THE GOD EATER

After they were done boarding, the void ship took off. It entered the third dimension and sped off with the power of the Cave Heaven of the divine being at the helm. Since there was nothing to do until they reached their destination, Loki busied himself with some mental calculations.

As he racked his head, he said to himself, ’The distance we need to travel to reach Oceania is 3,000 light-years. If I use only the power of my Cave Heaven to travel this distance, I will be able to produce 6(Cultivation Rank) × 574 million(Cave Heaven) × 8(Law Fragments), which is 27,552 units of divine power.’

’With that kind of power, I will be able to cover a distance of 27,552 light-years in 24 hours. So it should take me 156.8 minutes to cover the distance of 3,000 light-years.’

’My speed is definitely fast. After all, I can cover the distance that takes this void shop 20 hours to cover in 2 hours and 36.8 minutes.’

’Unfortunately, compared to Money Body’s speed, I am still lagging behind. He can travel the same distance of 3,000 light-years in 19 minutes, so he can go back and forth from Oceania more than 8 times while I am still on one trip to Oceania.’

The journey to their destination was peaceful and uneventful. Everyone was silent except Monarch Ant Hill. She was the only one who had something to say to disturb him.

She sent a message to him, saying, ”It seems you’re too stubborn to see reason. The mission has officially begun now that the void ship has taken off. It won’t be so easy to give up now.”

”Maybe if you promise to join the Thorn House of Commerce, Money Body won’t target you. You are strong, so your Cave Heaven should have reached the limit of rank 6. With that kind of gift, Money Body will be willing to accept your surrender and should spare your life.’

In response, Loki chuckled and said, ”You’re lucky that we are on a mission. If not for this mission, you would be dead by my hands already.”

His words made her bristle in anger. She immediately retorted, saying, ”You’re lucky too. If not for this mission, you would already be dead at Money Body’s hands.”

After saying her piece, she ignored him. Loki was grateful for this because he didn’t like it when potential food talked to him.

It was already bad enough that he couldn’t attack her, even though he knew that he would definitely eat her if he attacked her. The feeling of being able to look at food without being able to touch it was too frustrating on its own. He didn’t need her to flaunt the fact that he can’t have her in his face to make his frustration worse.

At least, he could pretend that she didn’t exist by ignoring her. But when she continued talking to him, it became impossible to ignore her existence and pretend that she wasn’t food that he couldn’t have.

Now that he had offended her enough to silence her, the journey became quiet again. No one else spoke to him. As for whether they were speaking to each other, Loki couldn’t be sure about that. One thing he was sure about was that none of them was trustworthy.

In the silence, he remembered how Nether Flame and Ant Hill had said various things to him in the previous timeline about Money Body and the danger of the mission. What they had told him had made him uncertain about the level of danger that Money Body represented to him.

Fortunately, things have changed for him, and he has learned a lot of lessons. One of the lessons he learned is exactly how dangerous Money Body can be to him.

He knows that the other two aren’t innocent either. After all, they had colluded with Money Body to sacrifice him in the previous timeline.

He thought about this and many other things during the journey to their destination. At 20 hours later, the void ship stopped some distance from Oceania.

The four of them alighted from the void ship. They left the void ship with a large capsule containing some homunculi.

Each of them left with one capsule. The capsules were as large as buses in his past life, and they contained 40 homunculi each. All of the homunculi were unconscious in the capsule.

The four of them carried the capsules up to the very edge of Oceania. Then they stopped outside the crystal shell of the world to decide on what to do next.

Money Body said to them, ”We need to breach the defense of the crystal shield, and we need to do so quietly without drawing the attention of the world.”

He stared at each of them in turn as he said, ”As you all know, this step is very important. I dare say that it is the most important step in this mission. We need to take it with the utmost seriousness.”

”Now, is there anyone here capable of opening the way for us without making any noise? I am not in a good mood right now, so if you don’t have a good idea, don’t waste my time by talking.”

His voice was intimidating as he spoke, so it was clear to them that he wasn’t willing to accept any nonsense. Nether Flame chose to wisely keep his mouth shut, but Monarch Ant Hill had other ideas.

She started by bowing to show her respect. Then she said, ”I have nurtured an ant for this very purpose. It is a stealthy ant that can hide itself very well. It should be able to enter the world unnoticed and plant the shield breaker for us.”

As she spoke, she produced a small bug from the palm of her hand. This ant looked to be made from a white crystal and was translucent.
