THE GOD EATER

So it is the power of the sect that made him decide not to play that trick on the Thorn House of Commerce, not Forced Exchange or anyone else in his alliance.

If what he would gain from breaking the contract was more than the price he would have to pay for breaking the contract, he would have surely gone ahead with his scheme. Unfortunately, the four small worlds were not worth breaking the contract.

The four of them would only provide a total of 44 million square kilometers and no living beings. In comparison, he would lose half of his Cave Heaven, half of his lifespan, and have to bear the next life-leech for everyone in the Thorn House of Commerce if he broke the contract. So the four small worlds were definitely not worth breaking the contract.

He was still chuckling about how much the Thorn House of Commerce hated him as he left the second heaven. Then he tore a gap into the third dimension and rushed in the direction of the closest of the four small worlds.

This time, he knew the position of the four small worlds relative to each other, so he was able to chart a course that would take him the least amount of time to reach the four of them. This shortened the amount of time that he spent on assimilating the four of them.

The rest of the trip was constant. The people of the Thorn House of Commerce didn’t attack him because of the contract. But they still played the same tricks on the four small worlds.

After he was done eating the four small worlds, he used the Power Identification Ability to check his progress and tally his gains.

When he saw this, he said to himself, ’So far, the only difference between what I’ve achieved so far and what I had achieved at this point in the previous timeline is that I have 13 million square kilometers more in my Cave Heaven and 1,418.5 less lifespan.’

’This doesn’t look like much. In fact, it isn’t much. But this is alright. After all, the main change is just around the corner.’

As he said this, he slipped into the second dimension. From the second dimension, he ascended to the second heaven.

At this point in the previous timeline, he went to the second heaven to hunt divine beings that the manifestations of Fenrir had spotted and marked for him. He is going to do that now. But there is going to be a little difference in how he does it.

In the last timeline, he hunted four divine beings as Gold Body. He had done that in order to expose his location and make it easy for the people of the Thorn House of Commerce to come to him for their revenge.

But he already knows that this plan won’t work. So he didn’t bother with it anymore.

Instead of hunting as Gold Body, he will now go to great lengths to pretend to be someone different. He plans to do this with the help of the Nanite Metac and by switching through the Divine Metacs that he will use to kill his targets.

Thanks to the Nanite Metac, it is easy for him to look like someone else. And due to the absence of the surveillance of the will of the Blessed Heaven World in the second heaven, it will be impossible for anyone to confirm his identity after he has killed his target.

However, what will really sell the idea that he is someone different, not just someone pretending to be someone else, is to use different Divine Metacs to fight. What’s better is if the Divine Metacs belong to different pathways.

By using the Divine Metacs of different pathways, it is nearly impossible for anyone to think that the killer is the same person. Anyone who believes that the killer is the same person also has to believe that the killer is a Dao Lord. After all, only Dao Lords are known to have more than one pathway.

This way, all the people he kills will be attributed to different people. By the time anyone notices that something is wrong, it will be too late.

As it turned out, this was exactly the case. In the last timeline, he had only killed 4 people before the community of divine beings made up their minds not to trespass into the second heaven. But this time around, he killed 8 divine beings without raising an alarm.

The 8 divine beings belonged to different pathways and had different circles of people who knew them. So it was difficult for one group of divine beings to care or start asking questions.

This apathy worked well enough that the rank 6 swordman who proclaimed himself as the most talented thought that he had nothing to worry about when a bunch of weaklings died. The swordman’s belief was further confirmed when a weakling attacked him.

The person who attacked him was a thin and gaunt old man who was surrounded by a cloud of black metallic dust. The metallic dust behaved like a swarm of bees with the way they moved around the old man and obeyed his orders.

The cloud of metallic swarmed around the old man and arranged themselves into armor to protect him. The armor was very big, so it made the old man look very big and imposing.

The metallic dust also transformed into heavy guns with long barrels in his hands and heavy cannons on the old man’s shoulders. Then they began firing lasers and solid shells at him.
