Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 846: Chapter 14: Brother Cheng’s Spinal Cord Sword

Gao Gong quickly returned, dragging the limp body of Lin Bao.

Moments later, this squad leader-level figure, an SS-level life form of level 60, was locked up.

”Minister, what’s going to happen to him?” asked Xiao Hudie, the fourth combat squad leader, anxiously returning after hearing the news.

”Do you want to plead for him?” Gao Gong asked with interest.

”I have no intention of pleading for him,” Xiao Hudie hesitated but couldn’t help saying, ”but you can’t just kill him like this, right?”

”Miss Ke, how is such a situation usually handled within the department?”

Miss Ke’s voice was cold as she said, ”According to the previous minister’s strict rules, there’s only one outcome for an internal traitor: the death penalty.”

”He’s just impulsive, he’s not truly insane,” Xiao Hudie angrily retorted.

”But he killed 76 colleagues. If the minister hadn’t arrived earlier, the entire ’Transfer Station’ would have been destroyed by him,” said a section head, frowning and clearly unwilling to go easy.

”Since joining the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, Lin Bao has completed as many as 51 level 5 high-risk missions, saving numerous teammates during missions. I believe many can attest to that.”

”Merit can’t offset faults,” remarked another senior official.

”But we’re currently in need of manpower...”

Gao Gong did not engage in their argument but used his ministerial authority to access Lin Bao’s files. Only ministers could view team leader-level data.

He was curious; aside from himself, there was another SS-level bloodline on this planet.

From his perspective, Lin Bao’s bloodline seemed innate—a naturally born Beast God?

According to the records, Lin Bao was brought back by Aramaki while still an infant. Aramaki claimed to have found the baby in a Radiant Beast’s lair.

Even as a child, the infant demonstrated exceptional combat talent, capable of holding his own against Advanced Reproductive Warriors at a young age. Interestingly, although raised by Radiation Beasts, he bore no Radiation Beast aura at all; instead, his Biological Magnetic Field was a thousand times stronger than a normal person’s, and ten thousand times upon reaching adulthood.

The research department’s analysis of his cells seemed unable to find the source of his strength.

Gao Gong was skeptical.

He speculated that the Radiation Beast bloodline might just be a ruse. Aramaki, having absorbed the Spirit of Ecology and visited Luca the Sage to learn the Path of Life Evolution, likely created Lin Bao through some means.

When he looked up, he saw the high-level officials of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division staring at him. Clearly, they awaited his decision on handling such a minister.

Gao Gong shook his head,

”The issue now is not just the life and death of one team leader. Miss Ke, inform the other ten squad leaders to check if they’ve encountered any issues.”

”Understood, Minister.”

Only then did the crowd realize, their faces changing. If one Lin Bao nearly caused a catastrophe, what if the other leaders also had problems?

Gao Gong chuckled, casting an interested glance at them:

”If a team leader has issues, there’s me, the minister, to suppress it. But if I, the minister, were to develop cyber psychosis, do you have a contingency plan?”

At this, the crowd’s expressions changed drastically, even Xiao Hudie, who was deeply concerned about Lin Bao’s fate, was at a loss for words.

The team leaders were already the top combat strength of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, their prowess surpassing the Martial God, and the minister was even above the leaders, effortlessly suppressing and bringing back Lin Bao.

It’s worthy to note that in terms of individual combat strength, Lin Bao ranked among the top three of all the leaders. If the minister were to develop cyber psychosis, then...

”The minister’s strength is formidable; that shouldn’t be the case,” Xiao Hudie forced a smile.

”Who can say for certain,” Gao Gong shook his head and said, ”You should calculate whether the combined strength of the ten squad leaders can suppress me, and if not, how long can they hold out. Inform Mother City, the Fortress, Cybertron, and the Deep Net as well. Although the Six Ministries and Mother City have a non-interference agreement, given the situation, such concerns are secondary now.”

Even though Gao Gong’s words seemed odd, as if making posthumous arrangements, they made sense. With his strength, even if the Six Ministries managed to suppress him, the cost would be severe. Requesting help from Mother City, given the current shortage of personnel, was indeed a good idea.

However, Xiao Hudie faintly sensed that things weren’t so simple. The other party’s deliberate words seemed to be part of some plan, but facing Gao Gong’s enigmatic gaze, he sharpened his focus and dared not speak more.

”As for dealing with Lin Bao, don’t deal with him yet. Let the department’s experts study him to see if they can identify the source of ’neurotheft’. As long as I’m stationed at the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, he won’t cause any trouble.”

With Gao Gong’s assurance, the senior officials had nothing else to say, and Xiao Hudie breathed a sigh of relief.

However, late at night, another disaster struck. The Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s fifth combat squad leader, who also served as the fifth Mechanical Legion Commander, Mechanical Mountain, had an incident!

Gao Gong wasted no time, directly teleporting with a group of level 60 experts from the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division to the ocean. Sure enough, they saw Mechanical Legion forces besieging a Mechanical City, with three Mechanical Hubs already locked onto the Mechanical Fortress at the center of the Mechanical Legion.

