The Conquerors Path

Chapter 1013 - 1011-I Am The Chosen One Bitches!

’Now that’s done, let’s focus on the next thing at hand.’

I left Tria to her own devices for now, though I already have something keeping an eye on her. Her actions next will not be easy to predict, but I have already placed the first shackles on her—the shackles themselves being me. The condition that was attached to the power she received was simple: she would need to take me along with her adventures or such in her tasks to save the world.

Which means the next steps she needs to take need to take me along with her, thus restricting her next moments. This doesn’t mean she needs me while hunting for treasures or such; the genius of the moves comes from the fact that for most of the treasures or things she needs to boost herself, it comes with danger and opportunities, and in those, she will need to take me along with her.

’It’s a maddening condition to get, but she took it well.’

Can’t say she took it well; it leans more towards the fact that her heart and mind have already worn down a lot. This is just a minor tussle in her path; she will adapt and grow, but this time, I will be adapting and growing along with her.

’The pace of our relationship is already set.’

A heartless, cold-hearted, wounded soldier that walks a tough path of salvation and a junior that walks the same path but keeps his heart clean, wishing for justice and truth—what happens when you get the other?

’We get the cliché healing situation at hand.’

And that is my goal. I will be her canary... cough, heard it from a show from my past life.

The good that keeps her evil from unleashing the thing is that, by walking the path she has, she has become the minor evil fighting the greater one. With all the blood and death in her hand, you can’t specifically say that she’s a good person, so I will guide that good person and become the throne of her heart. My main job will be drilling through that dead heart to get her interest and love.

’It will be an uphill battle.’

But this also made my scumbag instinct of conquering rile up. What good is it if I can get it easily? The sweetest are those which I get through hard work, because then attaining them will be even more heavenly. Musing to myself, I shifted through space, blanking along as I stumbled onto the next target in my mind.

’As always, fate is indeed fickle.’

I mused as I looked at the next regressor in front of me, a subtle smile on my face, seeing the quiet, handsome commoner with a bow and arrow moving through the confines of the land, hunting. Right now, this being an outer forest, he is hunting relentlessly.

’This is pissing me off a bit.’

The technique of the bow he is using is the very one that Eleanor created. My eye that is half-divine in a way could easily see through it, and I can see that the person in front of me had even improved it, added his own parts, and made it an even greater art of fighting. A true-born, monstrous genius of the bow is in front of me.

’And the very kid whom I had tied up to get Eleanor.’

The one in front of me right now is the so-called disciple that Eleanor should have originally gotten, the one that helped her and was taken in, the one that should have become the centre of her obsession and growth—and now he is the regressor that followed along with Tria to this world.

’I want to crush him.’

This thought came easily to me, like a certain sense of possessiveness in me, like I didn’t like the fact that he’s using something from Eleanor and beyond that, perhaps his mind holds memories and a future from which he might have had a close relationship with Eleanor.

’Wow... guess I am falling into a yandere myself too.’

I shook my head at the absurd thought. What he had in the past had absolutely no relation to me; that is a completely different timeline, a completely different world, and any connection to me would be absolutely zero. The main issue is that my side of corruption is ruffling up feathers to just let my one-point intrinsic thought be let free.

Being unable to control my own power is a pain, too, so I let the order and chaos mix for a moment as I watched this young man fight through them. Interestingly, he has reached Origin Realm 2 and is moving forward highly too. In my calculation, just some time ago, he was just a null Origin Realm 1, a commoner just living his life away till he took to this path.

My senses exploded out, sensing throughout the forest; not even the highest of beasts present here detected my movements as I quickly searched through the place, within which small surprises awaited me.

’Guess he is after that.’

My body flashed, and I appeared inside a cave within a waterfall, easily moving through the beasts and traps set here. I reached the depth of the cave where sat a single skeleton, its bones already breaking away, but what lay interestingly was that through its body grew a single fruit looking quite like a strawberry, ripe and tasty. The horrifying part is that it grew through his body.

”Ptsssss!”

My eyes then landed on a snake, it being an Origin Level 3, circling it like protection, sniffing and surfing around, just waiting for the moment for the fruit to bloom so that it can take it and evolve its bloodline into something more beautiful and tangible.

’What an interesting bloodline.’

I laughed as I looked at the snake, it being 2 meters long and surfing around there, with markings of purple and gold around the snake’s skin, a single gemstone at the top of its head, but what’s truly intriguing is its bloodline.

’Bloodline of one of the ancient beasts, Jormungandr.’

It’s actually very diluted, so barely anything lasts, but for it to form in such a beast in itself is a miracle, and once it eats the fruit, its bloodline purity will only get higher. But what’s funny is that it’s not just Jormungandr, a hint of mixed medusa can be felt from it too.

’A conflicting bloodline that should have killed it survived.’

My eyes narrowed as I saw a much smaller strawberry growing along with the big one. As someone at my level, I can subtly see the flow of fate and will this world gives, and right now I can see a subtle connection that exists between this beast and that idiot hunting towards this place.

Let me guess: the two of them meet, they have an epic fight where the two of them almost die, then the beast and man respect and admire each other, one of them eats one fruit, they acknowledge each other and become beast companions and fight forward together or something?

I could smell the drama created here, and it’s annoying to me. I know a little cutie girl who would more appreciate these fruits with her; her beast strength will only take a step forward with all of this. I was tempted to take all of this away when I felt a certain little resistance from the world—the path was set for them.

Being regressors and falling into this timeline isn’t something that is easy; it can only be done when the will of the world agrees and when the two Supreme Goddesses of Origin do, plus fate needs to play some hand in it. And when it does happen, it comes mixed with them being gifted a lot of growth; they allow it because the Gods want to change the flow of the world.

A subtle way to interact in it without breaking the contract.

But what’s funny here is that...

My hand moved, wanting it, and the world easily allowed it—like coaching their own child, it opened up to me. I could hear the subtle jests to my world that I can take it, take it all if I want to...

And that is the funny thing. Beyond these regressors and the hero it chose, it loves me unconditionally and chooses me above them all, because due to the very fact that I have already changed everything that should have been changed, my existence itself is the best guarantee against the contracts set away by the Highest Gods.

Anyhow, what it says is that these regressors were meant to appear before I, in themselves; technically, they have no relation to me. Whether I existed or not, they would have arrived at this time and started changing the flow of the story. Yet I existed; it was beyond the plans of any beings, and with me existing, the sense of safety grew much, much higher than some regressors.

It is similar to how you paid to get some good quality stuff, but the supreme premium somehow landed on your lap; since then, you just forgot about the old and are now focusing on the new.

’Though technically it’s the old me outliving the pre-planned old them.’

Huh... confusing.
