The Conquerors Path

Chapter 1032: Chapter 1030-Not My Problem.

‘That is quite a lot of information indeed.’

Hates men, hates sex and even hates love.

‘Does she swing that way or something?’

[Not at all. Her tastes are completely normal. It’s the heaviness of the past that is creating this current situation with her.]

‘Yeah, that’s not good at all.’

I could only smile wryly as I understood that the one I have to take control of hates dudes and has zero interest in sex or anything romantic at all. Though from my understanding of the flow of the world here, there definitely lie situations that will come to her and make her change.

‘I can already see the cliché route of her healing, finding herself and trying to save the world.’

[You go girl!]

‘?’

[Always wanted to try saying that.]

‘Sigh… this isn’t some eat pray love bullshit, and I definitely sniff some reverse harem shit waiting to happen. I can smell it.’

[Sniff…. sniff…. smells pretty normal to me.]

‘You are hopeless.’

Cutting myself away, I focused on Elowen, who already seems to be moving with all the money she got towards some kind of bar to drink her time away.

“Disgusting…”

I just took in the words of Krave, who felt endless disappointment towards Elowen, who just squanders her time away even though she got a 2nd chance. My mind is rumbling with all this new information, trying to bind stuff together to understand how I can take this forward in a way that will be useful to me.

My mind was running through the several web novels and stuff I had read to understand more of the situation at hand. She does indeed come from a matriarchal society, though that doesn’t mean the vast sea world is like that. If I am to create a connection with her, it has to somehow happen in a soft and more realistic way. Can’t force myself in like the rest.

‘Hmmm…’

My mind ran through several ploys as I soon arrived at a more useful plot I could take forward. If her advantage is knowledge of the future, I just need to crush some of it in a more useful way to me, to break her down a little.

[Planning on destroying her?]

‘Something like that. Let’s say I plan on being her guiding angel type thing.’

[Sounds like a shitty idea.]

‘Not when I do it.’

“What do you plan to even do with someone as useless as this piece of trash?”

Krave asked.

“I plan to guide her to the correct path. She might have crucial abilities and insight on how to keep these waters safe.”

My words make Krave pause.

“Do you really want to keep the waters safe?”

“I want to keep the world safe, and the waters fall under that desire of mine.”

Krave nodded her head at my words, a trace of interest in her growing. For now, I watched as Elowen, with a happy hump of her legs, walked into a classy bar, sat down and ordered a large special drink. She happily drank away at it. But then my eyes fell on a man sitting a bit farther away, looking at Elowen with those puppy-dog eyes.

‘Interesting…’

I mused as I saw through the man. The man himself looks to be about 30 years old, but what’s interesting is that he is also a bloomkin!

‘What is this? An unrequited love?’

I thought as my eyes kept shifting between the two of them. It seems Elowen knew of this person keeping an eye on her, but she just seems not to care and lives away. My eyes shone as I watched the drama unfold.

Soon, I saw quite the good-looking mermaid male swim towards the edge of the bar table where Elowen sat, a charming smile on his face as he tried to hit on the now drunk Elowen. Quite natural, seeing how beautiful she is. In fact, quite a few men already had eyes on her since she walked in, and now this man made his move.

…..

Third Person POV:

Elowen was drowning in her drink when the sleazy looking dude came up to her, taking a seat beside her as he spoke to the bartender.

“Hey, get me some of what she is having.”

He said as he once again gave a smile, which he thought was charming. But then, looking at that smile of his, that stupid smirk, Elowen only felt disgust. Memories she wished to bury flashed through her mind while the alcohol and food in her stomach seemed to get upset and want to leap out. By now, a light blush had come to her face, and she was just chugging on.

“So, you don’t look like you are from around here, drinking away pains like the rest of us…. uh?”

The dude slid in smoothly with his words as the bartender placed the drink on the table. Elowen chose to just ignore the dude as she focused on taking the next slurp of her drink. The rich, intoxicating sensation was blurring her mind and sipping away her pain. Being ignored, the man didn’t react as he coolly said.

“Looks like you are busy and don’t want to be disturbed. I shall leave you to it then.”

He said, walking away.

…..

First Person POV:

‘What the fuck? What’s this? Where is the drama? The dude who just won’t go away when rejected? What’s with this calm yet reasonable situation!?’

[Damn…. wasted some good popcorn for it.]

‘I understand your pain.’

Connecting with my system, I focused back on Elowen just drinking away again. The other dudes, seeing this dude just ignored, chose to focus on their drinks and situation, not disturbing her at all. Which was not how the plot was supposed to go!

My eyes turned toward the bloomkin dude at the corner, still keeping an eye on Elowen. Since then, the situation was just quiet and normal as I watched Elowen get drunk and hammered. Her mind was buzzing as she soon started to wobble out of the bar, hailing a turtle taxi?

I watched as the taxi soon reached her place, quite a nice apartment, as she moved into it. Though as she landed on the doorstep and was about to enter, a group of 3 men blocked her path. All of them are quite rough and tumble-looking.

[Oh?…. here we go! Finally, the popcorn was not wasted!]

My eyes narrowed as Krave, Luna, and I listened to the dude who looked like a fish. All 3 but had that 80s gangster style to them.

“Our boss wants to meet you.”

[Ohhhhhhhh.]

“Boss?”

Elowen asked back, to which the dude added.

“The boss of the gambling den you keep visiting. We just want to make sure you are legit. The numbers you win are a bit too peculiar.”

“Oh…. I am a bit drunk. Can I come later when I am sober?”

This made the expression of all 3 turn for the worse.

[It’s happening!]

“Okay, we will come see you the next morning itself, or you can come visit us when you feel better.”

[….]

‘….’

[What the fuck?]

‘My thoughts exactly.’

I once again agreed with my system as I watched Elowen nod, enter her apartment, and just snooze away without even changing her dress.

‘Looks like that popcorn was still wasted.’

I teased the system as I chuckled. Though I was surprised by it all, I didn’t let it get me. What was there to say that the day I met her, something should happen? I might even watch her for days, and nothing might still happen. It all depends on luck. Most cases, I am lucky; in this case, it seems not so much.

Though by now I have already marked a plan in my mind. Quite the fun plan that would be of great use to me. Smirking a bit, I looked at Krave, whose face was just full of disappointment as I asked.

“Hey Krave, wanna help me screw her over while having some fun?”

I asked, and Krave, blinking her eyes, formed quite the devilish smile on her face.

“Sure.”

Smack!

It was then that Luna’s tail smacked my face, acting like water didn’t even exist to her. To which, with a wry smile, I petted her head as I added.

“Yes… Yes, I need your help too.”

….

Third Person POV:

‘Urgh…..’

Elowen woke up from her sleep with a splitting headache as the light gems attached towards the street became brighter, indicating the start of the day. A gurgle sounded out from her stomach as Elowen jumped up from the bed and rushed to the bathroom, where she started to vomit.

“Blurgh!”

She kept on vomiting till she finally started to become better and smiled. Though when she did, and her mind got better, the past still came to her, which made her frown. Getting up, she quickly changed, getting all ready as she started to walk out of her apartment. And it was when she did that she came face to face with her neighbour, or a new neighbour in this case.

“Hi.”

The younger man said. He looked to be in his early 20s with light brown hair and shining blue eyes, quite the handsome face, as he looked like a merman. His gills were spreading across his neck, but then she noticed something easily.

‘It’s a disguise magic. Quite a high level one, too.’

With one glance, she saw through it, and then, well, there was no then.

‘Not my problem.’

With that, she just headed out.
