Key, and Wenren Mirror’s upcoming gift, there would be three items in total. However, his inventory had four slots.

Considering the possibility of acquiring new items from the new challenge, he decided not to visit the Supplies Department again.

Jabbar opened a palm-sized box and handed it to Wen Xishu:

”This is the item, along with its card description. Hopefully, it will aid you.”

Wen Xishu noticed the purple card at first glance.

Wen Xishu didn’t expect Wenren Mirror to be so generous. It seemed that Wenren Mirror indeed felt a lot of guilt towards Tang Rui back then.

The card’s content was as follows:

[Owner: Wenren Mirror.]

[Item Name: Gradual Apathy.]

[Item Description: Its shape is a crystal-clear heart. As a necklace, it looks ordinary. But it encapsulates the journey of many people’s love: starting humbly, slowly heating up, engendering mutual loathing, and finally dying away.]

[Item Attributes: No general combat attributes. Activation consumes 25% of current health. Activation effect: Once activated, within a certain range, your presence will become extremely weak, and all creatures in the Desire Tower that notice you will have a greatly increased initial favorability towards you, substantially increasing your chances of obtaining the truth.]

Very useful, right? But be wary: once the duration ends, all units affected by the necklace will gradually develop loathing towards you, eventually hating you to the point of wanting to kill you.

This process is irreversible. Once activated, it cannot be canceled. This item has no effect on highly anomalized beings.]

Wen Xishu was slightly moved.

Without a doubt, this item had substantial drawbacks. The increase in favorability was limited, but after the effect ended, the continuous drop in favorability was indeed unlimited.

Once activated, it would create a batch of enemies. The activation cost was not low either, needing 25% of current health.
