The First Store System

Chapter 202: The Bonus Reward

After the death of Rupert and Shina, the system informed Aakesh about it.

If Aakesh wanted, he could see their last scenes, but he had no interest in it. The death happened outside his store, so he had nothing to do with it.

Instead, Aakesh was talking to the system after closing the store.

”Hey, system, show me my bonus reward,” He asked the system in his mind.

Aakesh expected a mechanical alert inside his head, but the next moment, a blue screen containing the detail of the bonus reward appeared in front of him.

[Bonus Reward: Select either of the two,

(I) A new skill, a new product, and a grade up,

(II) The store upgrading quest.]

Aakesh couldnʼt help but get confused, seeing the rewards he had gotten.

Instead of getting a normal reward, he got two choices.

”Hey, system, whatʼs this?” He asked the system.

[Host, you successfully completed the event quest. Your result came out better than imagined. The event also filled the requirement you needed to get the store upgrading quest, but since the quest as the reward may not be worth your efforts, and you may not like it. So the system decided to create an equivalent reward for it. Itʼs now up to you what reward you want to choose...]

The system gave a long explanation to Aakesh for two options.

”Hmm...” Aakesh mumbled while looking at the screen.

He needed to think before choosing the reward. He couldnʼt just select any option.

Even though the first option would give him a level up, a new product, and even a new skill, he couldnʼt ignore the second reward.

His store is currently only level 1. If he selected the second option, he would be able to upgrade it after completing the quest.

He fell into a dilemma. He didnʼt want to miss either of the rewards.

A new skill could help him in the battle against that swordsman in the virtual training area, while a grade up would upgrade his cultivation equivalent to Immortals in the Primal dimension. Considering he had already gotten the weapons room yesterday, the new product reward was of no importance to him, but the other two could be of help to him in many ways.

Time flew by, and several minutes passed. Aakesh stood in the store, thinking about what option to select.

”Hey, system, why couldnʼt you just offer me a quest without adding it into the reward section?” He complained.

[Host, the store upgrade quest is a reward in itself.]

The system simply responded.

”Fine, Iʼve made my decision,” Aakesh murmured after making his decision.

”Give me the second option!” He added the next moment.

He selected the second option as the primary reason behind him acting as the store owner was to know about his past details.

To know it, he needed authority, and his authority would only grow with the upgrading of the store. If the store stayed at level 1, it wouldnʼt matter how many quests he did; his authority would still remain zero.

[Yes, Host!]

[Ding!]

[The quest: Organize an event for the citizen of the Bisan Kingdom, successfully completed.]

[The reward: Thirty-five virtual products, a new product, and addition in new pills, successfully given.]

[Host has exceeded the maximum requirements of the quest.]

[Bonus reward calculating...]

[The Bonus reward: Store upgrading quest, successfully given.]

[Host, please check your bonus rewards.]

The next moment, continuous mechanical alerts echoed inside the store. Aakesh had already heard several of the announcements yesterday.

The blue screen containing the details of the bonus rewards automatically disappeared, and instead, a new window containing the details of the store upgrading quests appeared in front of him.

[Mission Objective: Upgrade of the store to Level 2...]

Aakesh couldnʼt help but frown after reading the details of the quest.

He then heaved a sigh of relief when he saw there was no required time limit to complete the quest. Since the system wouldnʼt provide him any kind of help, the quest proved to be an impossible task for him. He decided to postpone it.

His face couldnʼt help but turn ugly, thinking this. Since he couldnʼt complete the quest right now, it wouldʼve been better to select the first option.

He then took a deep breath as there was no point in regretting his actions. What has happened has already happened.

”Hey, system, you already knew that the quest wouldnʼt be possible for the current me to complete without your help, so why did you even add it?” After getting over his decision, he asked the system.

[Host, you completed the requirement for the store upgrade quest, the system presented it to you.]

The system replied in its usual emotionless and mechanical voice.

”What was the requirement?” He asked.

Earlier, the system had refused to tell him when he had heard about the store upgrading quest, but now that he had met the requirement, the system could surely answer him.

[Host, the requirement for the store upgrading quest was to have 111,111 active customers at the same time inside the store. You met it when 292,748 participants entered your last event.]

Aakesh couldnʼt help but get dumbfounded when he heard the requirement. The next moment, he heaved a sigh of relief for selecting the second option. All the regrets he had in his mind disappeared in a second.

Even though he couldnʼt complete the quest right now, he thought it was better that he had selected that option.

Since the system had set the requirement, Aakesh was confident that he would be able to one day complete it. But it would be years before he was able to get 111,111 active customers at the same time.

Now, he finally knew why the quest seemed unbearable for the current him. If he had met the requirement as per the systemʼs expectations, he wouldʼve already gotten strong at that point.

But everything changed due to his single suggestion of organizing an event and one man Punta. Aakesh was unaware that Punta had a large role to play in the large gathering on the last day.

If Punta hadnʼt talked to his father about the event, this number of people wouldʼve never come to participate.

If Aakesh knew about it, he wouldʼve even revived his son and made him an Emperor, but some things are better left unknown in the annals of time.
