Three Towers Game

Chapter 74: Updated: Chapter 53 New Anchoring_3

Of course, we can’t justify preemptively killing a few people just because most of them are going to die anyway.

But the value of the Desire Tower lies in altering the fate trajectories of the bosses in the Deceit Tower and the Slaughter Tower.

Once these trajectories are changed, the overall fate of humanity might be positively impacted.

For instance, I unlocked the conditions for recruiting Slaughter Jack and Jennifer the Slaughter. If I manage to recruit them in the future, it would be a massive surprise for humanity in deciphering the Three Towers.

Today’s situation is the same.

For Wen Xishu, killing a few scumbags on the eve of the apocalypse to elevate the bosses of the Slaughter Tower and get rewards from the Desire Tower is both satisfying and profitable.

Of course, he couldn’t tell Tang Rui about all these things openly. There’s always a huge boundary between players and NPCs.

Tang Rui suddenly spoke:

”Will we... meet again?”

”Hard to say, but most probably, we won’t see each other again.”

Wen Xishu was very straightforward.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see Slaughter Jack, Jennifer the Slaughter, or Slaughter Tang Rui again.

But he couldn’t access the Slaughter Tower in the short term. Exploring the Deceit Tower was his main priority. Even if he explored the Slaughter Tower in the future, he might not run into them, as the Slaughter Tower is so vast.

Tang Rui was quite reluctant, but she sensed that this crazy man would suddenly appear and then disappear just as suddenly.

Rather than looking back and finding the place deserted, a dignified farewell would be better. Tang Rui extended her hand:

”Let’s get to know each other properly and then say a proper goodbye. I’m Tang Rui. I believe what you said, the apocalypse will come.”

”I think you appeared suddenly because you hope I survive the apocalypse. Rest assured, I will survive. I will live to see the day we meet again. I have a hunch we will meet again.”

”Maybe you’ll need me then.”

Wen Xishu smiled and extended his hand too.

”I’m Wen Xishu. This storm seems quite unusual. In Jiangcheng, there might be Awakened with even higher potential than you.”

”The world will soon become chaotic, and your abilities will become more prominent. Tang Rui, protect yourself, hide yourself, don’t easily trust others.”

The downpour hadn’t stopped, but this rainy night was nearing its end. The farewell between these two killers didn’t involve much fuss or words.

”Alright, I remember, goodbye, Sentinel of the Rainy Night Butcher.”

”Goodbye, Rainy Night Butcher.”

They shook hands and then parted ways.

...

...

The rain didn’t show any signs of diminishing; Wen Xishu was right, this rain was indeed unusual.

In the Desire Tower, not every mission target was a person tortured and filled with despair.

Some were exceedingly special cases.

But that was not the parrot’s story, those were stories of other people and things. Wen Xishu sensed something was off, but he didn’t want to complicate matters.

Once Tang Rui’s figure completely vanished into the rainy night, he reviewed the characteristics of the three people he had killed.

”Three people correspond to three items... I actually already know. At least three scenarios, I’m confident I can clear quickly.”

”But there are four doors.”

”So strange, in the truth or dare game, Tang Rui meant there wasn’t a fourth thing that made her feel broken.”

”But there must be...”

Wen Xishu couldn’t figure it out. Actually, he had already heard the answer from the hints, but at this moment, he overlooked a logic.

Fortunately, when his hand pressed on the invitation, preparing to return... he suddenly understood.

Wen Xishu grinned:

”I see, I see... now there are no problems. With this, I can not only quickly clear the Desire Tower but also the Deceit Tower.”