”Interesting, the loyal turn traitor, the treacherous play loyal, interesting, truly interesting.”

Xiaoi Hudie, who had been closely watching Gao Gong, heard these words and felt there was more to them, but there was no time to ponder as Gao Gong made his move.

The Beast Tide at Beast God Level, plus Emperor’s Might at S-Level, two large-scale techniques were unleashed, and in an instant, the sky turned dark, as if the radiation clouds were summoned by Gao Gong. The transparent radiation radiance shone across the sky and earth, enveloping the whole space in a mist, while the Emperor’s Might made those large mechanical bodies creak, making advancement difficult and retreat impossible.

The experts Gao Gong brought with him saw this, and without hesitation, rushed towards Mechanical Mountain.

No surprises, the Legion Commander and Mechanical Martial God were successfully disarmed, and the other subordinates who were sick were executed on the spot, while those without illness were sent back.

After these actions, everyone in the other departments understood the operations of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division. As soon as an internal member had an issue, they promptly informed the opposing side, and Gao Gong quickly gained a lot of experience.

Fortunately, besides Forest Leopard and Mechanical Mountain, none of the other captains showed signs of cyber psychosis, which could be considered a good thing.

”Ten captains, two had problems, a one-fifth probability of cyber psychosis; how can you say it’s safe?”

At this moment, Gao Gong was having a video conference with Vice Minister Huang Cong from the Memory Supervision Department.

’Memory Loss,’ ’Personality Reset,’ ’Neurotheft.’

These three waves were precisely under the jurisdiction of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division and the Memory Supervision Department, so the two sides had frequent meetings.

”Anyway, as long as it’s suppressed, it’s good. Some Martial Gods in the Mother City got hit, causing harm, forget it, not going to talk about it,” Huang Cong shook his head and abandoned the topic, then asked:

”I heard Minister Gao plans to go out?”

”A two-fifths probability, not only includes ’Neurotheft’ but also ’Personality Reset.’ In the short term, ’Neurotheft’ has a significant impact, but in the long term, ’Personality Reset’ is the most dangerous. Don’t forget, the Cyber Wave is merciless, and what’s certain now is that a small fraction of the leaders of those Giant Corporations, the heads of the organization, have been ’Personality Reset.’ Minister Huang, you should understand what this means.”

With Gao Gong’s words, Huang Cong couldn’t help but take a deep breath, realizing the other party’s implication.

If even a small fraction of these ’Giant Corporation Leaders’ are infected by ’Personality Reset,’ then this Cyber Giant Corporation Era is at risk of collapsing.

”That’s why there’s a need for global surveillance.”

Gao Gong said calmly.

”We must ensure all Super Corporations are still within the control range of Corporate Will.”

”Naturally, I will apply for a Six Ministries meeting, getting support from the other four departments for your surveillance work, Minister Gao.”

Huang Cong said solemnly, then remarked:

”Thanks to Minister Gao suppressing the planet, this crisis hasn’t spiraled out of control, and Minister Aramaki’s foresight really is commendable.”

”Not at all, not at all,” Gao Gong smiled and said, ”I’m just an ordinary planet’s number one expert.”

...

Meanwhile, under the secret manipulation of the benevolent Gao, Gao Yuanyuan appeared in Other Shore of Freedom.

Since the disappearance of Cyber Space and the launch of the Electronic Brain Plan, reality and virtuality are inseparable. Gao Yuanyuan seemed to appear in reality but after taking a few steps, she again entered a Virtual Realm.

This was a 2D Realm. Beautiful girls, elder sisters, lolis, shota, each one seemed real but had a unique anime-inspired beauty.

”This is—”

Gao Yuanyuan paused, she originally thought she would see something inappropriate for minors, but unexpectedly, it was very clean.

Sensing an outsider, a Transmigrator who was killing slimes outside the city suddenly changed expression and transformed into Capsule Man H, twisted, and appeared in front of Gao Yuanyuan, somewhat puzzled and cautious, he said:

”Are you?”

”Mr. G sent me,” Gao Yuanyuan took out an emblem, part of the Dark Otaku Bible.

Capsule Man H solemnly nodded, ”I understand, please follow me.”

The next moment, the 2D Realm disappeared, and the two seemed to appear in an ocean formed of hormones, in the center of the ocean, inserted a monstrous sword composed of vertebrae.

”I call it Brother Cheng’s Spinal Cord Sword, it’s to commemorate a revered ancient 2D predecessor,” Capsule Man H said seriously.

”...Oh.”

For some reason, the atmosphere suddenly grew tense. Gao Yuanyuan’s small face became serious, earnestly looking at the sword as if performing some ritual.

”This sword tells us, Cuckbeast is just the past, Pure Love Warrior is the future, it’s not us who are wrong, but the world!”

The ritual seemed complete, Capsule Man H reached out to Gao Yuanyuan and said, ”You can draw the sword now.”
